Helicopter will remain in service in Siberia after receiving artwork dedicated to the geologist who took part in the discovery of around 150 oil and gas fields in the region.
Russian airline UTair has unveiled a Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter featuring a special livery dedicated to Farman Salmanov, one of the most prominent figures in oil and gas exploration in Western Siberia. The initiative marks the 95th anniversary of the geologist’s birth, commemorated on July 28, 2026.
The aircraft was presented in Khanty-Mansiysk, in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, also known as Yugra, one of the main centers of Russia’s energy industry.
