00:00It has been a long summer, but the NFL season kicks off Thursday, and in the nick of time, we are wrapping up our division previews.
00:08Last but not least, the AFC East. The question is simple. Is a Buffalo Bills division title a foregone conclusion?
00:18The Bills are favored to win the East for the sixth consecutive season. An elusive Super Bowl trip is the only goal remaining.
00:26Four of the last five seasons, they've been knocked out of the playoffs by the AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs.
00:32The other season, knocked out by AFC champion Cincinnati.
00:36With reigning league MVP Josh Allen in the prime of his career, the time is now.
00:41It's fun as a quarterback to drop back and know that anybody, any one of my receivers could get the opportunity to catch this ball right here.
00:48So, it makes my job easy when guys are, you know, giving their all for each other.
00:55They love what they do, and they care about what they do. So, that's our goal.
00:59The Bills' playoff stumbles might disappear if they can earn home field advantage.
01:04A Dolphins team at 8-9 a year ago seems to be the only one that can challenge Buffalo.
01:10But they've lost nine of the last ten games in the head-to-head series.
01:14The impact new head coaches Aaron Glenn in New York and Mike Vrabel in New England will have on their respective rebuilds is the biggest unknown in the division.
01:23Glenn believes he and his staff have already changed the culture in the Meadowlands.
01:28Vrabel, he's more realistic when discussing his team's chances.
01:32The one thing you don't want to be as too cute, certainly in week one or at any time,
01:37and think, well, they know and they think we're going to do this, so that we're going to do this.
01:41And I think we have to be really sound and use our rules.
01:49And, you know, if we see something that's new, you know, we have to keep our composure and keep our poise.
01:55One of our breakout candidates in the AFC East will need to lead the way for the Pats.
01:59Second-year quarterback Drake May gives his new head coach some promising potential to work with.
02:04The Bills don't really need any new blood, but 22-year-old Keon Coleman in his rookie year averaged 7.7 yards after the catch,
02:14with 21 of his 29 catches going for first downs.
02:19The Jets have a lot of veteran pieces, but just haven't been able to bring it together.
02:24Rookie offensive tackle Armand Membu hopes to fit in quickly.
02:27The Dolphins need some help in the defensive backfield, and Storm Duck, already on the all-name team, could be just a fit.
02:36If that defense doesn't hold up, it'll be on Tua Tungabailoa and the explosive Finns' offense to outscore opponents, if they can protect number one.
02:45I feel like we got all the weapons to do it, you know what I'm saying?
02:47Like, we can do it all across the board.
02:48Like, we even can put A-chain out there and run, like, some vertical routes, man.
02:52So, obviously, the key thing is keeping one upright and just allowing him to, like, throw the ball.
02:57And, you know, the rest will take care of the rest, man, because we all can catch, and, like, we all are playmakers.
03:02History says those playmakers will not be enough to challenge Buffalo, but there's a reason they play the games.
