00:00Following a facelift, the French brand DS, part of the Stellantis Group, is now launching its compact sedan as an all-electric model.
00:10Not only is the new name DS Nogor 4 striking, but also the complete departure from gasoline engines.
00:17Effective immediately, the DS Nong 4 will be offered exclusively as a pure electric car, plug-in hybrid, or full hybrid.
00:25Orders should begin in a few weeks, and the market launch is scheduled for the end of September.
00:31This move toward a fully electric version comes as no surprise.
00:36Peugeot, also part of Stellantis, made a similar development with the E408 in the fall.
00:43Both vehicles do not use the new STLA medium platform, but continue to be based on the revised EMP2 platform.
00:51Despite its age, the platform has been technically adapted.
00:54The DS Nogor 4 uses a 157kW electric motor, equivalent to around 213hp.
01:02Its torque is 343Nm.
01:05The drivetrain is built by a joint venture between Stellantis and NIDEC.
01:10The transmission comes from Valencia.
01:13The battery is also new.
01:14Instead of the previous 54kWh, the usable capacity is now 58.2kWh.
01:22This gives the DS4 a range of up to 450km.
01:25The battery consists of 18 modules and uses a cell chemistry of 80% nickel, 10% manganese, and 10% cobalt.
01:36Charging is done with 11kW of alternating current or up to 120kW of direct current.
01:42According to the manufacturer, a charging process from 20-80% takes around 30 minutes.
01:47This is hardly a top value given current standards.
01:50The dimensions of the new compact sedan are 4.4m long, 1.87m wide, and 1.47m high, with
02:00a wheelbase of 2.79m.
02:04This makes the DS4 significantly shorter than a Peugeot counterpart, which is particularly
02:09noticeable in the trunk.
02:11Only 360L of luggage space are available.
02:15Despite technical similarities, DS aims to differentiate itself through premium features.
02:19These include large 72cm diameter wheels, retractable door handles, and a redesigned front end with
02:26a distinctive light signature.
02:28The DS Netin 4 relies on modern connectivity, including the integration of artificial intelligence
02:34via chat GPT.
02:36Depending on the trim level, palace, or ETO, features such as heated, ventilated, and massaging
02:42front seats are standard.
02:44In the ETO variant, matrix LED headlights are standard.
02:49Other features of the model update include a slightly extended hood by 1.2cm and a 1cm lower
02:56body.
02:59In conjunction with new air deflectors, this should improve aerodynamics.
03:03The cockpit features a new 10.25-inch display, visually inspired by the luxury DS-08 model.
03:12It is complemented by a 10-inch touchscreen in the center console, which controls the DS-IRIS
03:17infotainment system.
03:19An enhanced head-up display, connectivity packages such as Connect One or Connect Plus, and numerous
03:25driver assistance systems are also available as options.
03:28The electric version comes standard with EV route guidance including battery preconditioning.
03:35For the first time, the DS-N4 features a VZL function, which allows external devices such
03:40as e-bikes or laptops to be charged directly.
03:44Paint finishes include pearl white, crystal gray, pearl black, night flight, and cashmere blue.
03:50All versions are produced at the Opel plant in Russellsheim.
03:56The predecessor, in 2021, was the first DS model to be manufactured there.
04:02The new plug-in hybrid version will have an electric range of around 30 kilometers, 18.6 miles,
04:08more than before, for a total of around 65 kilometers, 40.6 miles.
04:12It has a system output of 165 kilowatts, 165 horsepower, and uses a 40.6 kilowatt-hours battery.
04:18The full hybrid version has an output of 107 kilowatts, 107 horsepower.
04:23DS has not yet announced official prices.
04:27The Polonium-2 hydride, which starts at around 47,000 euros in Germany, offers a guideline.
04:34Due to its positioning as a premium model, the DS Nendonga 4 is likely to be higher.
