00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog.
00:03Today, we're all about the revised Tesla Model S for the 2025 model year.
00:10After more than a decade on the market, Tesla has finally given the Model S, which has been
00:15available since 2012, an update. However, the reactions have been mixed. The updated version
00:21is heavier, more expensive and in some areas even slower than before. This suddenly makes
00:27the cheaper Tesla models, the Model 3 and Model Y, appear much more attractive to many buyers.
00:35In particular, the top version, the Model S Plaid, has suffered losses in terms of top speed.
00:42While the previous version reached up to 322 km per hour, it is now only 240 km per hour.
00:51However, the range has been slightly improved. It is now around 600 km, instead of the
00:57previous 560. The weight has also increased. The Model S plate now weighs over 11 kg more
01:04than its predecessor. The all-wheel drive version has remained virtually unchanged in weight.
01:12There is no trace of the technological innovations found in the Cybertruck, such as steer-by-wire,
01:17rear-wheel steering or an 800-volt battery pack. In the new Model S, many Tesla fans are disappointed
01:22by this restraint. For example, users on Tesla's official channel openly complain about the lack
01:30of progress, especially in comparison to the competition from Rivian, Lucid or Kia with the
01:35EV9. The criticism? Tesla is falling behind, lacking innovation and range. Modern technology and greater
01:44practicality are expected instead. But there are also improvements. The revised model is supposed to offer
01:51a more pleasant and quieter ride thanks to new speakers and a refined chassis design.
01:58The noise level in the interior has been significantly reduced through targeted measures such as a more
02:03effective new active cancellation system. Tesla has also integrated color-adjustable ambient lighting,
02:10which now covers not only the dashboard, but also the center console and door areas at the front and rear.
02:17Even the LED lighting in the footwell and in the door pockets can now be individually adjusted.
02:24Another new feature is the Adaptive High Beam, which is available together with an improved
02:28aerodynamic design and new rims. The exterior color Frost Blue has also been newly introduced.
02:35A new front bumper camera with its own cleaning system ensures greater comfort when parking and maneuvering.
02:44The Joke steering wheel Einstar has been eliminated from the basic versions and is now only available
02:49for an additional charge of around âŹ900 in the plate version.
02:55In terms of price, the new Model S in the basic version with all-wheel drive,
02:59which offers a range of around 660 km, costs around âŹ79,000. The Model S plate now costs around âŹ92,000.
03:10Even if the improvements are not bad, the driving experience has been refined in small details.
03:17Although the new Tesla Model S is already available in the United States,
03:20a specific date for its launch in Europe has not yet been announced.
03:24Given the declining sales figures for years and the fact that the Model S and Model X are now only listed
03:33as other models in Tesla's financial reports, it is hardly surprising that the update was rather reserved.
