The father of murdered childcare worker Molly Ticehurst has broken down while expressing his frustration at the delays in the case against her alleged killer.
00:00The case against Daniel Billings, the man accused of murdering Molly Tyshurst, has once again been adjourned in Forbes local court.
00:09It's been 18 months since Mr Billings was charged with killing his former partner Molly Tyshurst at her home in Forbes in the New South Wales Central West.
00:19The 30 year old is facing 17 charges, including murder and sexual intercourse without consent. No pleas have been entered into the matter so far.
00:29Defence lawyer Diane Elston told the court that she was seeking an adjournment for the matter as she hadn't had the opportunity to interview her client in the days leading up to today's hearing after strike action by Corrective Services in New South Wales last week.
00:45She told the court that an adjournment was needed so she had the opportunity to meet with her client, telling the court,
00:52in my experience the jail can be subject to lockdowns just as they were last week and they wouldn't want us to be in a situation where we're in the same position again.
01:02Magistrate Michael Mayer granted the adjournment with the matter to return to Forbes local court on November the 14th.
01:10Ms Tyshurst's family and friends appeared in court today as well.
01:14Her father, Tony Tyshurst, spoke with media outside the courthouse after the matter was adjourned, telling that he was very disappointed with the outcome and frustrated over the delays.
01:26Instead of getting closure, all we get is anxiety, sadness and heartache.
01:31I've been in touch with a local member Phil Donato and he has offered to raise my concerns about the delays and numerous adjournments with the Attorney General.
01:44The matter will return to Forbes local court on November the 14th.
