00:11Today, we're all about an exciting new electric vehicle that DS Automobiles has unveiled,
00:16an electric fastback crossover with an impressive range of 750 km, which is around 466 miles.
00:22This model, which is expected to be called the DS-8, is set to hit the market before the end of 2024
00:31and promises to be a real head-turner. The first teaser images already give us an idea of what to
00:37expect. With an aerodynamically optimized body, which includes a curved roofline, active air
00:44intakes at the front and flying buttresses, the DS-8 achieves a drag coefficient of just 0.24.
00:52The design focuses on elegance and functionality.
00:57The missing radiator grille is replaced by the striking DS-Pixel Vision lighting design with
01:02vertical daytime running lights, which is reflected in the sharp LED design of the taillights.
01:09The subtle plastic cladding on the sides and the raised chassis give the vehicle a clear
01:14crossover character, which at the same time represents a stylish alternative to typical
01:18coupe SUVs.
01:22The teaser images show a vehicle in a gold-black camouflage wrap, which is based on the design
01:27of the DS Formula E cars.
01:30This wrap emphasizes the technological aspirations and the sporty character of the model, but
01:35already gives an idea of the first details.
01:39Unfortunately, DS has not yet released images of the interior, but there is talk of exceptional
01:44technology and sophistication, including a mysterious feature in the driver's seat.
01:48Previous spy photos suggest a luxurious interior, equipped with a four-spoke steering wheel, a
01:57digital cockpit and futuristic controls on the center console, complemented by high-quality
02:03materials.
02:04The vehicle is based on the STLA medium architecture, which is also used for other models of the Stellantis group such as the
02:11Peugeot 3008, 5008 and the Opel Grandland.
02:17Interestingly, despite having the same 98 kWh battery, the DS-8 has a range of 750 km, which is 50 km longer than the
02:26Peugeot E38.
02:30The platform also supports mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid drives, so DS could certainly keep other options open for future
02:36variants.
02:39DS has already announced that it will only introduce electric vehicles from 2024 onwards.
02:45The DS-8 thus marks the beginning of a new era for the brand.
