00:17The 2025 Chevy Optra is a vehicle that is not available in North America.
00:22In different markets, the model goes by different names, including Chevy Aveo and Chevy Sonic.
00:27In Mexico, it is known as the Aveo, in South America as the SAIL, and in Egypt as the Optra.
00:35Its powertrain is particularly interesting, as the compact vehicle is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder engine designated L2 transmission options are available,
00:47a continuously variable automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission.
00:51The engine output is only 98 horsepower, while the maximum torque is 104 newton-meters.
01:02Compared to the previous Chevy Sonic with the Ecotec engine, the power level seems rather modest,

01:11In Egypt, the Optra is available in two trim levels, LS and LT.

01:29The LTV version offers a number of additional comfort features such as alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, automatic air conditioning, and a two-tone gray-black interior design.

02:13Previously, the Baujun 36 was marketed there as the Chevy Optra before General Motors decided to introduce a new generation of this name.

02:27While the Chevy Aveo is offered in Mexico as both a sedan and a hatchback, the Optra is only available as a sedan in Egypt.

02:45The 2025 Chevy Optra is manufactured at two locations, the SGMW plant in Luzo, China, and the GM plant in 6th of October City, Egypt.
02:57For comparison, the Chevy Sonic, which was discontinued in the U.S. in 2020, was one of the last subcompact vehicles to be produced in the United States, specifically at the Orion Assembly plant in Michigan.
03:09Unless interest in subcompact vehicles increases significantly in North America, it is unlikely that this model will be offered there.
