00:04Me fueling another KC-30 while flying a KC-30 myself was a particularly special moment for
00:10me, since this was not just the first time for me, it was the first time for the whole MMU.
00:14As a pilot, head-to-air refueling requires a lot of precision and trust,
00:19especially when both aircraft weigh over 200 tons.
00:22As the lead tanker, we have to be very precise and stable in our flying.
00:27While the receiving aircraft getting closer to us, he has a very small box that he can

00:35A lot of trust is placed in the other pilot and crew of that aircraft so that we can move
00:41into a contact position and then their boom operator will extend the boom out towards
00:47us and seeing that come down right in front of our faces is quite daunting.
00:53It felt great to be able to plan, breathe and go flying with other air crew from other
00:59nations and really to prove that all of our common procedures and techniques work.
01:05It makes me feel special to be part of this, since it's so far away from home, but luckily
01:13the procedures and everything is the same that we have at home, so it feels like being at home.
