00:47the first electric muscle car from the US brand Dodge, which is set to hit the market in 2024.
00:54The Dodge brand, which has always been known for its all-American values such as powerful V8 engines,
01:00already unveiled the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept, previously called the Dodge muscle,
01:05in 2021 as part of a Stellantis future presentation led by Tim Kuniski.
01:11Now Stellantis is showing what the production version of the Dodge Charger Daytona will look like.
01:17Although the specific price for the all-electric Dodge Charger 24 is still unknown,
01:21it was announced in September 2024. What is certain, however, is that the new two-door model
01:27is set to roll off the production line at the Windsor plant in Canada from mid-2024.
01:34A combustion engine version and a four-door electric version will follow in 2025.
01:40The new Dodge Charger is based on the STLA large platform and will initially be offered
01:45as the Dodge Charger Daytona SCAT and Dodge Charger Daytona RT.
01:50The entry into the basic version is planned for a later date.
01:55The Dodge Charger Daytona RT comes standard with a Stage 1 upgrade kit,
01:59which increases the output from the original 462 horsepower to 503 horsepower.
02:05The Daytona SCAT pack, on the other hand, is boosted to an impressive 699 horsepower thanks
02:12to the Stage 2 upgrade. Both versions drive all four wheels.
02:16In addition, the PowerShot is available in both versions at the push of a button on the steering
02:41wheel, which releases an additional 41 horsepower for 15 seconds when the accelerator pedal is fully
02:47depressed. The manufacturer provisionally specifies the range as around 510 kilometers for the RT and 418
02:54kilometers for the SCAT pack. The battery has a capacity of 100.5 kilowatt hours and can be charged
03:03from 20 to 80 percent within around 27 minutes with up to 350 kilowatts charging power.
03:12Three selectable recuperation levels are available for efficient use of energy.
03:18In addition, the Dodge offers various driving modes, auto, eco, sport and wet snow, as well as additional
03:25options in the SCAT pack such as track, drag, donut and drift mode, launch control,
03:30lineal and extended race options. With these functions, the energy and temperature management
03:37of the drive in the race spur can be specifically tailored to drag strip use or circuits.
03:43The combustion engine versions of the Dodge Charger will follow in 2025.
03:48A 3.0L biturbo six-cylinder is used, which is offered either as a six-pack hoe with 558 horsepower
03:55or as a six-pack hoe with 426 horsepower. In this way, Dodge remains true to its heritage as a mass
04:03producer while at the same time offering a modern electric alternative. Although the electric charger
04:09does not have a classic combustion engine, it still delivers an impressive acoustic experience.
04:16Its so-called phronic chambered exhaust can produce up to 126 decibels, just as loud as a current Hellcat.
04:25Those who prefer it quiet can mute the electric drive if desired.
04:30Technically, these are speakers and chamber-like exhaust housings under the rear bumper,
04:35which direct the sound to the outside and, with the help of analog components,
04:39produce a more authentic sound than purely digital sounds.
04:44Visually, the Dodge Charger consistently follows the tradition of muscle cars.
04:48The front is dominated by an air wing, which is a homage to the original Charger Daytona.
04:56It optimizes the airflow and ensures improved downforce.
05:01A narrow, dark grille is accentuated by a continuous LED strip, which can also be found at the rear.
05:07The new illuminated logo is called Fratzig.
05:16The Charger is available with 18 or 20-inch wheels and both the two-door and four-door versions are
05:22optionally available with a panoramic glass roof.
05:24At around 5.2 meters long, 2.1 meters wide including exterior mirrors and 1.5 meters high, the Dodge boasts impressive dimensions.
05:37Inside, the 12.3-inch touchscreen and optionally a 10.20-inch or 16-inch digital instrument cluster
05:44are specifically designed for the person at the wheel.
05:47The steering wheel, which is flattened at the top and bottom, is heated and offers numerous controls.
05:55Behind it are paddles for controlling the recuperation.
05:59The center console houses a pistol grip lever for gear selection and start,
06:04stop button and an induction charging surface for smartphones.
06:09The standard leather seat upholstery can be swapped for red or black napper leather on request.
06:14Various sports seat versions are also available.
06:20The storage space comprises around 42L in the so-called frunk and up to 1190L in the trunk.
06:30The 2024 Dodge Charger offers numerous assistance systems,
06:34including a forward collision warning system with emergency braking function,
06:38lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control with stop and go function,
06:42blind spot warning, rear cross traffic warning, traffic sign recognition and drowsiness monitoring.
06:52Optional features include an acoustic parking aid, a 360-degree camera system,
06:57front cameras for a better overview when parking at curbs,
07:00and automatic front or side camera activation when turning.
07:03While the 2024 Dodge Charger is already a done deal, there is still no sign of a successor to the Dodge Challenger.
07:17The extremely powerful Hellcat versions of the Challenger sold around 50,000 units between 2015 and 2020,
07:24but it is often overlooked that the basis of these models still goes back to the Mercedes W 2010 from 1995.
