00:23The reason for this decision by Stellantis, the parent company of Opel, does not seem to be solely economic in nature, but political factors also play a role, as the European Union recently introduced punitive tariffs on electric cars from China, which is likely to make Eisenach an option for manufacturing the B10.
00:46Even if the production costs there could be somewhat higher than at the Polish plant in Tuchu, where Stellantis had originally planned to build it.
00:54With the Liebmotor B10, the portfolio of the Stellantis family is being expanded to include another electric SUV model.
01:03The B10 will make its official debut at the 2024 Paris Motor Show.
01:09It is the third model that Stellantis is bringing from Liebmotor to Europe, as the T3 electric compact car and the compact midsize SUV C10 have already been launched on the European market in addition to the B10.
01:21The B10, a crossover SUV, is positioned between the T3 compact car and the slightly larger C10.
01:30It is based on the modern LEP 3.5 platform from LEP Motor, which is designed for numerous intelligent features and a comprehensive range of driver assistance systems.
01:40While we only know the exterior design of the B10 so far, the interior is still to come.
01:48And Liebmotor has not yet revealed any details about the engine performance.
01:52Visually, the Liebmotor B10 presents itself with an angular, aerodynamically optimized design.
02:00Short overhangs at the front and rear as well as recessed door handles improve airflow and make the interior appear spacious.
02:06The front is almost completely closed and equipped with extremely flat LED lights that illuminate in a striking three-line pattern.
02:16The taillights on the steeply sloping rear also follow this design.
02:22Sensors are cleverly integrated, both on the roof above the windshield and on the roof edge spoiler at the rear.
02:30Additional sensor surfaces are housed in the fenders and designed as ventilation cores.
02:34Particularly striking are the dark pillars and bars along the windows as well as the almost continuous window surfaces on the sides, which create a modern, sleek appearance.
02:47At the rear, a bright LED strip extends across the entire width of the vehicle and reinforces the powerful appearance of the SUV.
02:54There is no information yet on the prices of the B10.
02:57However, it is planned that it will enrich Stellantis, European range of affordable electric vehicles from 2025.
03:08This decision to establish a production plant in the EU shows once again how geopolitical conditions affect the automotive industry.
