00:07It all depends on who the player is.

00:10And that's not a cop-out answer, even though it sounds like it.

00:12It comes down to, what am I getting somebody?

00:15Like, if the Boston Red Sox, and I just don't understand why they would

00:18since they're in a playoff spot right now.

00:20We had heard a month ago after the Devers trade, they could trade Durant.

00:24Now, he's under team control for multiple years, so I go get him.

00:28That doesn't only help me this year, but I have a center fielder

00:31for the next couple of years.

00:32And if you're telling me I can get a player like that,

00:34I prioritize that over adding a relief pitcher

00:38because it not only helps me in the short term,

00:40it helps me over the next couple of years.

00:43So I think a big kind of answer to this is,

00:46who is the player we're talking about?

00:48Bullpen-wise, you know, Emmanuel, Klasse.

00:50If he becomes available, he's really appealing for two reasons.

00:53Not only do you form this, like, super bullpen at the end of games

00:57with Klasse and Diaz, but I'm thinking ahead.

01:00Edwin Diaz can opt out.

01:02And if Edwin Diaz opts out, I can look at Edwin and say,

01:05hey, you better be reasonable, because if you're not,

01:07Emmanuel, Klasse can just step in and be the closer.

01:10So I think it also will improve you, potentially, in the future,

01:14in negotiations with Edwin Diaz, where you're not going to feel like,

01:17oh, my God, the Mets have to pay Edwin Diaz whatever he wants,

01:20because, God forbid, he leaves.

01:21They got nobody else.

01:23So I think what really matters here, whether it's adding a back-end reliever,

01:28whether it's adding a starting pitcher,

01:30I'm still believing in Sandy Alcantara to spite his 70RA.

01:33Like, I would still be interested in acquiring him,

01:36because he is coming off Tommy John.

01:37You've got to have a deep breath on, kind of be patient on how guys recover.

01:41Just look at Zach Wheeler's recovery.

01:43For anyone who remembers that, about a decade ago.

01:45So to me, it's about, they could use a starter, they could use a reliever,

01:49they can use a bat, but it depends on who the player is.

01:54And that, to me, will determine what I want to improve the most at.
