00:00Start line, the Dewalt SX2 final two start list, Turner, Larwood, Cosford, Thompson,
00:06Kingsford, Todd, there's so many big names ready to get there for the second race out tonight,
00:12final number two. Will we see another massive launch out from Larwood, Cosford, do we see
00:22Kingsford sneak around the inside, can Turner get up there once again, it is down to this
00:30race, Gates are down, good jump out from the 14 and Thompson, Kingsford is there as well,
00:36it looks like he's going to put himself up front. Wow, that was clutch right there, he needed
00:41to get that done, Kingsford out front and they are brothers, we just watched his brother
00:46Cade Kingsford, now it's Ryder, Kingsford, talented family. And Ryder coming off the win
00:54in the first final of the night, looks like he's got some newfound confidence out there,
01:00you see him, it looks like he's just completely focused on himself and the task at hand is
01:05exactly where you want to be, you see the track starting to break down now, but a great
01:10start for the 21. This is going to be interesting, the 14 of cold times are not in this championship
01:14fight, this is his first race of the season, so it's interesting, he's typically a pretty
01:18aggressive rider, so if you're a guy like Lux Turner, as he does make the pass, but I'm
01:22just curious how this championship dynamic is going to work with a rider of Thompson's
01:26caliber up front. Well, Thompson was a long way back in the first race here tonight, so
01:31he won't be in any position where he may be for a podium, I don't think anyway, from what
01:39we saw a little bit earlier on, Wilson Todd there in fourth place, Tiger Wood, Jace Cosford,
01:44Kingsford, and then where is Larwood, he seems to be a long way down the order as we look
01:50at the MyPayNow, whole shot at Ward again going to ride at Kingsford, and like you mentioned,
01:55the confidence that we're seeing out of Kingsford up front, this is renewed, this is what we've
02:00expected from the first round that we saw him on track, didn't quite go to plan at Redcliffe,
02:05but certainly has turned it around here tonight.
02:07Well, and this is for the overall AC, sorry to interrupt you, but this is for it, if you're going
02:13to win the race, you need to be the best teammate, teammate head-to-head right now, Lux Turner
02:18with the championship points, the 21 of Ryder Kingsford up in the mix, he wants to get this
02:23victory, but his teammates, mano y mano right now.
02:27And I'm interested to see how the number nine of Lux Turner plays this, look, we know he
02:32has a big lead in the championship, but I really feel like he's on the verge of a breakthrough
02:38in his career right now, and you know he wants to keep the momentum rolling, so yes, you want
02:44to win a championship, but I think for Lux Turner, where he's at in his career right now,
02:49really important for him to make a run and try to win this event.
02:52So you think, as Kingsford makes a big mistake right there, so you think if you're Lux Turner,
02:57championship aside, go win the race, keep that momentum rolling in the right direction.
03:02I think that is just as important for his overall success in his career.
03:09Yes, yes, short answer, yes, JP, I think you should go after it right now, but he's got
03:13to do it methodically, the track is starting to break down, and like we were talking about
03:17earlier, you can't just go out there and hit it with a bunch of intensity, you got to be
03:22methodical, you see a lot of the top of these bowl corners are really starting to go
03:27away, you see the guy starting to cut down a little bit more, so he's got to be able
03:31to do it in all conditions.
03:32And what's interesting from Lux Turner, I feel like in main event one, he did settle
03:37a little bit, he was thinking championship, which in my opinion was very smart, where
03:40this one it looks like he's riding with more intensity, but honestly, Kingsford's just,
03:44he's just flat out riding good out front.
03:47And the problem is, with things like that, it wouldn't be a big deal if Lux Turner just
03:53took a back seat, got second, but anytime you allow another racer to win, Kingsford,
04:00Ryder Kingsford in this scenario right now, if he wins this race and beats Lux Turner, he's
04:06going to be harder and harder and harder to beat as we get down the stretch of this championship.
04:12And that would put the points gap only to 20, came in at 26, he dropped it to 23, that could
04:18And then you're one mistake away.
04:19One mistake away, so I love what you're saying right there, I think it's really important
04:23as Lux, let's look at lap times, that last time around, Lux Turner, fastest guy on track.
04:28Yeah, boy, what's that, seven, one thousandth of a second, it is so close between those two,
04:34I'm sorry, that's the fastest time I'm looking at.
04:36Yeah, there's not a lot in it, but Turner is closing down on our race leader, just that
04:42little bit, but as we said, give Kingsford a lead like this or a win like we saw, and things
04:47can turn around pretty quick, the 20 points is nothing in the big scheme of things, especially
04:52over a doubleheader at each round.
04:53And it can see Turner, Turner's ratcheting it up right now, the intensity is at the max
04:58right now, Turner's going for it.
05:00And with these shorter races, for Lux Turner right now, being the guy in second, it's easy
05:06to study your competition, as the 21 of Kingsford makes a big mistake there in the whoops, allows
05:14Lux Turner to get alongside, is he going to cut down and get him, wow, what a pass, gentlemen,
05:21that was textbook.
05:22That was a good move right there, unbelievable pass for the lead, Lux Turner, your championship
05:29points leader, absolutely made him, that's going to be the pass of the night, that is
05:33absolutely the pass of the night Lux Turner just put on his teammate, Ryder Kingsford.
05:38Wow, the performance from Turner to get that pass made, two laps to go, and not just pass
05:44him, but continue to stretch out that lead right now, he really whipped it up over these
05:50last couple of laps.
05:51And we talk about, we talk about Lux Turner having this breakthrough, and you see him riding
05:56with so much confidence, it's amazing what a couple wins will do for your form in general,
06:04he's riding right now with so much conviction, he knew exactly what he was going to do, making
06:10that pass on Kingsford, executed it to perfection, and has not looked back since, looks like he's
06:16put the track together well, has a big lead over Kingsford, in complete control of this
06:22race now.
06:23And this track is really starting to deteriorate, kind of go away, you can see the whoops are
06:28getting very, very difficult, ruts in each and every big bull berm out there as he's trying
06:32to navigate some traffic, some lap traffic right there, navigates it perfect, sets it
06:37down on the back side, you see working some body English right there.
06:42What a race we have witnessed here for the SX2 final number two, as Turner works his way
06:48around the final two times, he has had to work for it, he will tie on points tonight, but
06:53he will be awarded the overall, and hold the championship lead, and that continues, the confidence
07:00that we're seeing out of this rider, he is going to be a very hard man to beat.
07:07Coming through in second place, will be wired at Kingsford as they jump up and over the
07:13finish line, Thompson manages to hold on for third place.
07:20Career defining moments, Lux Turner in the decision to come here and race the OzX Supercross
07:27championship. In my opinion, he's going to look back in 10 years from now and say that
07:31was the best decision of my career. The trajectory, I believe, catapults him into, really, sky's
07:38the limit. I mean, podiums, race wins in America, who knows, sky's the limit.
07:41The D-World SX2 final number two race results. Turner, Kingsford, Thompson, as we said, held on
07:47for third place. Wilson Todd, Jace Cosford in fifth place. Tiger Wood, Jake Cannon, Alex
07:54Lyle Wood, only managing eighth in that one. Rhys Budd, Byron Dennis are your top ten in
08:00that race. Great way to finish the night for the SX2, and it's really setting the stage
08:07for the next round when we do move our way to Melbourne in a month's time, and to continue
08:14to see these SX2 riders battle it out. We'd love to see Lyle Wood jump back up there in the
08:18mix of this as well. And maybe Thompson might find a bit more comfort. He hasn't had a lot of
08:23time to get set for this, so maybe we'll see him jump up there and battle it out as we move
08:29forward in this series. Let's head down to Trent, who is with our winner?
08:33Yeah, boys, down here, pretty manic at the moment. Lux Turner. That was a heck of a race
08:39win. You're fired up, you had work to do, battle your teammate, seen the mistake, capitalized
08:44on it, and then you ran away. That's probably the toughest one of these three you've got so
08:47far.
08:48Yeah, that one was definitely technical, because my teammate was riding phenomenal,
08:52so I just had to honestly ride behind him and wait for him to make a mistake. As much as that
08:57sounds wrong, but he's riding so good, that's the only way. You just need to be consistent,
09:02especially with how technical this track is. Consistency is key.
09:07Look fired up here, boys. Lux Turner. Big smiles.
09:09As the track continues to break down, it is going to prove to be the real key as we move
09:17forwards, and we see this battle here between these two massive warriors in the SX2 class.
09:23Ryder-Kingsford looked sensational throughout, but it was just those final couple of laps
09:27with the small mistakes that allowed Turner to get up there, and that pass he made there,
09:33and the traction he found coming out of that turn was something else. Able to absolutely
09:39tip it in and rip it as they exited the turn, making that pass.
