00:00:0027.7 so that is kind of stabilized just as we pop on but I did not know we were
00:00:06going to go on board with the number two Porsche there I just thought we better
00:00:09keep you up-to-date with what is happening right at the front I think
00:00:13Nakajima that lap actually didn't have the best run with traffic he lost a
00:00:17couple of seconds to Gianni but that's probably the traffic that Neil's just
00:00:22gone yeah so maybe this time around Nakajima will be free of it and Gianni
00:00:26will have this lower lap it's just yeah it ebbs and flows doesn't it yellow flag
00:00:31at Dunlop so replays of the number five car slo-mo you see those nice wheels the
00:00:40aero wheels
00:00:44look at the dirt on him it's quite amazing so much dirt and grime you know certain
00:00:50angles of that Audi look okay and then you show it in a completely different
00:00:54angle and you're like oh no I don't like that there is no angle of that Audi that
00:00:58looks okay okay that's it's you know I don't know who it was who tweeted last
00:01:04night but that when they said it under the cover of darkness it was looking
00:01:08pretty good I thought that's quite a good and Audi built some beautiful racing
00:01:13cars but that one for me just really isn't particularly pretty they should be
00:01:18able to push that just down the hill and Keating car out again to to Benelux drivers in the car
00:01:28there Blake Mullen and Mark Goossens both got a lot experience here I know for a fact that
00:01:36that back in the Porsche P2 days that Blake Mullen has won this race so very experienced around that
00:01:46that here both of those guys driving the states and they've come together for this race this is our
00:01:53leader in P2 now and one hour 20 seconds to go how far can they can a P2 car does he gonna have to
00:02:02come in for like another quick yeah they do I think you could the next GT cars to come in could
00:02:09potentially go the distance that last stint uh you're looking at an hour stint for a GT car but
00:02:16a P2 car no I don't think they can they've got smaller fuel tanks I think they're gonna need to
00:02:21this car's gonna need to stop again for a splash and dash
00:02:26that car's still stuck there yep who is actually in that 48 car it's uh yeah Keating okay well that's
00:02:33uh kind of in theory the uh team owner kind of not team owner but the man who brings the
00:02:39a suspect the budget he owns 10 car dealerships in Texas with and the Viper exchange which is a
00:02:46Dodge Viper Specialist right so that's that's the connection with Mark Goossens Mark Goossens is very
00:02:50much in with uh Viper exchange it's uh his Dodge Viper Speciality dealer it boasts the largest volume
00:02:58of Dodge Viper sales in the world wow that just looks like they instead of pulling him back they
00:03:04just push him forward he's on a hill just get him get him down the hill so uh Mark Goossens you're
00:03:10saying this is 13th start his debut in 1996 he's best finished fourth overall in 97. was that with
00:03:18Cadillac or who was that I'm not really sure fourth overall I don't know whether that would be with
00:03:22Cadillac what is it because Goossens did drive the Cadillac factory entry I'm not sure they were here in
00:03:2797 though but and Goossens also the record holder of four wins in the Zolder 24 hours uh 97 98 05
00:03:35and 07 and did 403 000 for many years 94 95 96 99 and 2000 winning three races now Louisa's got
00:03:44someone in the pits well I've just spoken to the team of the number 28 and obviously they're exhausted
00:03:51and very disappointed they said they don't really know what's happened what the issue is uh
00:03:57she made a mistake on the turn which sent her into the gravel but other than that they can't tell
00:04:02me anymore and obviously they've had so many issues all the way through this race he said to take it
00:04:09down to the final hour is probably the hardest bit about it all yeah you are right there Louisa thanks for
00:04:17that it goes without saying that you know you've come 23 hours it's an emotional journey everyone's tired
00:04:23not many people have had much sleep in fact as i was saying to you we've now yeah we we went off
00:04:29air and we went and had i don't know i guess four four and a half hours i got about three hours 58
00:04:34minutes i got four hours so um you know we're we're the lucky ones we're we bearing in mind i did stay
00:04:42up pretty much 24 hours before that but um yeah but it was nice to get that sleep because you woke us all up
00:04:48with your noisy car yeah because all of them we're trying to have a light people don't know what i was
00:04:53talking about yesterday morning seems a long time ago now at 7 30 i was on track with vips driving
00:05:00them around the circuit in the aston martin uh vulcan and uh yeah we're topping out at um 196 miles an
00:05:10hour down and mozzan straight which is only really a few five miles an hour or so slower than the p1
00:05:17cars are doing and faster than the p2 cars are doing and what he also hasn't said there is where we're all
00:05:24staying we have like a little campsite in the back of the tv compound and it's probably if you were to
00:05:30walk from my caravan to the Ford chicane it's probably 100 meters and what peter was doing was he was
00:05:37basically doing practice starts so to speak just out of the Ford chicane i think to wake everybody up
00:05:42i i did um i did have to stop them after after a little while because my clutch was uh starting to
00:05:48go away and uh since i was driving a 1.8 million pound car i thought i better take a bit more care of this
00:05:55but there's nothing like the sound of a v12 aston martin seven liter with 100 no 830 horsepower to wake up
00:06:03to is there well i suppose it was quite a nice way to wake up and there isn't many better ways
00:06:08the slow zone at zone one two and three that is to retrieve the 48 car as we just go through our
00:06:14leaderboard uh on the screen nothing really has changed at all gaps at the front 28 seconds between
00:06:20nakajima and yanni and then it is uh lapier now sixth place overall yeah everything's stabilized um
00:06:28um gt pro gtm same combination same drivers there uh muller got a one minute two gap over fizikella
00:06:40dixon yeah he's still hovering around behind fizikella seven seconds behind in the ford and then uh gtm class
00:06:48seagal in the lead got a clear lap lead over the porsche of heinemeyer hansen and emmanuel collard
00:06:58just going back to uh what the the pegasus team was saying the 2018
00:07:04you don't want to retire at any point of a 24-hour race and in in my years of competing in in rallying
00:07:14um i did three rally gbs and one of my co-drivers one year a very experienced co-driver professional
00:07:21co-driver and he basically had both ends of the spectrum he'd retired on the first stage like of a
00:07:26of a four-day event and the final stage of a four-day event and it's a little bit like this
00:07:30and i said well which one's the worst he goes the last retiring right at the end he said because you've
00:07:34done all the hard work he said if you're gonna retire out of a big race or a big event do it at
00:07:40the start because you don't know what could have been achieved and he says you could just dream of
00:07:45what could have happened he said but once you've done all the work he says you know what you've lost
00:07:50and he said it's so much harder to take yeah i agree yeah there's a certain point where you know if
00:07:56you're going to go out you want to go out anyway yeah but once you pass that point you're like no
00:08:02keep keep everything together i want to get to the end of this race now that's it well we're inside the
00:08:07final hour 54 minutes to go this is the number five car kazuki nakajima he leads his driver his
00:08:15teammates in the pits sitting there just well relaxing probably is not tell you what the toyota hierarchy
00:08:24must be having kittens right now you know it's they they've come close a couple of times um but
00:08:30never really been able to take it completely to the german manufacturers but here they are in first
00:08:37and third uh yeah it's it's looking close and um i don't know i i as i said i mean it's hard not to
00:08:46have your favorites and i do want to see toyota do well here i mean they they've not won le mans with
00:08:53with this kind of like new generation of car but in 2014 davison and bohimi were world champions
00:09:00but it goes back to what we've said virtually every time we've been on air at any point over the whole
00:09:05week we've been here le mans means so much more so much more than the world championship i mean the
00:09:13yeah the world championship might build up to be a bigger bigger bigger event and i think it is but
00:09:19yeah le mans is world famous it's renowned for these type of cars as the hardest race in the world
00:09:27and uh you know you can see what they're all putting into the budgets required the the expertise
00:09:34required um all the way down from the drivers to the technicians engineers and you know even down
00:09:41the amount of support crew the hospitality people everyone's got their job the shuttle drivers taking
00:09:48the vips around it's just so many so we're in the in the pits of the 84 car now
00:09:57a huge amount of work goes into it 52 minutes to go
00:10:00porsche the big big crowds as you said the grandstands filling up the people on the side of the track
00:10:07are filling up not long to go now danny watts going past our box now still in fourth place fourth
00:10:15place with his lmp2 car um yeah unless there's any big dramas ahead i don't think he's going to make the
00:10:23podium but you never know i'd say just going a little bit further down and the car running is 16th
00:10:29place overall the bruno senna 43 car uh they've won the first round of this year's championship as
00:10:36it happens just to go past our commentary box of the four chicane uh i have to say they have failed
00:10:43really kind of to deliver this weekend i expected that car's strong driver lineup in that albuquerque and
00:10:48senna but they might have just been a little bit closer well again they're another car that
00:10:53kind of put themselves on the back foot a little bit we saw um bruno senna in the wall uh during
00:10:59the practice he he lost it down in indianapolis and it wasn't big damage but it was enough to
00:11:05again put them on the back foot and uh it's hard to recover because even though it sounds like there's
00:11:11hours and hours and hours of practice and qualifying etc but you've got to cycle through three drivers
00:11:16you've got to make sure at least all three have five laps in the night time and that alone takes
00:11:23you know a lot of planning yeah and then we had a red flag so when you're not up to speed early
00:11:30enough and you have mistakes and you're not on top of the handling of the car and you're constantly
00:11:34trying to find a balance with the car and the drivers aren't happy then yeah you you don't get
00:11:39the best out of it and and then that transfers into the race itself and then of course we had that
00:11:45difficult start to the race with all the the heavy rain and picking the right tire and if you made the
00:11:51wrong choice then straight away you'd be a lap down or so so uh yeah it's it's been a a fraught
00:11:58race for that car the 43 senna lmp2 car but uh again he's he's a very balanced person sent a really nice
00:12:07guy i was teammates with him in aston martin in uh 2013 got to know him quite well then and uh yeah a
00:12:15really good guy he's driving all sorts of stuff he's in the formula e of course so yeah he'll he'll
00:12:22come back no doubt
00:12:26this is the third place force we've got the second and third place on pit row in the in the gt pro
00:12:32category yeah fisichella and dixon so fisichella in slightly earlier so these guys will make it to the
00:12:37end now on fuel so unless uh fisichella has some drama in the pits that holds it back and makes it
00:12:46possible for dixon to close up on him then he just needs to keep doing what he's doing
00:12:53it won't be easy to catch muller muller's out front with a good sort of minute gap i can't actually
00:13:00remember when he pitted last but he's um he's in a got a clear lead i'm not sure he has to stop again
00:13:07so that's fisichella leaving the pits
00:13:11so we can almost count the gap from the exit
00:13:22it's a fresh tires going on again that again they've got plenty of laps behind them so they've
00:13:27got the time to put those uh tires on and just to keep it as uh secure as possible huge emotion in
00:13:36in the in the 84 garage still 48 minutes to go but uh a dream for frederick there and
00:13:45tearing a tear in everyone's eyes again we they've got to get it through still but standing from the
00:13:52outside you don't know what these guys have gone through to make that happen and uh
00:13:56a huge amount and it's it's you know it's good of the aco to give them that place in garage 56
00:14:01uh as we've talked about it normally goes to innovative uh engineering and uh they've made it
00:14:08possible for a as you say a quadruple amputee to drive in lemar 24 hours and at the moment
00:14:16knock on wood they look like they're going to finish
00:14:18now we did see out on track just before was sarrazan the sixth car behind the two car there
00:14:28was four laps between those guys so don't think that there was a change of position there four
00:14:32laps between them as they just scroll through the results uh at the moment the the placings not the
00:14:39results of that gge pro battle it's muller fisichella dixon as we know uh fisichella and dixon on out
00:14:45laps here is fisichella being chased by another ferrari behind him the 82 car is in second place the 62
00:14:54car which is the leader of the am category heading out of the pits which probably will be its final
00:14:59stint now and a quick hello to angry dan down in australia listening obviously on the app or maybe on tv
00:15:08good to hear that we're making it all the way down there dan
00:15:11good to hear that uh we do seem to have uh we're just it's it's the pull of the event isn't it it's the pull
00:15:18uh of the event that uh gets people all over the world watching uh the 24 hours of lemar
00:15:33that's what's going on to jeffrey segal probably going to take this car to the finish unless there's
00:15:40any dramas what's that going slowly
00:15:47that's a 48 car 49 car but it was going so it seems to be back up to speed now
00:15:52ah right yeah okay it's gone off it's wide it's managed to it nearly took the corvette in with the
00:15:59corvette that's a real racing driver rookie with rookie error wasn't he was watching the car in
00:16:04front oh he's heading towards the gravel i don't want to go there yeah i got lucky though just just
00:16:11not far enough to snag the wall yeah i mean we're getting 46 minutes 46 minutes left in this race now
00:16:20and uh as we've talked about people are tired and it's these little things just a slip of the mind you
00:16:25might be thinking about something else you might be thinking about what you're going to have for dinner
00:16:28when you get out the car or or the beer that you're going to have tonight and you've got to keep
00:16:32focused on this event all the way to the end aston and corvette side by side
00:16:48i think that was a something 95 car going by the 63
00:16:51was it 97 going by 97 now that's the 90 yeah that's 97 a different different car it's uh sixth in class
00:17:01so they're running fifth and six johnny adam still in the car sorenson now in the 95 car
00:17:12yeah i mean from the point of view of reliability and the job these guys have done
00:17:17i think it's it's really good aston clearly just don't have the pace johnny adam of course born in my
00:17:25hometown kirkody
00:17:29yeah aston just not got the pace here this weekend uh corvette the same
00:17:36yeah it's funny when you spoke to the some of the ford drivers before the race
00:17:40uh of course you speak to aston drivers and the corvette driver and they're saying that ford are
00:17:46sandbagging and ferrari are sandbagging and then you speak to the ferrari drivers and the ford drivers
00:17:51no no aston are sandbagging corvette are sandbagging well it's clear now who's sandbagging and who's
00:17:56not yeah exactly and uh they're not they're not still sandbagging so um yeah been a tough week for
00:18:03them hasn't it for the astins and the corvettes yeah they've got a break just before uh bop break
00:18:08so balance of performance just before the race began they got uh in fact they've got the figures
00:18:12in front of me now uh so no changes to the porsche they got nothing but the corvette got a 0.2 of a
00:18:18millimeter larger restrictor and the aston got a 0.2 larger restrictor the frari had to carry 15 kilo
00:18:26extra and the ford had to carry 10 kilo extra and a reduction in its turbo uh it's made no difference
00:18:34really i mean it probably has made a difference but it's not made a visible difference to what we
00:18:39thought was going to happen with the results it has been a ford versus ferrari fight it would have
00:18:44been great to see a fight with everyone but you know balancing all these cars considering that the
00:18:50the ford and the ferrari are the cars that are developed to these new regulations the aston's a bit
00:18:56older the corvette's a bit older and uh aston of course i think coming with a new car next year
00:19:01so everyone's in a different timeline of their of their development of their cars and yet the ford have
00:19:09been the dominant car so far in this race uh as we say 43 minutes to go not necessarily all finished
00:19:19yet but uh as it stands dirt muller in the ford the pole sitting car is currently leading it's in the
00:19:26pits now in fact um but it has got time on its hands to do as long as it's a nice clean stop last stop of
00:19:34of its of its race physical and the ferrari second place dixon in the ford 69 in third the gap between
00:19:43physical and dixon is 36 seconds
00:19:48the car won the porsche is back on the road so i don't need to remember who it was who tweeted it
00:19:54it was basically wanting to know why it was in the pits it's just back on track after short checks so uh
00:20:00uh nothing really there that was uh matthew was wondering why that was going on a tweet from anthony
00:20:06davison 16 minutes ago delirious with nerves right now no doubt no doubt no no wonder he doesn't want
00:20:15to talk to us yeah exactly so uh yeah we are just coming to the 41 minute mark um yeah we haven't
00:20:26really paid all that much attention it's all been kind of uh stationary up the top we've got nakajima
00:20:32still in the lead he's still cruising right he's not really cruising he's going pretty quick but he's
00:20:37got a 25 second gap over yanni he's not pushing too hard he's keeping it safe that is the sixth car
00:20:45in third place stefan sarazan of course neil jani in second place in the porsche
00:20:51lapping slightly quicker than nakajima but at the current rate not quick enough to make a difference
00:20:57and uh but as as his team we heard the team radio saying his engineers like keep the pressure on keep it
00:21:04on we're going to do this until the end and um as we know it's much easier being the man chasing than
00:21:11the man being chased so um we believe well definitely these cars the front running cars have to stop
00:21:19again there's 40 minutes of the race remaining so at some stage and if i look through my notes i could
00:21:25probably count the laps but uh you know what were you wanting to know it's getting late when these cars
00:21:29are going to come back in again um of course fastler is on his out lap now but we're yeah
00:21:37sadly we're not paying too much attention to that car but looking at the side of that
00:21:44so the side of that number six so it looks to be worse now than it ever has been i don't know whether
00:21:49bits are kind of falling off it as he's going around but so there's quite a messy
00:21:54right the left-hand side to that six car which is losing in time yeah and he's he's lapping a good
00:21:59five seconds six seconds slower than the front running toyota as we said he's got a you know
00:22:05quite a few laps in hand over de grassy he doesn't have the pace to be able to push the car
00:22:11to the limit anymore so therefore he's just got a nurse at home
00:22:15and if that means a podium then that means a podium in third place
00:22:18sarah's i've been in that car for quite a while now i still think uh kobayashi will uh potentially
00:22:31be slotted into that car for the last thing possibly two porsche on pit lane this would be the last stop
00:22:37they can normally do 45 minutes can't they so this would be it yeah this old time these guys know what
00:22:42they're doing so they've timed it so uh last stop should be now car two new johnny
00:22:47total kilometers 5083 was about 3000 something or other miles and a few more to go
00:23:01total time in the pits 35 minutes 57 seconds in the 24 hours of racing so the time left we still got
00:23:12more time left in this race than that's actually spent in the pits
00:23:15okay so as we thought he's there's no way they're going to take the japanese driver out of the car
00:23:35for the finish he will be staying in fuel only tires remain quickest stop possible
00:23:40lights flashing just he's keen for everyone just to move out the way let him through cleanly
00:23:50i'm on my way car 84 well they they're not going to do anything rash because we know they're desperate
00:23:54to get to the end as well
00:24:10in fact yeah so they're having a driver change yeah they're gonna yeah just checking it yeah frederick
00:24:17is gonna is well as soon as it all goes right he's the one who wants to cross the line
00:24:23so uh that would be uh pretty special for him a dream come true is what he described it as
00:24:29was to be able to start le mans you need to keep it together guys so you've still got 37 minutes to go
00:24:40save that emotion for after people having selfies and everything like that but uh he's getting
00:24:46himself ready he's in the garage waiting for that last change to be done
00:24:50again sounds something the car i suspect is going to be on and in lap now uh the the number two porsche
00:24:59on and out lap we know the five cars coming in and it is just basically for fuel only no driver change
00:25:06which we are not surprised about it'll be when the sarrazan car comes in they have four laps sorry nine
00:25:14laps uh sorry five laps it is actually total uh advantage over the car behind so if they wanted to
00:25:20to slot the second japanese driver of the team in the five car on pit road and heading towards its
00:25:28garage not garage it means box it's not going to go in the garage hopefully unless it's a big drama
00:25:34what do they do i think they do the driver change in the garage though don't they no no no are we
00:25:40talking about 85 or are we talking five sorry i'm talking i was talking six but 84 you're right
00:25:46does happen in the garage that takes a bit longer so that that car the 84 car will go into the garage so
00:25:52i'm on a tangent that's okay 61 where is 61 that's on so that's the fourth place for us the um that was
00:26:02a car that was on pole yeah that's uh rob bell's car uh as we said he's got out of the car now
00:26:09so um he must be very keen to have a bit of a chill out and because he's done a lot of miles in that car
00:26:16and uh mock is now in the car um but there's been some investigation over its pit stop we don't know
00:26:23what yet nakajima on his way down pit road 35 minutes and 46 seconds team radio
00:26:29yeah they're going to the end you know they they they've got you know second place for them is no
00:26:41good they they've got a they're just keeping on pushing keeping on pushing trying to force the day
00:26:47your turn they say they say 12 laps to go they reckon i'm sure that's what they said 12 laps to go
00:26:52they believe yeah so just keep pushing keep pushing put them under pressure
00:26:58as you say no one really remembers who finished second exactly even if it goes pop or it goes in
00:27:06the gravel trying to get it it's not it's it's kind of all about winning it is it is
00:27:12the ferrari here the 83 car and it's a strange time of the race now pure and simply because
00:27:26these drivers in theory are like kind of just treading water just going around as as safely
00:27:31and as fast as they can just to make sure that they get to the end now they've got too close but within
00:27:3835 minutes of the finish
00:27:42and these teams yeah the toyota number five won't be able to do it 100 but peter you did say about it
00:27:49that to try and get a formation with the the two toyotas across the line together but also what they
00:27:55will be trying to work out in those last couple of laps is they'll be working out engaging where kazuki
00:28:01is on the track to like make him so he doesn't start a lap with like a minute to go so to speak
00:28:09he'll be wanting to start the lap you want to cross the line basically on three o'clock rather than
00:28:14having to do another lap and do an extra yeah three or four minutes true but just to kind of
00:28:20a 30 second gap a 32 second gap at the end of 24 hour racing is not very much they can't afford to
00:28:27back off too much no but that's what they'll be trying to do as well isn't it kind of like work if he
00:28:31drops a couple of seconds here and a couple of seconds there does that put him into he'll start the
00:28:37he'll cross the line basically as close to three o'clock as possible so you don't have to do any
00:28:40additional running yeah because that last lap will get busy because a lot of cars will start slowing down
00:28:46because they'll want to be behind the leader to make sure that they don't have to do it
00:28:50so it is a straight fight these guys are not coming in other than any problems i don't see these
00:29:04guys coming in for anything else it's 32.69 seconds the gap they said 11 laps didn't they that's what
00:29:13they yes yeah 11 laps but the last radio communication from johnny was before he
00:29:18crossed the line so he he said 12 so same same thing yeah
00:29:25so all attention on this car five
00:29:31you know yeah it's not a bad place to be right now as in as the driver you're not feeling nervous
00:29:37you're just doing your job out there it's worse for the driver sitting here in the pits his teammates
00:29:46they're actually in yeah they're beside themselves with nerves and for him he's just concentrating so
00:29:54much doing his job and for the number two car of course pushing to 100 trying to close that gap up
00:30:01we're looking at degrassi away
00:30:05or is that i can't really see so one of the audi's and yeah he's on his out lap it's probably degrassi
00:30:11so i'm going to be about around about 385 laps depending on when that message came in
00:30:20replay was this is this a position change it is it is a position chamber missed that
00:30:26and manuel collard going past heinemeyer hansen and pulling away in the last 31 minutes of the race
00:30:35so he's uh yeah that car who's been in second place for as long as i can remember has just dropped
00:30:40the third we did talk about collard and rio aguas being a very strong driver pairing uh together
00:30:47with their co-driver of course but um yeah they had issues at the start of the race and now they're
00:30:52on the way up and if this race went on for another um another six hours i'm sure they could
00:30:58probably move up into the lead so that's ferrari one two and um category collard second place at the
00:31:04moment seagal of course up in the lead he's done a lot of laps here every time i seem to look at that
00:31:09car he's in the he's in the driving seat of it
00:31:12muller still leading physical healthy gap there one minute and 19 to scott dixon another 35 seconds
00:31:25and then muka in the last of the sort of front running forwards that didn't have so many problems
00:31:32of course there is a tinkle car back in ninth place last in gt pro that's had its issues the aston
00:31:39martin still running fifth and sixth in class and the chevy only one left now in the pro class and
00:31:48that is ricky taylor at the wheel in seventh place well that ferrari 83 has just gone into second in the
00:31:54pro uh sorry in the am category uh and they finished second in gtm in the first two rounds of the
00:32:00championship as well so they're very consistent
00:32:04so of course fizzy keller he's had he's won here before been on the podium here before
00:32:13it looks like he's going to make the podium again but just not on the step he would like to make
00:32:19for just have certainly all the answers right now
00:32:23i suspect 30 minutes to go though i guess i suspect there's some very
00:32:27very nervous people down in the ford camp the the whole project of this gt ford was kind of
00:32:35tracy cron car in front of them kind of uh bogging them down a little bit it was uh the the ford gt
00:32:43program was kind of born out of celebrating 50 years since ford won like the the famous victory they took so
00:32:50it's it's it's really really special for them to uh to win it on their on their first time back
00:32:59it's gonna be
00:33:03yeah tense times i actually met henry ford the other day uh when i went to see my guy that i knew for
00:33:09gerard quinn and uh he said i'm a bit busy have you met henry ford before no no i haven't it's kind
00:33:15of like royalty within the the motor world so just checking twitter everyone's either fallen asleep
00:33:24or gone quiet which is uh or they're just quite tense and relaxed now just checking the 84 car
00:33:33it's going to have a quick look at where the uh 84 car is
00:33:38it should be oh it's not on that page of my results that's good they've all stopped that's
00:33:45they've all stopped they've gone gray now um oh there's the 84 car so they haven't done the driver
00:33:51change yet um they're still waiting to come into the pits with that car 25 car just coming down pit road
00:33:59pitola on board that one that's the chris hoy car chris hoy not doing uh himself any kind of
00:34:10disservice here because he's kept it on the track he's made no mistakes i think there was one uh
00:34:16pit infringement that i can remember for them the 12 rebellion still going had some injectors in it
00:34:21recently but it is on the track well you know his his skills as a sportsman as a someone with a strong
00:34:28mind are very transferable to motor racing he might not have uh the experience he's i think only been
00:34:35racing for what three years or so but he's certainly got the mind of a sportsman so he's able to hold it
00:34:41together and just keep the car going um again it's it was one of his dreams to come here and and race in
00:34:4724 hours and it looks like they can finish and uh do themselves proud
00:34:58so we're getting a last stop for lapierre we did think that he's i think he stopped on the hour
00:35:03before so he did need a splash and dash of some description so yeah lapierre is uh i think coming
00:35:11in fairly soon
00:35:17i'm just going to say just a splash of fuel there is chris hoy
00:35:22fingers crossed it's quite amazing that someone with so much success that he sits there thinking
00:35:30this is like a dream uh emotional moments for lena gate as well final race for audi it's not been the
00:35:36type of race that she wanted but uh a lot of history a lot of victories a lot of highs for for those
00:35:46for that number seven car with lena in it and it's gonna that's gonna be a massive change
00:35:54in that team when when she disappears yeah yeah big big shoes to fill or probably small shoes but
00:35:59you know what i mean yeah and she did there was a tweet from audi uh yesterday i forgot to mention it
00:36:05but there was a tweet of lena leaning out of her little uh terrorist thing on the pit land i don't
00:36:11know what you call them where the pit perch pit perch uh and she was leaning out and she put a sign on it
00:36:18unless you're brad pit don't bother coming in so she had that when she was getting herself ready for
00:36:24the race so i don't know whether brad pit went in but uh he was more than welcome to uh to have a
00:36:30look around her pit perch while she got herself ready it's a big result again as well as long as
00:36:37they can just finish off the final 25 minutes in this team the 36 team it's uh even even if you
00:36:46don't finish on the podium it's just finishing as we said talked about with like the the tattinger car
00:36:51is people set their stalls out we're going for a podium we're going for a win or we just want to finish
00:36:57and you get within this close uh the five car dive down the inside of the 99 car on to another lap the gap
00:37:12when we're just what we're just waiting for the two car of yanni to go across the line there it gets
00:37:18heading towards the line i can see it out of our commentary box window situated midway through the
00:37:24four chicane the seven car on board with that heading down team radio at the seven car okay
00:37:44that's uh basically don't ruin their race kind of thing isn't it
00:37:47yeah the audi have got nothing to gain from uh getting in the way
00:37:56there it is you can see it there and the other toyota's just just ahead as well
00:38:04there it is the sixth car so they're all uh three of the p1 cars all close together in between the two
00:38:13two chicanes got danny watson there in the 42 as well running fourth in p2
00:38:22ed brown in the 30 esm car being whipped around by race leader nakajima
00:38:32the clock counting down in the background there you could see
00:38:35see 28 odd can't be 28 men yes it was because it was just a real thing a replay for us
00:38:54tracy crowing in his own car eager to get to the end of course looking like he's going to do it again
00:39:02uh another team that comes he comes here every year uh and uh they've i think they've got no intention
00:39:11that they're trying to win in p2 but they're here racing and they're trying to get to the end and uh so
00:39:18so far so good for them
00:39:37so looking back at the pro class of gt dixon is still pushing on still trying to reel in physique
00:39:43but he's got 35 seconds to overcome muller still has a healthy lead and uh yeah looking back to the
00:39:53two aston martin still running in the middle fifth and sixth black and orange flag 82 leather lights not
00:40:02working black and orange flag are 82 leather lights not working what kind of lights wasn't sure
00:40:13well that leader lights ah black and orange so that's um that's not a good thing surely
00:40:22surely they'll leave him alone i mean that's a warning i don't know how long he can take that
00:40:28warning that's the lights that we talk about yeah i would i would think they're not gonna punish him
00:40:34for that normally during if the race was halfway through they'd need to fix that during a pit stop
00:40:41um but that is in no way dangerous or anything so that's the second place car of course in gt pro
00:40:49physiquella
00:40:53but with only 21 minutes to go it'd be very harsh if they took some kind of action to make him fix it
00:40:58because then he would lose his his putting position probably
00:41:05okay louise is in the pits just 20 minutes remaining of the 24 hours of le mans and you're
00:41:12leading your category yeah jeff's out there he's doing an incredible job our ferrari has been just so
00:41:19consistent very fast it's awesome to come back here for a second year we finished third last year
00:41:25came back very determined to run up front we've done that today so we're uh planning to hold on
00:41:30here to the end without tempting fate everything's been going well you've you've had a a good run
00:41:35shall we say yeah i mean uh we've had a just a couple little mistakes but nothing like what we had last
00:41:41year um a lot of issues last year outside of our control but things have been going really well
00:41:46we've got um we've got our our most reliable guy in the cockpit right now jeff siegel's like it's
00:41:52like having a computer drive the car uh he's phenomenal just always thinking big picture
00:41:58making very smart decisions out there and it's been a great run you know bill sweeler my teammate had
00:42:03just a phenomenal stint uh to round things out it's five seconds faster than last year which is
00:42:09incredible wonderful thank you thanks that louise 68 car just being told just keep the gap just keep it
00:42:18going take care of the car nothing silly i mean all these things i guess they feel like the team feel
00:42:26like they have to say that but of course in a driver like dirt muller who's been around and won many
00:42:32things is uh yeah not uh he's not about to just throw it at the wall or anything like that he's
00:42:39gonna do what he can do just to bring the car home but it's nice to have information from the pits on
00:42:45your gap he's got it as as i think the pits told him there he's got a one minute 16 that's a healthy
00:42:51gap so he can afford to to just back off drop a second or two a lap and not have to worry too much
00:42:56about it it's just passing in front of us now to complete another lap so he's on 335
00:43:12right louise can you uh translate that one for us please
00:43:19she's a bit busy at the moment that's uh she's not going to help us out but never mind uh car 82
00:43:24we just i just want to kind of see i'm going to look out the window for it because it's the lights
00:43:28i think they're talking about those lights we have explained during the the broadcast during the week
00:43:33of uh there's three lights on the side of the car and depending on if you're in the first second or
00:43:38third place in your category they light up number five is just passing us now it's got one light on
00:43:44that's it and it's in the lead it's in the lead you see so and i think that's what they're saying
00:43:49isn't working so 36 you can see the one light on the side of it there and they are color-coded to the
00:43:54little categories that they're in red bean p1 blue bean p2 green bean gt pro and uh like an orangey
00:44:02color uh if a gtm if you're just wondering what that was
00:44:13find out what the gap is at the front
00:44:15the 82 car's just gone past and it's work they were working on the side that i just saw 29 and a
00:44:24half seconds is the gap of the front with 17 minutes and 50 seconds to go
00:44:33japanese fans down there
00:44:37number six car hasn't done what i thought it was going to do yet hasn't swapped the driver
00:44:40uh maybe they're not going to swap the driver now they might not try and tempt fate and worry about
00:44:46it right now i mean yeah it'd be great to have a a finish where their line is down or side by side but uh
00:44:57yeah the number one thing is to get that number five car in first and get their first win here
00:45:04so looking at the order the last sort of uh major change of position was collard taking the second
00:45:34place from heinemeyer hansen in the porsche uh in the gtm class but other than that
00:45:41yeah the other positions have kind of held for quite a few hours now
00:45:49third place 37 cars into the pits for a final stop petrov
00:46:04so heading towards the final 15 minutes by the time nakajima gets to the end of this lap it will be
00:46:11around the 15 minute mark three minutes 30 a lap so five five and a half six laps to go
00:46:18in the 24 hour race we're on 379 laps he's actually only 300 379 laps he's about to complete
00:46:25speed it's a lot of laps it's a lot of laps
00:46:34he'd be happy to sit there all for the remaining 15 minutes 36 seconds no traffic around him clean road dry
00:46:44the japanese people so loyal so trusting so fair and it's about to hit the big one it's about to be
00:47:02the lights are working i think that's 62. yeah but the 82 went past before and the light was working so
00:47:07whether they are just on the other side then because there is twitter there's twitter action about that
00:47:12and uh jake urath uh tweeting about it and specutainment um talking about it as well and
00:47:20yeah i think yeah they're they're of the opinion that is possible that they might bring him in
00:47:25uh to have to get it fixed which obviously would cost him his second place if not his third place as
00:47:34well um again that's not for us to come we don't make the rules but it does if that did happen that
00:47:41would be very very unfortunate don't you just get don't you worry about it later let's just finish
00:47:46the race and argue about it later or something like that but uh need to try and see and uh frederick
00:47:51success is getting lowered into the car for the final one what he's now the final 14 minutes this
00:47:57stracker in for a splash and dash followed by the 50 car as well so just not quite having enough fuel to
00:48:05get around the final few laps and kilometers of the 24 hours of lamor the 84th running of the 24 hours of
00:48:14lamor this time yesterday the weather was pretty rubbish it was pretty awful there's still a lot of
00:48:21cloud around but this it is warm and it is a bit sunshiny so that is the main thing they'll be able to
00:48:28celebrate in style 13 minutes 45 seconds
00:48:35good job good job guys so that's
00:48:40yeah that's uh nakajima
00:48:44yeah all the communication between the two of them uh 30 was just giving him the gap 30 seconds
00:48:51he's stabilized that he's quicker that last lap and with each lap obviously uh passing by johnny can't
00:49:00get any closer
00:49:03so yeah no i'm not gonna say anything
00:49:07that's it 30 seconds is the gap uh the 83 car coming into the on pit road that's the collard car
00:49:13second in am at the moment that's 56 seconds over the third place car
00:49:21so we've got 84 car just trying to keep out the way trying to make it last
00:49:2512 minutes of the race just trying to make it to the end
00:49:32there is our leading car coming through all the eyes
00:49:36from toyota around the world yeah i think we talked about uh yesterday how big a race in fact it
00:49:46wasn't yesterday it was the day before that how big a race um this is we've got a tv interview with
00:49:53louise let's go to her
00:49:58where with you louise 12 minutes and counting down i think they're going to be the longest 12 minutes of
00:50:05your life aren't they i don't think i've ever been so nervous in my life that's for sure it's not
00:50:09over till it's over so we're all here fingers crossed and uh just watching those seconds go by
00:50:15and uh looking at the performance so far throughout the 24 hours how's it been the car's been fantastic
00:50:21the team's done an incredible job every single pit stop was perfect they've done an unbelievable work
00:50:27here everyone's you know put every every ounce of sweat here the car has been fantastic and the
00:50:33drivers have done a great job so um hopefully it all comes together you know we're just trying
00:50:37to do the best job possible and uh hopefully that result comes well i'll come back when you're
00:50:42smiling and celebrating thank you i hope to see you then
00:50:48thanks for that louise so uh 11 minutes 24 23 now louise can you just confirm who that was because uh
00:50:58you we didn't actually get who who was speaking
00:51:04louise is not listening to you she's tired she's tired she's tired last what we've got to look at as
00:51:10well the two car into the pits that's not what we were going to look at but the two car into the pits
00:51:15that seems quite bouncy the front end of that car now he should have been able to get to the end
00:51:22on the fuel he had yeah agreed agreed okay that car did look bouncy there's a tire going on another
00:51:30set of tires on it yeah must have had a puncture putting fuel in it must have had a puncture so
00:51:37louise right side wheels i'm trying to see the front left as well yeah that's bizarre that's really
00:51:44strange and then those guys are thinking what's going on there they've got a gap so it's not a problem but
00:51:50we saw audi just before they were just putting on a second hand set of tires used tires
00:51:59so uh yeah that's strange that the number two car comes in and put some fresh tires on and some
00:52:04more fuel in for the final so we're seeing on the board here stop and go penalty for 82
00:52:15repair your leader lights that is that is fizzy keller yeah that is fizzy keller and i'm just going
00:52:22to i was waiting for the gap to come up which is uh scott dixon's got to come across the gap that last
00:52:27interview scott dixon isn't far behind that no that's uh that's a position change that drops fizzy keller to
00:52:36third at least yeah he won't go further than that unfortunate very unfortunate for them
00:52:44so uh so uh we're going to say we have about a 40 second delay from when the team talks to when it
00:53:00actually gets replayed onto onto us and that was about right that was probably about 38 seconds that
00:53:06one when that came out so yeah 82 stop and stop and go to fix the lead in lights that's so disappointing
00:53:13so in one sense for kazuki he's uh he's he's able to take it easy which is what he wants
00:53:20to hear oh yes i just want to cruise but in the other sense he has to also concentrate and not do
00:53:26anything silly because you start losing your focus a little bit now he might be wondering um
00:53:34he might be wondering why is that porsche come in what did it have a puncture or something like that
00:53:39and if i'm totally honest with you why that's the kind of thing i was wondering was there a puncture on
00:53:43there but they did put fuel in the car also so strange because i thought they would potentially be
00:53:49able to go to the end of the stint that is inside the 36 carriage you're just looking at
00:53:53here is the sick car there is the 36 car leader of the p2 category as we speak but it is kazuki
00:54:02nakajima eight minutes ten seconds to go and he is leading in the le mans 24 hours and uh peter's
00:54:11talked about it about how passionate the toyota and mr toyota himself is so
00:54:17involved in this whole thing i mean he goes on rallies to watch his rally cars he goes watching
00:54:22his race cars and everything he just drives himself he drives in nurburgring 24 hours he he's he's always
00:54:27at nurburgring yeah you know he's he's full hands-on it's a great when when you when you your top man is
00:54:33a racer as well exactly then you know the budget's going to keep coming to go racing which is you know
00:54:39as as racing fans as drivers as um people involved with the sport it's good to see so chip ganassi in the
00:54:45pits there they've had a lot of success chip ganassi's won a lot of stuff yeah i mean that's pretty
00:54:50much confirmed a ford victory with that final penalty stop goal penalty for fizikella he's not
00:54:56in the pits yet isn't fizikella but uh well yeah they'll be fighting it they will they will be
00:55:01fighting no bones about it no that's a 62 car yeah we keep seeing 62 we need to look out for it out the
00:55:06window um but just going back to chip ganassi there he's pretty much won everything in in america he did do
00:55:13le mans himself as a driver but to come over here yeah he's half the team is based in europe the other
00:55:20half over in ganassi racing but to come here your first time as a team and to be leading with
00:55:30six minutes 45 seconds to go i'd be curious to know where that sits
00:55:36six and eight uh i'm not accelerating i have no power i have no power what this is the five car it's
00:55:43slowing down he's got no power louise uh you probably won't get anything but kazuki nakajima on team
00:55:50early because i'm not sure whether you hear it he has no power no power with six minutes to go for
00:55:55the five car look at his throttle it's flat and he's doing 190 90 kilometers an hour
00:56:04this is just incredible
00:56:12he's on the limiter 160 kilometers an hour there
00:56:16it's only going to six and a half maybe seven thousand revs he does have a minute and nine seconds
00:56:23but it's not gonna be enough he's he's like doing half the speed of the yanni porsche down there
00:56:31you saw the clock over the shoulder of the toyota people reading five minutes here comes the number
00:56:37two porsche is this going to turn around in the last five minutes is it incredible you could not make
00:56:42this up i was getting all my stuff ready for toyota i haven't written anything yet when i was going to
00:56:48get all my stuff ready there's disbelief there's disbelief in both camps here because no one can
00:56:54really believe it this this is madness this is the gap already down to 55 seconds it was at a minute and
00:57:00nine when nakajima reported the problem it's already down to 55. but he needs he needs a number six car
00:57:06behind him pushing a bit it's great
00:57:14neil yanni be thinking you are yeah yeah they don't say things like that as a bit of fun
00:57:19they went how much power has he lost what's he lost the 26 g drive car into the pits
00:57:24what a toyota gonna they've just got to keep going haven't they there's no point in bringing it into the
00:57:28pits anthony davison will be beside himself i i'm speechless i i'm watching this is this really
00:57:37happening they must be the same it's the greatest race in the world who's that behind him now i think
00:57:42that's his teammate is there anything he can do push you can he help him push him oh my word four and a
00:57:50half minutes to go they don't know what to they're like what but none of them know reaction no reaction
00:57:58which yeah you wouldn't you'd be just like keep going and neil yanni being fed quite limited
00:58:06information of just keep pushing he doesn't want to trip up over anybody because
00:58:12it's down to 25 seconds the gap i mean bearing in mind that car had an extra stop so it would have
00:58:17been in the lead by yeah we're about to have a lead change the six five car there in it that's an audi
00:58:24we're heading towards the six it would be pit x entry has gone by five now is he coming into the
00:58:30pits or is he going to stay out he's staying out is that is that the scent of him on here he is here
00:58:36comes yanni yanni's heading towards the four chicane he's out of the carting down to four chicane
00:58:41and there is the five toyota just exiting the chicane
00:58:48yeah it's it's stopping it's stopping there's going to be a lead change on the start finish line
00:58:54there is a new leader three minutes 21 seconds to go and as a new leader the five car has
00:59:02stopped they they can't believe it they're going crazy in the porsche camp look at them oh my word
00:59:11it is quite incredible and yeah they cannot believe it oh man unbelievable this car was on pole
00:59:24on wednesday night and they weren't headed all day thursday they had a pretty dismal start in the rain
00:59:32and they've had problems they've had issues but they have kept going meanwhile looking at a different
00:59:39subject but car 82 has not pitted yet they're they're fighting it out to try and just get to the
