While the government did indicate a possibility that it may repatriate T&T students from Jamaica in the aftermath of the hurricane, President of the Trinidad and Tobago Student Association of UWI Mona, Breanna Bethel notes that at this time, it would not be the most practical option.
00:00The university resumed classes today, Monday 3rd of November 2025, and other than being really mentally exhausted, all the students seem to be fine. Mentally exhausted because we never experienced a hurricane and a Category 5 at that.
00:18So the preparations and all the preparations that went into being prepared for the hurricane had everybody really tired. But thankfully, Kingstown was not hit, as I said before. Kingstown was not hit as hard as the Westings and the Jamaica.
00:37With regards to being repatriated, as I said, school started today and a lot of us have a semester to finish. So although it would be nice, a lot of us can't come home at this point in time because we have school, we have assignments, we have exams.
