00:00It will be the first Zero Tailpipe Emission Crossover to join the Subaru Electric Stable.
00:08We're positioning it as an electrification of our current Subaru Crossover Model.
00:16Now if you're in the Baltics, the UK countryside in the Hregs of Germany you came from the Czech Republic this morning.
00:23Chances are you're familiar with the Outback, but you may not know how it ended up as our flagship model in Europe.
00:30You see, when it launched in 1995, the Outback was one of the first mass-produced all-wheel-drive crossovers, offering the capability and grand clearance of a go-anywhere all-wheel-drive car.
00:43With the comfort and handling of a family state car and tons of luggage space, you might recall other brands entering the crossover segment later.
00:50The V70 Cross-Country in 1997, the A6 Road in 1999 both contributing to the success that crossovers had over the years.
01:01I'm sure you're aware of that, but you might not know that the Outback led the way in Europe four years earlier.
01:07And it has remained one of Serbu's top-selling models for nearly three decades.
01:12Hugely important model for us.
01:14Now without diving too deeply into demographics, the Outback typically appeals to drivers who value all-drive reliability and everyday practicality.
01:24It is favored by a wide range of professionals from doctors and healthcare workers, vet dog owners, IT people who need space for their bulky equipment to other enthusiasts needing space for bikes and surfboards, skis, fishing gear, golf gear and so on.
01:43Many of them drive regularly in tough conditions, whether it's rough terrain, slippery roads, or harsh weather conditions.
01:50I can think of at least two more things Outback lovers have got in common.
01:56First, they don't see driving as a ch. Not something they feel they have to do, something they genuinely enjoy doing.
02:06Second, safety is not a high factor to them. They high-value safety, as one of them put.
02:11The ultimate luxury in a car is knowing it will get you home safely, on time, every time.
02:20Our new crossover model and, tuned specifically with those people in mind, to out our first crossover, electric crossover, looks more muscular.
02:35Lower by 30 millimeters, shorter.
02:37Some information for the media here.
02:39It actually sits on the longer wheelbase, 105 millimeters longer, 2850 millimeters in total to be precise, which gives it a very generous trunk space.
02:50Compared to the Solterra, it is 155 5 millimeters longer, 131 millimeters longer, and 95 millimeters higher.
03:02It can fit four large suitcases and large bulky items like documents.
03:06Design-wise, it carries the ball-dynamic styling cues inspired by the original Outback, including a strong front and rear profile, rugged side cladding, roof rails, newly designed 18- and 20-inch alloy wheels that reinforce its go-anywhere spirit.
03:23Now, probably more important to our super current Outback drivers included, it will be winter-ready.
03:33One of the new headlamp features is they are designed to prevent snow from sticking to them.
03:37They come with washer, specifically tuned to the requirements of northern regions.
03:44It will also have a rear screen wiper.
03:47Rear screen wiper was important.
03:50Our northern driver said it was an absolute must-have on a winter-ready-looking safety-wise.
03:55The new model comes equipped with a full suite of ite-like driver-assistant features.
03:59I'm not going to obviously cover all of them, but these include an emergency driving stop system which safely brings the car to the side of the road if the driver becomes unresponsive and signals the need for urgent help.
04:17There's also a secondary collision braking system which locks the wheels after the rear impact to prevent the vehicle from rolling forward helping avoid further collisions or injuries to the drivers and to other road users.
04:29There's a range of additional safety features that will be fitted as standard, all reflecting Gooh's deep commitment to drive a passenger and other road users' safety.
04:42In terms of capability, all European specs will come with Subaru's permanent all-wheel drive.
04:50All being electric, it features a symmetrical layout with low-mounted longitudinally positioned engines.
04:56This setup optimizes weight balance and torque distribution across all four wheels front-to-rear and left-to-right.
05:07All European spec versions will also come with 21cm of ground clearance and of course Subaru's X-Mode system as part of the standard features.
05:15The model also debuts the new predictive all-wheel drive control system I mentioned earlier if you remember a technology that predicts load on each wheel and adjusts torque distribution accordingly.
05:31Now, this makes for outstanding grip and control, especially when cornering on wet and snowy surfaces.
05:37Suspension and steering have been specifically tuned by Subaru engineers on the model.
05:44The result is a 21% reduction in body roll and body sway compared to the previous platform and 25% improvement in straight-line stability, meaning less correction than needed.
05:56That's more confidence for the driver and more comfort for everyone on board.
06:00Equipment-wise, the interior share features you've now seen in dashboard all the way to the rear trunk only with more space to enjoy it on long-distance journeys.
06:17Which brings me, obviously, the battery, cruising range, and powertrain.
06:21The model will be powered by a 74.7K gross capacity battery.
06:30It will feature preheating function up to 150K charging reach 10-80% in about 30 minutes will be an option.
06:39To fit a 22K onboard charger, it will deliver 450 kilometers of cruising distance and it will have 1.5 ton of towing capacity.
06:47It will be powered by two electric motors delivering a combined output of 280 kilowatts.
06:55That's 375 horsepower.
07:01That's more than twice the power of our current Outback, our 2L petrol Outback.
07:07Performance-wise, it will accelerate from north to 60 mil per hour in just 4.4 seconds.
07:13Now that's not just a step forward, it's a leap into another league entirely.
07:18In fact, it's going to be quicker off the mark than any Subaru production car we've ever built.
07:26Compared to the trusted and composed capability of our petrol Outback, electric iteration will offer a whole new driving experience.
07:33It's going to be faster, sharper, more capable, on and off the road, yet still unmistakably.
07:39And finally the name.
07:45We chose to keep it simple.
07:49It will be called Ute Back as a tribute to a car that builds its name on rugged trails, muddy tracks and snow-covered mountain rows
07:55and as a commitment that we're ready to take it on a new journey.
07:58More than just a letter, the E in E out stands for obviously electric innovation,
08:10but that is also for engineering excellence, for the enduring spirit of adventure of our drivers.
08:14E in EBIC is for experience and explore, for it is it.
08:17That's the passion of those who are driven by what they love.
08:19Thank you for your attention, guys.
08:35Come join me on stage.
08:37We're going to bring the cars back in.
08:43Thank you so much.
08:46Great job.
08:47Looks amazing.
09:17Guys, if we could just turn the music down, just not.
09:28And I just wanted Squeaky to take this.
09:33Thank you all much for coming joining us this morning.
09:36And we wanted to thank our viewers online.
09:39If they still there, yes, they still there, right?
09:42So thank you very much, everyone.
09:44Not which camera I should be looking at, but we really appreciate witnessing this exciting launch.
