00:00How to survive life when your toddler still keeps waking you up in the middle of the night.
00:05Sleep hygiene has been a huge thing for me.
00:08I saw a doctor on the TV actually with an interest in anti-aging
00:11and he was talking about sleep and maximizing sleep for everyone.
00:16He's got a 3-2-1 rule.
00:21So three hours before bed, no more food.
00:24So that's why it's nearly 6pm and I'm just having a simple bowl of vegetables for dinner.
00:28So that's the last thing I'm going to eat.
00:30I'm going to try and finish eating by 6, which is what I do most nights now.
00:34So by the time I go to bed at 9, I've already digested a lot of this food.
00:38So just a simple dinner.
00:40Two hours before bed, limit fluids.
00:43The doctor was actually saying no more fluids two hours before bed.
00:46So then getting up to go to the toilet won't disrupt your sleep.
00:50And one hour before bed, no screens.
00:53So the 3-2-1 rule is three hours before bed, no more food.
00:57Two hours before bed, no more fluids.
01:00One hour before bed, no more screens.
01:02And that's going to hopefully maximize the sleep you need.
01:06And then your body will be able to do that all-important repair while you're sleeping.
