00:00Welcome to the video from the CarMagazine Tuning Blog, where we present the 11 coolest pickups for 2024 and 2025.
00:12Look forward to almost 50 minutes full of highlights, trends and impressive models.
00:16Today we take a closer look at the revised pickup, which has its roots in the impressive history of Peugeot pickups and comes with some notable innovations.
00:31First introduced in 2020, the Landtrak builds on a tradition that began with models such as the 22 from 1938, the 404 from the 1960s and the 504 produced in Nigeria until 2005.
00:48This history illustrates the importance of the brand, especially in Africa, where Peugeot vehicles are valued for their robustness and versatility.
00:56Designed for markets such as Africa, the Middle East and South America, the Landtrak shares its platform with the Shanghai Kaizen F70, which is manufactured by the Chinese company Shenzhen Banang Motor.
01:11The vehicle belongs to the 1-ton pickup class, a segment in which around 2.5 million vehicles are sold worldwide each year.
01:21The revised Landtrak is available in around 40 countries and offers numerous configuration options, from single and double cabs to special versions for professional and leisure use.
01:35The new version of Landtrak features a revised, efficient diesel engine that delivers an impressive 200 horsepower and a maximum torque of 450 Nm.
01:51The design has also been upgraded.
01:54The front end is dominated by a vertical radiator grille, which is adorned with the new Peugeot logo.
02:00LED daytime running lights in the shape of the brand's typical claws give the vehicle a modern appearance.
02:09In addition, new glossy black fog lights surrounds and a reinforced lower front section ensure a robust look.
02:18The rear has also been redesigned, including a modern bumper and an updated pulgo lettering on the tailgate, which is located between the 3D LED taillights.
02:29With a length of 5.30 meters for the double cab and 5.90 meters for the single cab, as well as a width of 1.29 meters, the Landtrak offers impressive dimensions.
02:42The loading area is designed to transport 2 euros pallets in the double cab and 3 euros pallets in the single cab.
02:50The interior has also been modernized.
02:53A central 10-inch HD touchscreen display and the familiar toggle switches, which provide quick access to main functions, define the design of the dashboard.
03:03A new addition is a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, which promises modern functionality.
03:11The front seats can be configured either as individual seats or as a multi-flex 3-bench seat, the latter of which impresses with its versatility.
03:20The rear seat bench can be folded down in a 60 by 40 ratio or completely, thus offering additional loading options.
03:28In terms of drivetrain, Poentrac offers several engine variants.
03:33In addition to the 2.2-liter turbodiesel with 200 horsepower, there is also a 1.9-liter diesel engine with 150 horsepower and 350 newton meters and a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with 210 horsepower and 320 newton meters of torque.
03:50The gasoline engine can be combined with either a manual or automatic transmission.
03:56The 8-speed automatic transmission of the more powerful diesel is equipped with an electronic control system, which enables precise gear selection and optimal use of the torque.
04:07Those who prefer the driving experience of a manual transmission also have the option of a 6-speed transmission.
04:15In summary, the new Poi Landtrack offers a balanced package of performance, design and functionality, whether for professional use or for leisure.
04:26This vehicle impresses with its versatility and adaptability to different markets.
04:36A robust yet sophisticated midsize pickup that will make the hearts of truck enthusiasts speed faster.
04:45The Frontier combines reliable performance, advanced technology and a bold design to impress both in everyday work and on adventures.
04:55Under the hood is a powerful 3.8-liter V6 engine that delivers a whopping 310 horsepower and 381 newton-m of torque.
05:04Combined with a new gear automatic transmission, it provides impressive acceleration and impressive pulling power.
05:11Speaking of pulling power, with a maximum towing capacity of 3048 kg and a payload of up to 730 kg, the Frontier is a real workhorse that still doesn't neglect recreational fun.
05:25The Pro 4X version is particularly interesting for off-road fans, as it features Bilstein shock absorbers, underbody protection and an electronically lockable rear axle differential.
05:36Perfect for rough terrain.
05:38The exterior design of the Frontier is striking and modern.
05:42A striking radiator grille, sleek LED headlights and wide-wing panels give it a powerful appearance.
05:51The high-strength steel frame ensures not only durability but also stability, whether on or off the road.
05:59Depending on your taste, you can choose between 17 and 18-inch alloy wheels, while special off-road tires are available for the Pro 4X trim.
06:09New to the color range are the bolder gray pearl and deep blue metallic options, which make the Frontier even more individual.
06:16Inside, Nissan focuses on comfort and versatility.
06:21The cabin is available in king-cap or crew-cap configurations, depending on whether you need more space for passengers or cargo.
06:28High-quality materials such as leather upholstery and soft-touch surfaces ensure an upscale ambience in the higher trim levels.
06:36The ergonomic seats with zero-gravity technology offer optimum comfort, even on long journeys.
06:43Practical storage spaces, including under the seats and clever storage compartments, round off the well-thought-out interior.
06:51In terms of technology, the Frontier is well-equipped.
06:55The infotainment system offers an 8-inch touchscreen as standard, or even a 9-inch as an option, and supports both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
07:04Nissan Connect services offer practical features such as remote start, vehicle location and emergency assistance.
07:11For music lovers, there is a Fender Premium sound system available, while a 7-inch digital display in the cockpit clearly shows all important vehicle data.
07:22Safety is also not neglected.
07:24With the Nissan Safety Shield 360, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot warning and cross-traffic warning are standard equipment in almost all models.
07:36A 360-degree camera system makes maneuvering and navigating on tight trails easier.
07:43Those who often tow trailers benefit from the Trailer Stability Control, which offers additional safety in critical situations.
07:50The driving experience is also impressive.
07:53The Frontier offers smooth suspension and precise steering, whether on the highway or off-road.
07:59Thanks to various driving modes, the vehicle can be adapted to different conditions such as towing, off-road driving or everyday use.
08:09The versatility is rounded off by practical features such as a spray-coated cargo bed, adjustable tie-down points and LED cargo bed lighting.
08:18Accessories such as a roof rack, cargo bed extension and toolboxes make the Frontier the ideal partner for every adventure.
08:27Today, we're all about the all-new 2525 Toyota Tundra pickup truck in Australian specification.
08:40A vehicle that's causing quite a stir.
08:43Toyota is making a bold move into the Australian market with this model, leveraging groundbreaking technology and innovation.
08:50Most impressively, the Tundra has undergone a six-year re-engineering process that has converted it from left-hand drive to right-hand drive.
08:59This was made possible by a collaboration between Toyota Australia and the Walk & Shaw Automotive Group, who together have achieved a new level of engineering excellence.
09:09The Tundra meets Toyota's highest global standards for quality, durability and reliability.
09:16Sean Henley, Sales and Marketing Vice President for Toyota Australia, emphasizes that this is no mere conversion.
09:24Rather, it's a major overhaul that incorporates components from the Land Cruiser 300 series to perfectly meet Australian driver requirements.
09:37This was also helped by the Tundra Insider Program, which launched in September 2023.
09:42Hundreds of testers put the pickup to the test in real-world conditions, providing valuable feedback that was directly incorporated into further development.
09:53The Tundra will initially be available in the limited trim level from November 2024, followed by a premium version in the second quarter of 2025.
10:01Both variants are based on the proven TNG platform, which is also used in the Land Cruiser 300 series.
10:10Under the hood, a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6i Force Max engine delivers concentrated power, 326 kW of power and 790 Nm of torque in combination with a Zhang automatic transmission.
10:23The towing capacity of 4.5 tons is also impressive.
10:28A clear sign that this truck was not only built for comfort, but also for hard work.
10:34The premium version sets new standards and luxury with features such as massage seats, a panoramic sunroof and a 10.9-inch head-up display.
10:45While Toyota plans to reveal more details in the coming months, it is already clear that the Tundra will far exceed the expectations of Australian customers.
10:54With this vehicle, Toyota is not only offering a new means of transport, but a real experience for discerning drivers.
11:07The latest electric pickup truck to conquer the Australian market.
11:14BYD, the Chinese technology group headquartered in Shenyang, is once again showing its ambitions with the launch of the Shark in Australia on October 28, 2024.
11:24The Shark 6 is a new energy vehicle designed for off-road use and has already been successfully introduced in markets such as Mexico, Panama, the Dominican Republic and, most recently, Brazil.
11:39Now BYD is venturing further down under with this hybrid pickup, while the model was unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April.
11:48Powered by a combination of electric and internal combustion engines, the BYD Shark achieves an impressive output of over 430 horsepower.
11:57The pickup accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
12:11The two electric motors share the workload, with the front motor generating 170 kilowatts of power and 310 newm of torque, while the rear motor provides support with 150 kilowatts and 340 newm of torque.
12:27A highlight of the Shark is its electric range.
12:32It can cover up to 100 kilometers in pure electric mode, while the combined total range is an impressive 845 kilometers.
12:43Added to this are modern features such as intelligent all-wheel drive, independent suspension and the vehicle to load function.
12:51Thanks to this function, the Shark can supply external devices with power, which can be very useful in certain situations.
12:59The BYD Shark measures 5,457 millimeters in length, 1,971 millimeters in width and 1,925 millimeters in height.
13:11With a generous wheelbase of 3,260 millimeters, the pickup offers plenty of space and stability on any terrain.
13:20The underlying DMO platform, where DM stands for dual mode and O for off-road, makes it the perfect companion for demanding journeys on and off the road.
13:30The Shark 6 was unveiled in Cambodia at the end of October, where the model is set to launch at a price point equivalent to around €54,000.
13:39This makes Cambodia the first Southeast Asian market for the Shark.
13:43Interestingly, the Shark has not yet been available in China, but was primarily developed for international markets.
13:53With partners such as Harmony Auto and an increased focus on the Asia-Pacific region, BYD is demonstrating its strategy to further expand in the NEF segment.
14:08Today, we're talking about the RAM Rampage, the compact pickup that will be launched in 2025 with new features and improvements, but only for the Brazilian market.
14:18The RAM Rampage, which was revived last year under the RAM label, is now receiving some exciting updates that will make it even more powerful.
14:27The RAM Rampage is produced in Brazil and unfortunately remains unavailable in the US and Europe for the time being.
14:34For the 2025 model year, the Rampage will receive a more powerful version of its diesel engine.
14:41The previous 2.0-liter turbodiesel has been replaced by a new 2.2-liter unit that delivers an impressive 200 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque.
14:52That's an increase of 30 horsepower and a substantial torque upgrade of around 70 Nm.
14:59The power is transmitted via a new gear automatic transmission, which is designed to reduce fuel consumption with longer gear ratios of around 14%.
15:08In the city, the new diesel consumption is around 9 liters per 100 km and on the highway it is around 7 liters per 100 km.
15:18However, the Rampage is not necessarily a sports car for speed enthusiasts.
15:23It reaches 100 km per hour in under 10 seconds.
15:27However, a few performance figures are exciting.
15:30It accelerates from 60 to 100 km per hour in 6.4 seconds and the intermediate sprint from 80 to 120 km per hour takes 8 seconds.
15:40In addition to the more powerful diesel variant, the sporty RTM also offers the petrol variant with the 2.0-L hurricane engine,
15:50which offers an impressive 272 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque and makes the Ram Rampage the most powerful and fastest pickup ever built in South America.
15:59A new addition is the Big Horn trim, which will be launched as a cheaper entry-level variant and will only be available with the diesel engine.
16:12Prices have not yet been officially announced, but the Big Horn is likely to be significantly cheaper than the Rampage Rebel,
16:18which is currently available in Brazil for around 45,000 dollars.
16:23That would be around 42,000 euros.
16:27In Brazil, the Rampage comes standard with all-wheel drive and the new automatic transmission.
16:33Technically, the pickup is based on the small wide 4x4 LB platform and therefore shares components with models such as the Jeep Compass,
16:41the Alfa Romeo Tonali and the Dodge Hornet.
16:44The lesser-known Jeep Commander, which is sold in India as a seven-seater SUV, is also based on this framework.
16:54In the US, a midsize pickup could certainly generate interest, and about a year ago, UAV Vice President Rich Boyer revealed that one could be produced at Stellantis Illinois factory.
17:07However, when journalists asked for details, ROM declined to comment and Stellantis even announced that it would delay the reopening of the factory.
17:15A damper for all fans hoping for the Rampage.
17:20In addition to the Rampage, there are other Stellantis pickups that are not yet available in the US, such as the 1200 chassis,
17:27which is related to the Peugeot Land Track and the Fiat Titano and is based on a model from China.
17:34There is also the Fiat Toro-based Ram 1000 and the compact Fiat Strata-based Ram 700, neither of which are available in the US or Europe.
17:44The Scout Traveler Concept and the Scout Terra Concept, which are scheduled for 2027.
17:56First, remember to subscribe so that you don't miss any exciting updates on future vehicle launches.
18:03With these two models, Volkswagen is breathing new life into a true US legend and bringing the Scout brand back onto the market.
18:14Both models, the Traveler as an SUV and the Terra as a pickup, represent robust off-road vehicles that are primarily aimed at a clientele that values a practical and functional vehicle.
18:26The focus is on craftsmen, cowboys and farmers, people who need a real workhorse and not a luxury car.
18:34The Terra is seen as a direct response to the Tesla Cybertruck, but has a much more conventional design and therefore appeals to a different target group.
18:45While the Cybertruck appears almost flashy and aggressive, the Terra and the Traveler present themselves as down-to-earth and likeable, almost a little nostalgic like the old Scout models.
18:55Visually, both stand out with their angular and clear lines, while the interior provides a modern contrast.
19:03Large displays and yet many real buttons and keys make operation intuitive and user-friendly.
19:10Under the hood of the two Scouts is state-of-the-art technology.
19:14Both models are purely electric and offer an impressive range of 550 kilometers.
19:20That's easily enough for long trips and everyday tasks.
19:25But that's not all.
19:27Thanks to the 800-volt technology, the batteries can be charged with up to 350 kilowatts, which greatly reduces recharging times.
19:36With over 1,300 newton meters of torque, the vehicles also have a powerful start and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just three and a half seconds.
19:49That's a real sports car performance.
19:52If charging is not yet so well developed, especially in rural areas of the USA, VW has a clever solution ready.
20:01The models can optionally be equipped with a small gasoline engine that serves as a range extender.
20:07This increases the range to over 800 kilometers, which is particularly practical for long journeys.
20:14The vehicles thus combine the best of both worlds.
20:18Modern electrical technology and the reliability of a classic combustion engine.
20:23The two new Scouts also score points in terms of manpower.
20:27With a towing capacity of up to 5 tons and a payload of around 1 ton, they are ideally equipped for heavy loads and demanding tasks.
20:36The Terra also offers a frunk, a front trunk that can be used to conveniently store tools or a cooler.
20:43Perfect for long days in the field or on a construction site.
20:48In addition to the technical features, the production location is also exciting news.
20:54The vehicles will be manufactured in South Carolina and are expected to create over 4,000 new jobs.
21:01This is not only an economic success for Volkswagen, but also a clear signal to American customers.
21:08VW is serious about its comeback in the USA.
21:13Although the two models are initially intended for the US market, export to Europe is certainly conceivable.
21:20With their electric drive technology and rustic appearance, the Traveller and the Terra could also arouse interest here in Germany, especially because they do not appear quite as radical and special as the Cybertruck.
21:35With a solid technical basis and a clear focus on utility, these models definitely have the potential to gain a foothold in the European market.
21:50The oversized pickup that shows that size is sometimes everything.
21:55But can it also impress without the legendary V8?
22:00We are on a journey to find out.
22:03Before we go into detail, let's take a moment to remind you.
22:07Don't forget to subscribe to our channel so you don't miss any more exciting videos.
22:13First impressions. Massive, solid, and dominant.
22:18On European roads, the Ram 1500 looks like a relic from a bygone era, when gigantic pickups with thundering Hemi V8 engines were still a symbol of pure power and freedom.
22:30But while we in Europe are increasingly discussing zero-emission cities and space-saving electric cars, Stellantis, the parent company of Ram, is bringing this colossal piece of the American dream to Europe, now in its fifth generation.
22:45Without the legendary V8, but still impressive.
22:49At almost six meters long, two meters high, and with a stately radiator grill that at first glance looks like a wall of steel, the question arises.
22:57Why do you need such a large vehicle in Europe?
23:00Anyone who lives in urban areas will quickly realize that the Ram 1500 is not the ideal choice for narrow streets and small parking spaces.
23:08But away from the cities, in the countryside, where space is not in short supply, this pickup unfolds its true potential.
23:15In Sweden, Norway or even in the vast expanses of Canada, this is where the Ram makes sense.
23:20It is a workhorse that scores points especially with tradesmen, farmers and adventurers.
23:26The engine and the performance. Let's take a look under the hood.
23:29In 2024, there will be no more roaring V8.
23:34Instead, the Ram 5 will offer two 3.0-liter pure six-cylinder engines from the new hurricane engine family as well as a 3.6-liter V6.
23:44The V6 comes with a 48-volt hybrid system and 305 horsepower, while the more powerful six-cylinder Baturbo can rev up to an impressive 420 horsepower or even 540 horsepower.
23:57It may no longer have the iconic sound of a V8, but the Ram 5 is by no means lacking in power, even in its new, more environmentally friendly version.
24:07From the first few meters, you will immediately notice how quiet the new engine is.
24:12No V8 rumble, no roar, just a gentle purr that seems almost untypical for a pickup of this size.
24:19But what the Ram loses in sound, it gains in comfort.
24:24The drive is smooth and the steering so precise that you could almost forget how massive the vehicle actually is.
24:34Design and features. Visually, the Ram has hardly changed since its introduction.
24:38The silhouette is classic, the front end is solid, and the ground clearance is high.
24:42All features that make the Ram unmistakable.
24:45The cargo area offers space for over a ton of payload and can be flexibly designed.
24:51A special highlight is the innovative Ram Box cargo management system, which creates additional storage space on the outside and is also illuminated.
25:00Practical for anyone who needs to safely transport tools or other bulky items.
25:05There is even an onboard power outlet, which allows tradespeople to plug in their electrical devices directly to the vehicle.
25:13Inside, the Ram shows its luxurious side.
25:18The seats are more reminiscent of armchairs and the dashboard features a huge 14.5-inch infotainment system that is easy to use.
25:27An additional display for the front passenger is optionally available, which is particularly practical for entertainment or navigation on long journeys.
25:36The interior is spacious overall and those who value comfort will not be disappointed here.
25:42No matter whether you are sitting in the front or back seat, there are no problems with space in the Ram 1500.
25:49No no HR driving impression.
25:52But how does such a colossus drive in Europe?
25:56At first glance, you might think that the Ram 1500 is confusing and cumbersome.
26:01But that impression is deceptive.
26:03Thanks to the high seating position, you always have a good view of the road.
26:07Maneuvering in narrow streets requires some practice, but the Ram is surprisingly easy to steer.
26:14And when things get really tight, the rear-view camera helps to steer the large vehicle safely.
26:20The new system for towing a trailer is particularly impressive.
26:25Using a small joystick, the driver can adjust the frame perfectly to the trailer, making hitching up child's play.
26:33The Ram then unleashes its full power on the motorway.
26:37The six-cylinder engine pulls powerfully and you feel like you're being pushed along the roads.
26:43It's a feeling of power and control that few vehicles of this size can offer.
26:48And the best thing about it is that despite its enormous size, the frame never feels sluggish or cumbersome.
26:54It always remains agile and the ride is surprisingly pleasant.
26:58Off-road qualities.
27:00When you take the Ram 2500 off-road, it shows its true strengths.
27:05The high ground clearance and all-wheel drive ensure that the Ram can easily master even difficult terrain.
27:11Although the pickup reaches its limits in extreme off-road situations, especially due to its long wheelbase, the Ram is more than suitable for normal off-road use.
27:22The Rebel and RO models are specially designed for off-road use and offer even more ground clearance and more robust chassis components.
27:30Price Performance Ratio and Conclusion
27:34The price range of the Ram 1500 is just as impressive as its size.
27:39The range extends from €62,000 to almost €100,000.
27:45Of course, you can drive the price even higher with individual extras and special features, but even in the basic version, the Ram 1500 offers everything you would expect from a luxury pickup.
27:58Ultimately, the question remains, is the Ram 1500 suitable for the European market?
28:03The answer is yes and no.
28:06The Ram 1500 makes little sense in urban areas.
28:11But for all those who need a lot of space, are looking for a powerful towing vehicle or simply want to experience the American way of life on four wheels, the Ram 1500 is exactly the right vehicle.
28:26Ford celebrated the world premiere of this powerful pickup at the Ear Commercial Vehicles Trade Fair in Hanover, which is intended to make Europe's best-selling pickup more future-proof and offers an attractive alternative to the conventional diesel engine.
28:43The new Ranger plug-in hybrid not only impresses with its impressive electric driving characteristics, but also sets new standards within the Ranger series in terms of torque and performance.
28:55Just like its diesel counterparts, the Ford Ranger PHFI is produced at the Silverton plant in South Africa.
29:03It is powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbocharged petrol engine with four cylinders, which shares the drive work with an electric motor that delivers a maximum output of 75 kilowatts.
29:15Combined with a two-speed automatic transmission, the system achieves an impressive output of 205 kilowatts or 279 horsepower.
29:24This means that the plug-in hybrid Ranger significantly outperforms the most powerful Ranger drive to date, the 3.0-liter V6 diesel with 240 horsepower.
29:33The maximum system torque of 690 Nm makes the Ranger PHF the most powerful model in the range.
29:40The electric motor is cleverly integrated between the crankshaft and transmission, so that the regular mechanical all-wheel drive of the combustion engine versions can still be used.
29:51The Ranger plug-in hybrid comes with all-wheel drive as standard, which is particularly interesting for users who often travel with heavy loads or trailers.
30:02The towing capacity is 3.5 tons, while the payload is up to 1 ton despite the additional battery weight.
30:11The traction battery is located below the loading area between the frame carriers, which hardly affects the off-road capability and at the same time improves the weight distribution when the loading area is empty.
30:23This has a positive effect on the handling.
30:27As standard, the Ranger PFO is equipped with heavy-duty rear axle suspension, which provides additional stability.
30:35The battery of the plug-in hybrid has a net capacity of 11.8 kWh, which enables a purely electric range of 50 km.
30:44Another highlight is the power onboard system.
30:48The traction battery can be used as a power source for 230-volt devices via sockets in the loading area wall and the interior.
30:56This allows power tools, leisure equipment or even a coffee machine and cool box to be operated on the road.
31:05Various selectable programs are available for driving.
31:09In hybrid operation, both drives can be used together or the electric motor can be selected as the sole drive.
31:16It is also possible to save the current battery level for later electric journeys.
31:23Should the traction battery run out, the petrol engine can be boosted to later drive purely electrically in urban areas.
31:30The Ford Ranger will start as a plug-in hybrid in the XLT version at €5,381, while the Wildtrack variant will cost €622,525.
31:41This makes the PV around €2,100 cheaper than the V6 diesel in the Wildtrack variant.
31:48A StormTac special series will also be launched exclusively for the Ranger PAV from €69,800, featuring matrix LED, special wheels, a high-quality sound system and the exclusive chill grey color.
32:02With the announced plug-in hybrid for the Ranger, Ford wants to make Europe's best-selling pickup fit for the future beyond diesel engines.
32:13The focus will be on customers who frequently drive in urban areas, as well as tradespeople and hobby campers who can use the Ford power onboard system as an interesting option for powering themselves on the road.
32:27Although the PV is priced in the same range as the V6 models, its innovative technology and versatile range of applications make it an excellent value for money.
32:42An electric pickup with all-wheel drive that will definitely cause a stir.
32:48With an output of 325 kN, a range of 430 hours and a payload of 620 kg, the Ederun 9 sets new standards in the electric commercial vehicle segment.
33:01While electric pickups are already the main business of electric car manufacturers in the USA, they are still niche models in Germany.
33:10However, Maxxis, a brand that belongs to the Chinese CIS Group and has already launched an electric pickup with rear-wheel drive with the T90IV, is now expanding its portfolio with the Ederun 9.
33:21The Ederun 9 celebrated its world premiere at the IR Transportation and is significantly different from the T90EV.
33:31While the T90EV is 5.37 meters long and has rear-wheel drive, the Ederun 9 is slightly longer at 5.50 meters and comes with all-wheel drive.
33:44This addition not only ensures better traction, but also more driving pleasure on different surfaces.
33:49However, the Ederun 9 offers a lower payload of 620 kg compared to the impressive 929 kg of the T90EV.
33:59Nevertheless, it remains an attractive option for those looking for a balanced mix of performance and functionality.
34:06The Maxxis Ederun 9 is powered by two permanent magnet-synchronous motors, developing 125 kW at the front and 200 kW at the rear, resulting in an impressive system output of 325 kW.
34:22The lithium-iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 102 kWh provides a range of 430 WLTPKM and can be charged at up to 115 volts DC.
34:34A charge cycle from 20 to 80% takes around 40 minutes.
34:39Even assuming a net capacity of 93 kWh, this results in a charging speed of 1.4 kWh per minute, which is slightly slower than the VWi-D4, which achieves 1.9 kWh per minute.
34:55The battery is housed in a robust protective frame with new compartments and features a new channel ventilation system, indicating an air-cooled battery.
35:05For optimum traction, the Ederun 9 is equipped with an all-terrain system that offers six different modes for different surfaces such as asphalt, mud or sand.
35:13There is also a user mode that allows the steering, engine power, recuperation and the response of the especially as well as the height of the standard air suspension to be individually adjusted.
35:26Another practical function is the vehicle-to-load technology V2L, which allows external consumers to be supplied with power via several 2.2k sockets and a 6.6k connection.
35:40Visually, the Ederun 9 presents itself as a double cab with four doors and a generous loading area, the exact dimensions of which are not specified, but can be extended to 2.40 meters thanks to the retractable rear wall of the driver's cab in order to transport longer objects.
35:58In easy-load mode, the loading area can also be lowered by 60 millimeters, which makes loading and unloading easier thanks to the integrated air suspension.
36:10There is also a 236L frunk under the bonnet, in which luggage can be stowed safely and protected from the weather.
36:19The Ederun 9 is also capable of towing trailers weighing up to 3.5 tons.
36:24Inside, the Ederun 9 impresses with two displays arranged side-by-side in landscape format, soft leather and an 8-way electrically adjustable driver's seat with ventilation and massage function.
36:37The two front seats can be easily folded down, creating a nearly flat sleeping area of 1.70 meters.
36:45Ideal for long journeys or overnight stays on the road.
36:48Both the bonnet and the tailgate can be opened electrically, which makes access to the vehicle even more convenient.
36:56The Ederun 9 is expected to receive five stars in the Eurocap crash test.
37:01This is supported by numerous assistance systems such as an emergency braking system and a lane departure warning system, which help to prevent accidents from the outset.
37:10Ultra-high beam technology improves visibility to over 400 meters and significantly increases safety when driving at night.
37:20The Maxis Ederun 9 is scheduled to go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2024, i.e. from October.
37:26Prices will be announced at that time, although many potential buyers may still be focusing on the results of the Sino-European negotiations on EU tariffs, as Maxis, as a subsidiary of the Chinese SG Group, is affected by them.
37:41The Ederun 9 is set to be the start of a larger model offensive by Maxis in Europe, in which numerous new zero-emission models are expected.
37:53In addition to the existing rear-wheel drive T90 EV, the Ederun 9 expands the range to include all-wheel drive, which will further diversify the range of electric pickups in Germany.
38:05The market for electric pickups in Germany is currently still quite limited.
38:12Isuzu has announced an electric version of the DMAX, but it is not yet available, and the Ford F-150 Lightning is currently only available in Norway and Switzerland.
38:23Overall, pickups are niche vehicles in Germany anyway, with around 20,000 sold annually, and electric models are even more so in this segment.
38:32With the Ederun 9, Maxis is sending a strong signal and demonstrating that there is also a growing demand for powerful and versatile electric pickups in this country.
38:45Today, we are talking about the new VW Amarok in the 10 Deserts Edition.
38:55A special model that commemorates an impressive Guinness World Record achievement.
39:00The fastest crossing of 10 Australian deserts.
39:03This record was set by a team of experienced drivers, including Ray Seedlow, Marius Barr and Brad Bowman.
39:09They covered a distance of 6,421 kilometers through the Strits Leckie, Sturt, Stoney, Simpson, Petrka, Great Victoria, Gibson, Little Sandy, Great Sandy and Tanami deserts in just 6 days and 17 hours.
39:25Despite the extreme conditions, the Amarok showed what it is capable of.
39:28Only one tire failed, and that was with a total diesel consumption of 1,199 L.
39:34That equates to an average consumption of 8.7 L per 100 kilometers.
39:39Considering the difficult sand and rocky landscapes, that is quite impressive, even if it is certainly not considered fuel efficient.
39:46The original vehicle that set the record was visually and technically well equipped for such adventures.
39:54Off-road bumpers, additional LED lights, a roof rack, a snorkel, eye-catching decals and four spare tires on the loading area.
40:04The 10 Deserts Edition now presented for the market offers similar robustness, but is visually more discreet.
40:11The more eye-catching details include black door trims, a black cover for the loading area and 17-inch rims, which are designed in black to contrast with the white bodywork.
40:24The technical highlights of the Special Edition include a 40 millimeters higher suspension, which increases the ground clearance to 275 millimeters.
40:34There is additional underbody protection for driving through rocky terrain and the more robust tires make it even better suited for Australian Terran.
40:46Under the hood, however, there is only a 2.0 liter twin-turbo diesel engine with 500 Nm of torque and an output of 207 horsepower, coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
40:59Although the drivetrain is solid, the more powerful 3.0 liter V6 from the record-breaking vehicle would certainly have generated more excitement in view of the record-breaking history.
41:10The 10 Deserts Edition will be available in Australia from the second quarter of 2025 and will range in price from the Amarok Live 9,490 EU approximately.
41:225,027 in the Amarok style to the Amarok style 69,700 W 41,870 error.
41:30It is not yet known how many models will be produced. However, the limited availability should increase the appeal of the vehicle.
41:36Toyota is setting standards with the revised Helix, as the popular pickup not only gets hybrid technology, but also an impressive upgrade in the off-road version GR Sport.
41:52The launch of the new products was given at the EIA Transportation in Hanover, where the hybrid pickup celebrated its premiere.
42:01Two major innovations await us.
42:04Firstly, the 2.8L turbodiesel will be equipped with a belt starter generator, which makes it a mild hybrid.
42:11According to Toyota, this technology saves around 5% fuel and at the same time improves driving performance.
42:17The starter generator, which also functions as an alternator and starter motor, can provide up to 16hp and 65Nm of torque when accelerating.
42:28A lightweight lithium-ion battery weighing just 7kg provides the energy supply and is stowed away under the rear seat bench to save space.
42:37In addition, the hybrid system introduces the multi-terrain select system, which offers different driving programs for optimum traction on snow, sand or mud.
42:50Toyota promises not only greater efficiency here, but also more robust off-road capability, as even water crossings of up to 70cm should be possible without any problems thanks to the encapsulated technology.
43:02Secondly, the GR Sports version has been comprehensively revised, with Toyota taking inspiration from the Australian model.
43:11The 2.8L 4-cylinder turbodiesel remains at 204hp and 500Nm of torque in Europe.
43:19Unlike in Australia, where the power has been increased to 224hp and 550Nm.
43:26What is also popular here in Germany, however, is the improved chassis with new wishbones at the front, a reinforced rear axle and an increased track width of 14cm at the front and 15.5cm at the rear.
43:42The result? A firmer and sportier ride with less body roll.
43:46Visually, the Helix GR Sport also cuts a strong figure.
43:52Inspired by the Dakar Rally, the design features a distinctive front section with a new grille, underbody protection and striking black door sill covers that emphasize the wider track.
44:0217-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, red brake calipers with the GR label and robust sill protection tubes round off the off-road look.
44:12Inside, sports seats with red seatbelts, an embroidered headrest and a revised multimedia system await.
44:20Apple CarPlay works wirelessly.
44:23Android Auto requires a cable.
44:25Pricing for the new models has not yet been officially announced, but it is expected that the GR Sport V variant could start at over €60,000.
44:35Sales will start in the first half of the year.
44:38Deliveries will begin in the second half of 2024.
