During the two day visit to Trinidad and Tobago, the Government of India signed six Memoranda of understanding with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. Here's an update.

00:05presents the bilateral agreement signed between India and Trinidad and Tobago.
00:11In a fitting culmination to this visit, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago is pleased
00:15to announce the exchange of six memoranda of understanding between the Republic of Trinidad
00:21and Tobago and the Republic of India.
00:24These MOUs reflect our shared commitment to deepening bilateral relations cooperation
00:29across a wide range of areas that are vital to our mutual development and prosperity.
00:36The first one involves the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, which is an autonomous institution
00:42of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India, which sets standards for all drugs
00:47that are manufactured, sold and consumed in India.
00:51The MOUs are as follows.
00:53A memorandum of understanding signed between the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission, Ministry
00:58of Health and Family Welfare, India, and the Ministry of Health, Trinidad and Tobago on
01:03Pharmacopoeia Corporation.
01:05The second is a grant program.
01:07Indian grant assistance for the implementation of quick impact projects, which will support
01:13initiatives not limited to infrastructure upgrades such as roads, education, health, sanitation.
01:20The Government of India will provide grant financing on assistance for up to US$50,000 with a maximum
01:27five projects per financial year.
01:29The third memorandum involves cooperation on diplomatic training between the Ministry of
01:34External Affairs in India and the Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs here in TNT.
01:41The two countries also signed an MOU for cooperation in sport, though no further details were given.
01:48The final memorandum will see the expansion for cultural exchanges and studies.
01:54For cultural exchanges between the Government of India and the Government of Trinidad and
01:58Tobago for the period 2025 to 2028, and MOU number six, a memorandum of understanding on
02:05the establishment of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Chair of Hindi and Indian
02:11Studies at the University of the Western East Trinidad and Tobago.
02:15The Parliamentary Secretary heralds the agreements as beneficial for both countries.
02:20The commitments outlined in these MOUs reflect our shared vision of progress, prosperity and
02:26partnership.
