The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has carried out another delivery of Su-35S multirole fighters to the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS), marking the sixth batch handed over in 2025. The announcement was made through UAC’s official Telegram channel, which shared footage of the aircraft being sent to Russia’s Ministry of Defense. The exact number of fighters included in this shipment was not disclosed, although the published videos show at least two aircraft undergoing pre-delivery procedures at the manufacturer’s facilities. According to the state corporation Rostec, the new Su-35S units were produced under the current state defense order valid until 2030, as part of Russia’s tactical aviation modernization and fleet renewal program. The aircraft underwent both ground and flight tests prior to official delivery. “As part of the tasks set by the Minister of Defense for the supply of high-demand weapons and equipment, the Aerospace Forces crews have completed acceptance of the Su-35S. We thank the engineers and technicians for their professionalism and dedication. The Su-35S has proven itself as a reliable aircraft complex capable of performing virtually any mission assigned to operational-tactical aviation,” said a VKS pilot quoted by UAC. Rostec further emphasized that Russian aircraft builders have “increased the production pace of modern combat aircraft”, describing the Su-35S as “the most effective fighter in the world today.” According to the corporation, the model is equipped with advanced sighting and long-range weapon systems, capable of performing both air-superiority and strike missions against land and naval targets, day or night, under any weather conditions. “UAC maintains high production levels in support of the Russian Ministry of Defense. This year, we plan to deliver new batches of operational and military transport aircraft,” said UAC Director General Vadim Badeha. According to the monitoring site Oryx, Russia has lost at least eight Su-35S fighters since the beginning of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. These aircraft are typically used to provide air cover for Su-34 fighter-bombers and are armed with R-77 medium-range or R-37M long-range missiles, deployed in missions over Ukrainian territory.
