24:19were secretive.
24:20We didn't have any

24:24about anything gay
24:25or drag or anything

24:27You know, you just thought
24:27something was wrong
24:28with you.
24:29First queens I ever saw
24:30at The Backlot
24:31were queens called
24:32Marty, Tiggy, and Summer,
24:34and they were trans queens,
24:36and I fell in love with it.
24:37It just opened my eyes up.
24:39It was like another world.
24:40In Calgary in the 80s,
24:42the drag,
24:43it embodied everything.
24:45So, you know,
24:45when people say,
24:46you know,
24:46you have to start
24:47accepting bio queens.
24:48Well, of course we do,
24:48but we had bio queens
24:49back then,
24:50and we had trans queens.
24:52We had all kinds of queens.
24:53Everybody was included
24:54and everybody was accepted.
24:55And I don't know
24:56what happened along the way.
24:57Everybody calls it
24:58bio queen,
24:59but in Vancouver,
25:00we call them hyper queens
25:01because it's like
25:01hyper feminine,
25:03because like bio queen
25:04is like trans exclusionary.
25:06I've never even
25:07heard that before,
25:08and thank you
25:09for explaining that to me.
25:10AFAB queen is what
25:11we use more in Edmonton.
25:12Personally, like,
25:13I find it transphobic,
25:14to use the term AFAB
25:16and AMAB
25:16for like cis people
25:18because it was like
25:18originally a term

25:22to be able to
25:22describe themselves,
25:23to say like,

25:25this at birth
25:26and I don't identify
25:28that way anymore.
25:29I've kind of seen it
25:30as an umbrella term

25:34who's not a cis man.

25:37simply doesn't make sense
25:38as a term
25:39for cis people to use.
25:41I think it's created
25:42a lot of confusion.

25:43I've been addressed
25:45as an AFAB queen
25:46and people just
25:48automatically assumed
25:49that I was a woman.
25:50That's not how I identify,
