00:00Who's your Vladdy Guerrero Best Otani in Battle of Postseason Beasts as Blue Jays Even Series?
00:07You know what, guys? I can honestly care less on who wins this series, but I'll tell you this.
00:12Watching the World Series, it makes me want to call up VisitCancun.org and have their representative tell all the Yankees and Mets players and, of course, team personnel,
00:22get off La Playa, wrap up the vacation, and get back into the gym because both of these New York teams are farther away from making the Fall Classic than we all realize,
00:35especially if you're going to have to take down one of these teams again to make it.
00:38Let's start with the Dodgers. I understand they're the defending champs and they have the number one payroll in baseball by far,
00:45but the Blue Jays, who are, let's be honest, the hottest team in baseball with only the seventh highest payroll in the majors,
00:52are making them work for it. It's like David versus Goliath, but David doesn't have a stone. David's got bats.
00:59Let's break this down. The Mets have Juan Soto, Francisco Lindor, and for now, Pete Alonso.
01:05But to be honest, that doesn't stack up against Shohei Otani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman.
01:11Soto was worth the money in his Mets season debut, and he looked generational at times, but come on, y'all.
01:18Otani's on another level. And as for the Yankees to have the top four payroll,
01:22the game and get BTA'd by their division rival all year, and that includes the ALDS, is what these kids would call diabolical.
01:30So does Cash throw Cash to strengthen the bullpen, or does he bring in more elite bats?
01:36And I'm not trying to make this into some sort of Mets-Yankees slander because, you know, the season's over.
01:41But it's hard to casually watch this World Series play out and not look ahead to the 2026 season and what that could look like.
