00:00What exactly happened to the ankle during that play, gruesome injury, and what's the surgery process going to be like for Scadaboo?
00:09He's a very physical player. You know, I'm sure people have seen the replays, you know, of the place.
00:16Unfortunately, what happens is that, you know, he dislocated the ankle.
00:20Not only did he dislocate the ankle, there reports that this was an open injury, which means that, you know, the bone went through his skin.
00:29So, you know, in all likelihood, this is a fracture, dislocation of the ankle.
00:34Very, very tough injury. It sounds like he's already had surgery.
00:39They have a fantastic medical team. So, you know, I think the chances of him coming back on next season are pretty hot.
00:47Let's say a non-athlete suffered an ankle dislocation like Scadaboo.
00:52How would you treat them compared to a pro athlete?
00:56So, very, very similar in terms of the way that we address these injuries.
01:02If it's an open injury, this is, you know, an orthopedic emergency, right?
01:05We address these injuries very, very quickly.
01:08We stabilize the bone if there's an associated fracture.
01:12We, you know, stabilize the joint, you know, as well.
01:15And first and foremost, we want to make sure there's no concomitant neurovascular injury that needs to be addressed.
01:24And a similar timeline for, you know, our everyday, you know, athlete to kind of get back to doing things that they enjoy,
01:31typically in the six to eight month time point.
