The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), part of the Russian state conglomerate Rostec, has confirmed the delivery of a new batch of Su-30SM2 multirole fighters to the Russian Ministry of Defence, as part of the execution of the State Defence Order. The aircraft have already passed all required ground and flight tests and have been dispatched to their operational units. According to Rostec, the Su-30SM2 stands out as one of the most advanced fighters currently in service in the country. “The Su-30SM2 is considered one of the best aircraft, highly rated by pilots. It is distinguished by its high maneuverability, excellent flight characteristics, and a wide range of armaments, including long-range weapons. The aircraft is capable of employing virtually all current types of airborne weaponry,” the corporation stated. The state conglomerate also highlighted that the fighter received a more powerful radar, offering greater detection range and accuracy, along with a modern electronic warfare system capable of countering enemy aerial attack assets. According to the company, the aircraft has proven its effectiveness in the special military operation, accounting for hundreds of destroyed air and ground targets, including Patriot air defense systems. The Russian Navy also took part in the aircraft acceptance process. One of the involved pilots described the model as essential for national protection. “The super-maneuverable Su-30SM2 multirole fighters are among the most modern combat aircraft of the Russian Armed Forces. They safeguard the country’s borders across the entire perimeter.” The Su-30SM2 represents a direct evolution of the models currently in service, incorporating upgraded avionics, new electronic warfare systems, and enhanced weaponry. According to UAC, the modernization was carried out in accordance with technical requirements from the Ministry of Defence, significantly boosting the aircraft’s combat capabilities.
