00:03Today we're talking about the new and surprisingly affordable electric vehicles from MG's premium brand IM.
00:09The IM5 sedan and the IM6 SUV.
00:14These two models, which were first unveiled at the Melbourne Motor Show in April,
00:19mark MG's entry into the upscale electric vehicle segment in surprise with their extensive range of features,
00:24innovative technology and comparatively low prices.
00:30At market launch, both models will be offered in Australia in three trim levels,
00:34premium, platinum and performance, each for the IM5 sedan and the IM6 SUV.
00:41The entry-level premium version, equipped with rear-wheel drive and a 75kW battery, will cost around âŹ7,000.
00:51The platinum version with a 100kW battery, also with rear-wheel drive, will cost around âŹ64,000.
01:00Those who opt for the top performance version with all-wheel drive and also a 100kW battery can expect to pay around âŹ55,000.
01:10According to MG's configurator, deliveries are expected in around 12 weeks,
01:15meaning delivery towards the end of the third or beginning of the fourth quarter of this year.
01:18As Peter Chow, CEO of MG Motor Australia, announced, IM has now been officially launched on the Australian market
01:27after a successful premiere at the trade fair.
01:31The IM models are set to impress with state-of-the-art technology, artificial intelligence, innovative features and high-quality interiors.
01:39Interested parties can place reservations now.
01:45Both vehicles, the sedan and SUV, are offered with different drive configurations,
01:50either with an electric motor on the rear axle or with two motors for all-wheel drive.
01:54The basic version comes with a battery with 75kW,
02:00which gives the IM5 sedan a range of up to 505km according to the NEDC cycle or 490km according to the WTP cycle.
02:11The IM6 SUV has a WLTP range of up to 450km.
02:16The larger battery with 100kW allows the IM5 performance to achieve a range of up to 575km,
02:27while the Platinum version even achieves up to 655km WLTP range.
02:34The IM6 should also have a correspondingly increased range,
02:38although no exact figures are available for this.
02:42Fast charging is extremely efficient.
02:44The charging range from 30% to 80% can be reached in just over 15 minutes with a large battery,
02:52and in around 20 minutes with a smaller one.
02:55In terms of performance, the performance models offer impressive data.
03:01With a system output of up to 572kW,
03:04the IM5 sedan accelerates from 0 to 100km per hour in just 3.2 seconds.
03:10The IM6 SUV only needs 3.480 seconds to do this.
03:16Figures that are otherwise only found in significantly more expensive sports cars.
03:21In terms of technology, both models boast numerous high-tech features.
03:26These include a four-wheel steering system that reduces the turning circle of the mid-range vehicles to the level of a small car.
03:32There are also intelligent driving aids such as the one-touch reverse function,
03:38with which the vehicle automatically reverses the last 100m in tight or confusing parking situations.
03:46Other intelligent parking aids make maneuvering in urban areas even easier.
03:50The interior also offers a premium feel.
03:55A huge 26.3-inch display and a second, smaller 10.5-inch display provide all the information and entertainment relevant to driving.
04:04For many audio users, 20 speakers are distributed throughout the interior and ensure a particularly high-quality sound experience.
04:11Two different interior designs are available.
04:14There are five exterior paint finishes, including Dover Beige and Highland Grow.
04:18The warranty period is seven years, provided that servicing is carried out within the official IMH dealer network.
04:27The vehicles are expected at dealerships in the coming months and promise to set new standards in the affordable premium electric segment,
04:34not only in terms of appearance and technology, but also in terms of driving dynamics.
04:41So anyone looking for a state-of-the-art, powerful and at the same time affordable electric vehicle should be tempted by MG's new brand.
