00:00So you mentioned advocacy.
00:02Yeah.
00:03Obviously, I have to bring up the fact that, you know, we worked on the Hands Off My Porn campaign.
00:10We did the best we could.
00:12Things did not go the way that we hoped.
00:14Trump was elected.
00:16How are you feeling about 2025?
00:19It's weird.
00:20It's weird.
00:20First of all, thank you for bringing me into Hands Off My Porn and doing all the work that we all did and continue to do.
00:27So I'm feeling, I am feeling.
00:31I'm having a lot of feelings.
00:34And this always, you know, I say that like politics, especially electoral politics, it's kind of like a cicada sport.
00:40You like come out like a weird roach, you know, every couple of years, do your thing.
00:44Then you go back and like kind of have to rest.
00:46But we cannot rest, right?
00:48There's so much to do.
00:50There's so much on the line specifically for, you know, our trans siblings in this industry.
00:56Like that is who is going to, that is who is really, I think, folks may come for first.
01:02It's already happening, right?
01:03It's already happening at the legislative level to try to limit access for trans people.
01:09And I think it's so important that everyone realize just how much we lost when Nazis rose to power.
01:16How much the trans community lost when Nazis rose to power in World War II.
01:20There was an entire library and hospital, like full of information on transsexual and transgenderism.
01:30Like, and that was, it was burned.
01:31It was burned.
01:32Yes.
01:33I didn't know that.
01:34Yeah.
01:34Like cabaret, right?
01:36The musical.
01:37We see this world of gender bending and performance and queerness.
01:42Like that was alive.
01:43It was like it is now.
01:46It was like that in Germany before the Nazis rose to power.
01:49So we have a lot to lose and we've lost it before.
01:52And we just cannot let it happen again.
01:55And we have to, us as cis people who access white privilege and have privilege and access
02:01to resources and money, like we just have to put it all on the line for the folks who
02:06are most marginalized and who are really going to get the brunt of this authoritarian Christian
02:11nationalism that we are, we are seeing rise to power in this country.
02:13So protect your trans siblings at all fricking costs, protect brown and black performers
02:21and immigrant performers and, and families of immigrants.
02:24Like that's, it's about to get very serious.
02:26And I don't know exactly what the move is, you know, traditional lobbying and legislate.
02:33I don't want people to become, um, uh, like to give up hope on democracy, but I think our
02:40strategies need to change.
02:41And first and foremost, we have to keep each other safe.
02:44We have to get our resources on lock and make sure that, you know, our physical bodies are
02:50safe first before we go start, um, trying to engage with the current systems of power.
02:56Totally.
02:56And one of the laws of power is to like throw people off balance, right?
03:00Because they're scrambling to like get their footing again.
03:02And I feel like so much of what this administration is doing is like an abusive relationship.
03:08They're trying to throw you off balance.
03:10So you are just left scrambling and you, it's hard to tell and it's hard to pinpoint the
03:14bad things they're doing when you're feeling like it's all chaos, which is what I think
03:17so many of these administrative picks are.
03:19It's just like throw shit at a wall and create chaos.
03:22And so people don't really realize what's happening.
03:24And it's, you know, it's bad, manipulative, abusive boyfriend's tactics, except it's
03:30our government currently.
03:31That's like politics, like one-on-one.
03:33Yeah.
03:34I mean, they do it all the time.
03:35Like, like let's create some like hysteria over shit that doesn't matter.
03:39So we can slide this actual, like really important and effective legislation under the door.
03:45Absolutely.
03:46Quietly.
03:46So what I keep telling everybody is to like, try to not be thrown off because it's not
03:50real until it's real.
03:52Right.
03:52But pay attention.
03:53Yes.
03:53Because they're trying to make things real that really matter and like, don't get thrown
03:58off by the like noise that's happening around you.
04:01Yeah.
04:01Yeah.
04:02But it's so hard to sort through that, right?
04:04Because social media has become so polarized.
04:06I know.
04:07So it just depends on where you're getting your social media from.
04:10And then the algorithm picks what you're watching and then feeds you more of the same.
04:15So, you know, and, and, you know, places like Twitter, which is like so, so MAGA now.
04:21Go Blue Sky.
04:21Yeah.
04:22I mean, I just like, I'm just on there and I'm just getting fed all this stuff.
04:26I'm like, where is this coming from?
04:27I don't.
04:27I didn't follow this person or the person that posted it.
04:30Why is this a suggestion?
04:31This person just keeps popping up in my feed.
04:33I'm like, who is this?
04:34I didn't follow them.
04:35Yeah.
04:35Like, I don't want to see this content.
04:37I've actually, honestly, like, I haven't really gone on Twitter since the election.
04:41Turn off all your notifications and put it on the back page.
04:43Because I'm just like, I just like, I can't.
04:45And like, also the infighting in the industry too.
04:48I'm like, it's just like.
04:49It's not, it's not a good place for pretty much anything at this point.
04:52And again, looking at history, this is part of the fascist playbook, right?
04:56You, you buy a publication, you buy a, in this case, a town hall.
05:01And what was Twitter pre-Musk?
05:03It was an incredible resource for activists.
05:06Yeah.
05:06Too bad, so sad.
05:08Like, of course, of course he bought it.
05:10Of course.
05:11Like, and so it's really important that we get something like we had in like 2012 Twitter
05:17back away for us to add.
05:19So I have faith in Blue Sky.
05:20I'm not on there yet.
05:21I do have a URL parked.
05:23It's the same, Suzy Q Media.
05:25Michael's on there.
05:26But we all need to decide.
05:28And I think that Blue Sky is the best choice.
05:30We have to get off Twitter.
05:31It is a fascist tool at this point.
05:34That's all it is.
05:34We saw during the election, like everyone pretending like it's fine.
05:38But I mean, when we were working on Hands Off My Porn, I was like, can we buy some ads
05:41on Twitter?
05:42No.
05:43And yet every single ad that I, I could not go three tweets without seeing a MAGA ad.
05:47Yeah.
05:48So it's just like, that's not a safe place.
05:50Yeah.
05:50That's not a safe place.
05:51That's not a place for democracy.
05:52That's not anything like it was when it started, when most of us got on there and built the freaking
05:57platform.
05:58So it's tough, but you know, the MAG-its, pardon me.
06:03I got off Twitter at a certain point.
06:06Remember when DJT was kicked off before the sale?
06:11Truth Social became a thing.
06:13And like, can we say that Truth Social did not like help Republicans gain power?
06:19It definitely did.
06:20It definitely did.
06:21So we need our Truth Social.
06:23And I think that might be Blue Sky for now.
06:25We'll see.
06:25I actually signed up for Blue Sky a long time ago.
06:28And then I was wondering what happened to it.
06:30I hadn't like posted on it.
06:31And then it's been popping up again.
06:33I was like, I've got to go back in there.
06:34Yeah.
06:34I'm confident.
06:35But again, we keep us safe.
06:37We are, you know, an incredible industry.
06:39And as long as we don't allow white supremacists and TERFs, which is trans-exclusionary radical
06:49feminists, people who don't think trans women are women or that trans people should have
06:52the same rights that they should, which is all the same rights we all have.
06:56But we can't let those themes, like, you know, come into our community.
07:00And, you know, there's controversy about, you know, the list or whatever.
07:04People who supported MAGA and GOP candidates such as Trump.
07:10And, you know, we have to call out violence and oppression and isms when we see them.
07:18You know, it's like we have a predominantly trans crew.
07:23And we make predominantly trans porn.
07:25And for folks who watched your first interview with me know I come from a peep show background
07:30in the Lusty Lady Theater, which only hired cis women as dancers.
07:33But the reason our lights stayed on as a business was the trans porn in the arcades.
07:39Like everything in this industry happens because or happens now because black and brown folks
07:45and trans folks built the adult industry.
07:48And like it's really on the backs of folks who have done so much work and get the short
07:53end of the stick every minute.
07:56And so it's very important that we just stand in solidarity with the most marginalized right
08:01now and not let, oh, that person is fine, even though they actively don't support trans
08:06people, even though they may shoot with them.
08:09Like, ew.
08:10Get away.
08:11Sorry.
