00:08A state-of-the-art electric sedan that was introduced in China with impressive technology and an enormous charging capacity.
00:16The first generation of the P7, which was launched in 2020, was already able to establish itself as one of the most successful models of the Chinese manufacturer.
00:25But now XP is setting significantly higher standards with the new edition, both in terms of design and performance, range and technical features.
00:37Visually, the P7 remains true to its elegant lines, but now looks even sportier and at the same time aerodynamically optimized.
00:46With a length of 5 meters, a width of 2 meters and a height of just 1.4 meters, it presents a slim profile.
00:55The wheelbase of 3 meters ensures ample space in the interior, while the front section with narrow lighting units and flowing transitions reduces the drag coefficient to an excellent value of 0.2.
01:08Compared to its predecessor, the vehicle has grown by 12 centimeters, which benefits not only the appearance but also the amount of space available.
01:16The interior is a clear statement in terms of high-tech.
01:21A 5.6-inch touchscreen, which can be moved or rotated on three axes, forms the central control element.
01:27It is complemented by a slim driving display and an impressive 87-inch head-up display that extends across the entire front with Huawei technology and augmented reality function.
01:40The vehicle can be operated either by touch or via an AI-based voice assistant, which is supported by three self-developed Turing AI chips.
01:53With a combined computing power of 2,500 tops, these not only take care of infotainment and navigation tasks, but also control the driver assistance systems that enable level 3 semi-autonomous driving.
02:04In terms of technology, the new P7 relies on an 800-volt architecture, which enables extremely fast charging.
02:14With a maximum charging capacity of 486 kilowatts, energy for a range of over 500 kilometers can be recharged in just 10 minutes, at least according to the Chinese CLTC cycle.
02:27Charging from 10 to 80% takes just 11 minutes.
02:30Two different battery packs are available, one with almost 75 kilowatts and one with 92 kilowatts.
02:39Depending on the version, the range extends from 72 to 820 kilometers.
02:46For the all-wheel drive, which also has a second electric motor on the front axle, Xpeng specifies a range of around 750 kilometers.
02:53The performance figures are equally impressive.
02:57The basic version with rear-wheel drive delivers 376 horsepower, while the all-wheel drive variant offers a whopping 594 horsepower and sprints from 0 to 100 kilometers in just 3.7 seconds.
03:11Despite this dynamism, Xpeng places great value on comfort and, instead of the sedan, comes standard with a two-chamber air suspension with level control.
03:19The new P7 is clearly different from the also-new P7+, which is less geared towards sporty performance and high-tech, but offers more space and a large tailgate for families who don't want an SUV or van.
03:33Xpeng has not yet released any exact figures for the P7 in terms of price.
03:41All that is known is that it will be priced in the domestic market at around 36,000 euros.
03:48This represents a slight increase compared to the P7+, which costs between 24,000 euros and 28,000 euros there.
03:55The price is expected to be significantly higher in Europe, not least because of the EU's penalty for Chinese electric cars and the import costs.
04:08Since the predecessor is already available in Germany, there is a good chance that this second generation will also be offered here.
04:16The response in China has already been overwhelming.
04:19Within the first six minutes of its presentation, around 10,000 pre-orders were received.
04:24With its combination of modern drive technology, long-range, luxurious equipment and striking design, the P7 is also likely to attract a lot of interest outside of China.
