00:00in today's world without technology there is no way you can create scale impact I mean those days
00:09have gone when I could go do one-on-one one-on-one and do about 100 of them and work hard 18 out of
00:1424 hours and people say whoa you impacted 100 but today you'll be stupid to do that because
00:19we have technology to do the same impact to millions what you did 200 for anything in life
00:24okay I think technology is important and mobile has become important so to me without technology
00:30I don't see a way forward and only thing is as a management as a leader you should be able to
00:35understand the application of the technology not necessarily technology and that I think is a
00:40tougher part of it the moment you understand how to apply the technology for your consumer
00:44benefit for your employees benefit I think there's a great opportunity so let me give the example of
00:54the charitable trust that I run called train Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India
00:59and there are four projects that we do one for pride one for respect one for inclusion one for
01:05development let me take the project called pride where we created a day called Retail Employees Day
01:11on 12th of December because Diwali Christmas Eve New Year's the best day for the world is the worst day
01:15for the retail employees and we said on 12th of December we'll say thank you to the real employees
01:20it is their Diwali Christmas I have not traveled to 34 countries but last year 20 million press
01:28people celebrated in 33 countries the impact has been tremendous why because the essence of the
01:34project essence of the program went through across and using the technology it leads to so many people I
01:40mean this one example the second example I want to do is on inclusion I mean we run a project which
01:44will be skilled and provide livelihood to persons with disability now in the last 10 years we started
01:50with just 22 this year will skill about 8,500 persons with disability and get them jobs now without
01:57technology this won't have been possible at all okay and this is interland these are people whose
02:00family on hundred and fifty dollars a month and when we get them a job the kid gets another hundred and
02:05fifty dollars so you are talking of doubling their family income we manage end-to-end from mobilization to
02:11livelihood on a technology platform we actually teach them through an LMS which is a technology
02:17platform and now we are looking at saying how do we scale up using technology because we impacted
02:22about 60,000 people I am saying why can't you impact a million I was talking to Sujit just now to say if
02:27you can impact a million and think of a million using the tech platform even a 10 million will not be
02:33difficult so only thing is to think like that and therefore you have to start from the customer if my
02:39beneficiary is somebody who who actually struggles for three times meal then my program has to be
02:45thought through like that I mean I can't think of a program which is we're talking to the white-collar
02:49people mine is a blue-collar and the lowest of the blue-collar it's possible to apply technology and
02:54reach the last stage for me it was fabulous to be here with great leaders and the topic of sustainability
03:01sustainability is very very close to me now I don't look at sustainability as environment waste impact
03:07I look at the SDG goals I mean there are so many goals that you look at it livelihood poverty
03:12elevation so for me the the sustainability world is through the SDG goals and today we touched on
03:19three or four of them and I see I learned a lot I never thought that I'm going to have connect today
03:24which will help me reach the scale it happened today I did not know that I'll be able to meet somebody
03:28who will actually showcase what he's already done number three Vimal was sitting next to me so I think
03:34great knowledge great networking bringing people together and I go very satisfied because I have
03:40found a solution
