00:00Final number one, brought to you by DeWaltz.
00:03Lux Turner, winner of our first heat, gets the first pick out there, Alex Larwood, Jace Cosford,
00:10who was very impressive in his heats.
00:12Cole Thompson, Ryder Kingsford, Wilson Todd, Thomas Wood, or Tiger Wood, as he likes to be known.
00:19Caleb Barham, Rhys Budd, and Bertrand, your top ten in this one.
00:22Boys, where does that start come from in the first of our finals?
00:27Yeah, this is going to be tough.
00:28Look, if you're on the outside, you have to drive it in deep.
00:31But if you're on the inside, you can really control your braking points.
00:34But if you get kind of stuffed where the five is, the five's on the very inside.
00:38That's Alex Larwood.
00:38Then you've got the nine, Lux Turner.
00:40Whoever gets a wheel on each other, they're going to have position in the first turn.
00:43But if Larwood gets kind of beat by the nine, he's going to have to brake.
00:47He's going to pretty much let everybody go.
00:49And if you're all the way on the inside, of course, you don't have the radius coming into the first corner.
00:54So you have to be comfortable getting on the brakes early and watching the guys on your outside pass you, knowing that you're still going to come out up front.
01:04You have to be comfortable seeing guys go past you.
01:08You've got to be disciplined with your braking zone.
01:10And I think the number five, the number nine on the inside, they're in prime position.
01:15Story's about to be written right now.
01:17Larwood looks good from the inside.
01:19Can he get the jump, though?
01:21Barham's out quick as well, trying to sweep around the outside.
01:25Tiger Woods.
01:26Larwood's there.
01:27Who went down the first turn?
01:28Cosford has gone down in the first turn.
01:30What a start for Larwood and Barham out front.
01:34But I had my eye on the Larwood-Turner battle.
01:37And Larwood had an amazing jump off the gate.
01:39But how about Barham out front?
01:41Kingsford is there as well early in this one.
01:43So well-positioned as we see Larwood looking to...
01:47Oh, he's gone down!
01:48And he just gets a little antsy, gets into the back of Barham right there.
01:54Down he goes.
01:55And just like that, only an eight-lap main event here.
01:59So he's got a lot of work to do in a short amount of time.
02:02Man, that's that balance of you can't be so eager that you make a mistake like that.
02:07But you have to be aggressive, AC.
02:08You have to make moves early, especially an eight-lapper.
02:11It's such a fine line.
02:13And he just got crossed up with Barnum's back tire right there at the top of the berm.
02:17And down he goes.
02:19Not the way you want to start your night.
02:21But for him right now, it's all about minimizing the damage points-wise.
02:24He's got to pick guys off, stay present, keep charging.
02:29The right paint now, a whole shot going to Barham.
02:31Here is that crash.
02:32What's the front wheel of Larwood?
02:34Actually, it was the rear wheel that went first.
02:36Lost that traction, like you said.
02:38It is that balance between going a little bit too hard.
02:41How about this battle up front, though, as we see Barham under a lot of pressure now.
02:45From Ryder Kingsford, who has turned everything around tonight.
02:48He looked good in the heat.
02:50Didn't quite pick up the fight.
02:51The heat win, my apologies.
02:52And as he tries to square it down, Barham read that one, knew exactly what was going on.
02:57Oh, that was excellent.
02:58Wasn't able to get the triple out, but you see it landed on the back tire.
03:02A little mad skills action right there.
03:04Allows him to get, square up the turn, get the line in the middle section.
03:09Oh, and barbed out hard.
03:11Barham pulling up short on the step over there.
03:15And finds himself hitting the ground, losing all of those positions.
03:19Puts Lux Turner there in the second place.
03:23Barham is back.
03:24So, Tiger Woods, now to third.
03:27Here is the replay.
03:28Barham just comes up short right there.
03:31His handlebars kind of fall out of his hands.
03:33Man, that was a big crash.
03:35Hopefully he's all right.
03:36And I think right now we're seeing a lot of mistakes.
03:38I think it's a combination of the short race, only eight laps.
03:42And like we were talking about earlier, Justin, this track is not as technical as it was this
03:47morning's little harder pack.
03:48These guys are able to put up a lot of intensity down.
03:52That's why you're seeing all the mistakes.
03:53Yeah, this is huge for Kingsford.
03:55We started the show in the heat races earlier today.
03:58Kingsford all shot it.
03:59He went to third.
04:00He was right there with Lux Turner.
04:01Lux Turner was able to get that win.
04:04And I mentioned just the speed that Kingsford has.
04:06But the race craft, is that Barham down again?
04:08Yeah, that's Barham down again in the back.
04:09No, that's the 19.
04:10Oh, 19.
04:11All right.
04:11Sorry, my apologies.
04:12I think he's having a terrible time.
04:14Connor Adams, that was, unfortunately.
04:16And there's a, going back to Kingsford, there's a difference between having that speed, Adam,
04:20but then having that speed lap after lap after lap.
04:23And I always believe he's had the speed to do it.
04:25Now he just needs to do it consistently.
04:27He's proven it right here.
04:28Well, speed, as you know, is such a small part of the equation.
04:32You have to have so many tools in your back to go out here and win a race.
04:37Speed is only a small part of it.
04:39Can you do it lap after lap?
04:41Can you do it when the moment is the biggest?
04:44I've heard big, big, great things about Ryder Kingsford, and he's showing me why right now.
04:50He leads the way at the moment, and this is dangerous for the rest of the field
04:54because we've just been waiting for this kind of performance out of Kingsford.
04:58We knew the speed.
04:59He just hasn't put it together until right now.
05:02He is looking sensational and stretching that lead out just a little bit.
05:061.8 was the last time around.
05:08Visually, it looks like it's a little bit, that's bigger than 1.8.
05:12It has to be as he continues to stretch it out with another three laps to go.
05:16Well, if Kingsford wants, anyways, he makes a big mistake.
05:19He misses a loop, then gets really low, and you just get all out of sequence.
05:22But he's 26 points down to his teammate right there, Lux Turner, on the 9.
05:27He's got to start chipping away.
05:29But, look, anything can happen.
05:30Larwood is second, 12 points down.
05:31But after this first main event, look, Larwood's all the way down a 10.
05:35So anything can happen at any time.
05:36And think about Kingsford right now.
05:38If he still has a lot of racing to go, but if he is able to close this one out,
05:43win this moto, sometimes that's all it takes.
05:46We talked about these small moments where you start to gain momentum.
05:50You start to believe in yourself.
05:52And belief in yourself for a young rider can really propel you to heights in your career
05:57that you aren't sure you could ever get.
06:00Lux Turner is obviously the guy after a dominant round one and round two.
06:05And Kingsford right now is laying his claim to this championship.
06:09He's got to get some points back.
06:10Only two more laps remaining in this one.
06:14Kingsford still commanding that lead as he works his way into this rhythm section.
06:20He really hasn't put a foot wrong.
06:22Besides that one small mistake through the whips a minute ago,
06:25he has looked extremely comfortable and composed
06:27and has not allowed any pressure from the rider behind him
06:31to affect the way he's performed.
06:34As he works his way through a little bit long there,
06:36but still manages to triple out, no problem is at all,
06:39and will be greeted by that last lap forward.
06:41Well, and we watched Kingsford and Turner go at it at rounds one and two in Redcliffe,
06:46and they were getting pretty aggressive with each other.
06:48And I'm just thinking, look, I know they're friends off the track,
06:51but AC, you know as well as I do,
06:53if you don't win the race, you better at least be the best guy on your team.
06:57At least be the best guy on your team.
06:59And that's what those guys are doing right now.
07:00They're teammates, they're competitors, friends off the track,
07:02but it gets highly competitive on the track.
07:06You want to be the guy.
07:07There's teammates in Supercross racing.
07:10You do have other guys under your same semi,
07:13but really, JB, we know it's every man for himself out there.
07:17And Kingsford looks like he's going to take this thing home right now.
07:20What a ride.
07:21How's the ride, too, for Larwood after the crash?
07:25He's got himself back to ninth place.
07:26He's in behind Byron Dennis there as we see Kingsford across the whoops again,
07:33looking extremely comfortable towards the finish line,
07:36and a win in final number one for the Yamaha rider.
07:42That win will go down very well with him.
07:46The confidence that's going to come out of that one,
07:49knowing that he can put a race win together.
07:52See the teammates there high-fiving.
07:54Doesn't look like there's any bad blood, JB.
07:57Good vibes under the Yamaha 10.
07:58And Turner seemed just calm, that whole race.
08:01That's a championship ride, in my opinion, for Lux Turner.
08:04He knows where he's at in the points.
08:05He's 26 ahead of his teammate, Ryder Kingsford, 12 ahead of Larwood.
08:09He watched Larwood crash.
08:11So that, to me, was a very composed veteran ride from Lux Turner.
08:14The hardest thing to do sometimes when you're the guy,
08:17when you know you can win, is to take a step back,
08:19take the points, not go after the win.
08:22And I think that was a great ride for the number nine of Lux Turner.
08:25The Dewalt, SX2, final number one race results.
08:28Kingsford, Turner, Wood held on there for third place.
08:31Seth Burchill, Jake Cannon, Rhys Budd, Cosford in seventh place.
08:35Dennis Larwood, Thompson, your top ten.
08:37And Trent is with our winner.
08:40That is one main event win under the books.
08:42And you look very good all day, and that looked like you were just out there.
08:45You had your teammate behind you, but you looked like you had it handled.
08:46So, yeah, yeah, first two rounds were rough.
08:51I felt like I had good riding and speed, but I just didn't have starts.
08:55And, yeah, we really put in over 100 starts the last two weeks,
08:58and that really paid off.
08:59So can't thank everyone enough, especially my coach, Ross Beaton.
09:02Wouldn't be here without him.
09:03So, yeah, it's cool to get the boys one and two.
09:05Let's finish it off that way tonight as well.
09:07Starts are key, guys.
09:11Starts certainly are key.
09:12And, as he said, working very, very hard on that as shown to have paid off.
09:18And if he can continue to do that again, he will be a major threat
09:22with another two rounds to go after this one.
09:25As we look at these race highlights, and Kingsford was out pretty quick.
09:29Down in the first turn, though, that was Cosford.
09:32That come from a long way back, but here was the moment for Larwood.
09:35Yeah, Larwood went into the whoops great.
09:36Everything was good until the last whoop.
09:38There you see Barham down big.
09:39He had a great race going, was in second, unfortunately, goes down really hard.
09:44But Kingsford, man, with the win, that's a big confidence booster for him.
09:49Yeah, that's dangerous.
09:50Like you mentioned, AC, this is where...
