Prof. Ashish Desai, Track Chair for 'Enabling Technologies-led Inclusion and Equity' at TaSIC 2026, outlines a track focused on designing and governing DPI, platforms and emerging technologies (including AI) to advance inclusion, equity and trust in digital systems. The track explores the intersection of technology and public service delivery, emphasising socio-technical accountability to build truly inclusive digital futures.

Key sub-themes include:
☑️ DPI for Inclusive inclusive access and participation — expanding access to essential services and enabling co-created, context-relevant digital systems.
☑️ Platforms and emerging technologies for inclusive growth — building accessible, fair, and interoperable digital platforms leveraging AI, blockchain, and other emerging technologies.
☑️ AI and Inclusion: Human-centred digital futures — designing inclusive AI systems that prioritise fairness, accountability, and equitable access to services.
☑️ IT security, law, and ethics for responsible transformation — embedding resilience, ethics, transparency, and accountability within digital infrastructure and governance.

00:00Hi, I'm Ashish Desai, Professor at SPJMR and Track Chair for Enabling Technologies-led
00:09Inclusion and Equity at TASIC 2026. This track is about intersectionalities of technology,
00:18governance and even ethics. We explore how Digital Public Infrastructure, as DPI it is called,
00:29platforms as well as AI work in tandem and work together to create more inclusive societies.
00:40In this track, we have four themes. Firstly, Digital Public Infrastructure or DPI,
00:47which we all know. But what is DPI? Well, UPI, Aadhaar, Account Aggregator, as we use in India,
00:56or PICS in Brazil, are all a part of DPI. Our first track explores how does these technologies
01:04or these infrastructure make a difference to the citizens. The second theme
01:10talks about how platform is managed and governed to ensure inclusivity.
01:20Our third subject is about AI. AI is the new buzzword. But is AI for only the elite
01:31and the technocrats? Or can AI be leveraged for inclusion? And finally,
01:41all technology is good, but we got to be safe.
01:44In our fourth sub-theme, we explore security, ethics, and governance,
01:55including privacy laws. How can they work together to ensure a much more secure digital future?
02:04Research is about intersectionality. So do not hesitate to use different frameworks,
02:14be it from information system, or be it from public administration literature,
02:22or be it from even ethics and governance literature.
02:26The intersectionality adds value to research. We encourage submissions, quantitative empirical works,
02:37qualitative, grounded theories, as well as conceptual frameworks.
02:44Our objective is to come with academic scholarship, which actually addresses how technology,
02:53technology, platforms, and governance can work together to build a secure and more inclusive future.
03:09I look forward for your entries for TASIC 2026. Thank you.
