00:00Welcome to the video from the Car Magazine Tuning Blog about the B-Moto Terra.
00:10As always, you can find the link to read the article in our magazine in the video description.
00:17B-Moto presented the Terra at the 2023 Milan Motorcycle Show.
00:22A touring supermoto with further developed hub steering for more suspension travel and a supercharged engine from Kawasaki.
00:30The company was founded in 1973 by Valerio Bian, Giuseppe Mori, and Massimo Tamburini, with the first letters of their surnames forming the company name.
00:43After financial difficulties, Kawasaki took over a majority stake in B-Moto in 2019.
00:49It therefore seems only logical that the latest bimotor is equipped with the supercharged four-cylinder from the Kawasaki H2.
00:55200 horsepower at 11,000 revolutions per minute and 137 newton meters of torque at 9,500 revolutions per minute ensure powerful propulsion.
01:07The parallels to the Kawasaki H2 end with the engine, however.
01:10The chassis of the B-Moto Terra is a completely independent design and was developed by Pierluigi Marconi, who created the legendary B-Moto Tassi back in 1990.
01:22The Tay series is characterized by front wheel suspension with a swingarm and wheel hub steering.
01:27The advantages of this complex design are the low immersion under brake pressure, which results in exceptional stability during braking.
01:37In addition, the structural separation of steering and suspension enables more refined response under load, while the reduction of unsprung mass improves handling.
01:48However, this is offset by several disadvantages, complex and costly production, limited steering angle, and limited feedback at the limit.
02:03Since its acquisition by Kawasaki in 2019, BIMOT has offered a further developed HESI, equipped with the Kawasaki H2 engine and available for a price of 64,000 euros.
02:14BIMOT then presented the Terra for the first time at the EIGMAR 2023 in Milan.
02:22A super-touring engine with suspension travel of 145 and 13 millimeters, as well as an extended steering angle of 35 degrees on each side.
02:32That's 16 degrees more than on the Tessi H2.
02:37This improvement required a redesign of the front end.
02:40The steering movement is now transmitted directly from above to the hub via lever system from the steering head, toggle levers, and plates, to which the brake calipers are also attached.
02:51The basic design, however, remains identical to that of the Tessi H2.
02:56The engine forms the central element of the chassis.
03:00Plates are bolted to the engine at the front and rear, in which the swingarms are mounted, as well as the steering head and frame.
03:06The rear central spring strut is offset to the right, creating space for a second spring strut, which supports the front swingarm via lever system.
03:16High-quality components round out the overall package.
03:23Forged magnesium wheels, four-piston brake calipers from Brembo's luxury Steimar series, and a powerful dual-disc brake system with 330-millimeter discs at the front.
03:33In addition to the engine, BIMOTOR has also adopted Kawasaki's modern assistance technology.
03:38These include cornering abs, lean angle-sensitive traction control, four riding modes, and cruise control.
03:47The BIMOTA Terra was listed at the show with a dry weight of 198 kg.
03:53An official price has not yet been announced.
03:56However, the Terra is unlikely to be much cheaper than the Tessi H2.
03:59Was the information on the BIMOTA Terra interesting?
