00:00The new Kia EV4 is now available to order in two body styles, a 5-door hatchback and a 4-door sedan known as the EV4 Fastback.
00:12Both models mark Kia's entry into the all-electric compact class and are aimed primarily at European customers.
00:18While the A4 hatchback serves as an electric alternative to the popular Kia Seed and is also produced in Slovakia, the sedan version rolls off the production line at Korea's first all-electric vehicle plant in Gwangmang, South Korea.
00:35The design of the EV4 combines modern lines with functional use of space, with the hatchback model having an overall length of 4.4 meters.
00:43Both models are based on the Specially Developed Electric Car Platform, or EGMP for short, in the 400-volt version.
00:56Thanks to this basis, the EV4 offers a range of up to 265 kilometers according to the WLTP standard, depending on the battery version, which puts it at the forefront in the compact electric vehicle segment.
01:07There is a choice of two batteries with capacities of around 58 and 81 kilowatt hours.
01:15The larger of the two batteries not only enables the maximum range, but also fast charging with a charging capacity of up to 128 kilowatts.
01:25This allows the energy storage device to be charged from 10 to 80% in around half an hour.
01:31A practical solution for longer journeys.
01:33Regardless of the battery selection, the electric motor of the EV4 always delivers 204 horsepower, which enables acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in up to 7.4 seconds.
01:46The top speed is limited to 170 kilometers per hour for both variants.
01:52The average power consumption is around 15 to just over 16 kilowatt hours per 100 kilometers, depending on the equipment.
01:59Kia offers the EV4 in three equipment lines, air, earth, and GT line, which build on each other and each offer additional comfort and technical features.
02:13Even the basic equipment includes the new network infotainment system called Connected Car Navigation Cockpit.
02:18This includes not only a comprehensive navigation and entertainment offering with video streaming, but also online connectivity via Kia Connected.
02:29A continuous panoramic display integrates a digital instrument cluster and a navigation screen, each with a screen diagonal of 31.2 centimeters, as well as a touch screen for climate control with a size of 12.3 centimeters.
02:42Other standard features include a keyless entry system, LED headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an extensive range of modern driver assistance systems.
02:56The starting price for the EV4R with the standard battery is around 37,600 euros.
03:04The long-range version starts at around 43,200 euros.
03:11The EV4 Fastback, which is only available with the large battery pack in the upscale earth and GT line trim levels, starts at around 47,000 euros.
03:19The price includes a 7-year manufacturer's warranty and an 8-year warranty on the battery or up to 160,000 kilometers mileage.
03:33The new EV4 models can be ordered now.
03:38First deliveries are scheduled for the end of the third quarter of 2025.
03:42With this offering, Kia is underlining its ambitions in the field of sustainable mobility and setting a new benchmark in the electric compact class.
