00:48all of them were battling it out at one point or another in final number one.
00:54Earlier on, there is Luke Clout.
00:56But if you were to look at his eyes and try and gauge his mind as far as am I hurt out of that race,
01:03it doesn't look like it.
01:05I think he is ready to go.
01:06Well, these racers are just so extremely tough.
01:09And it just becomes the norm that you line up.
01:11Even if you're a little bit injured, you have to go.
01:13I mean, that's just what we're taught, right?
01:16As you get out there, if you can walk to your motorcycle, you can get on your motorcycle and ride.
01:21And it's just good to see the number four out there.
01:23Aaron Tanti on the number nine will be looking to keep it upright this time
01:27because he was very good in race number one, looking like he was going to battle it out for that minor position on the top three.
01:35Unfortunately, though, for him, going down just outside the tail end of the whoops.
01:41And he will be certainly looking for a good start here.
01:44We're seconds away from the final race.
01:47SX1, Redcliffe about to get underway.
01:50Oh, bad jump there for Tanti.
01:56Good jump for Subaru.
01:58Squeezing around the inside.
01:59Was that Dylan Wills?
02:01And is that Cloud down again?
02:03Oh, no.
02:03Once again, that's that momentum thing.
02:05The momentum is not going in Luke Cloud's favor.
02:08But how about the number two?
02:09Yeah.
02:09He's got some track position.
02:11Cedric Subairis qualified second earlier today.
02:13He was faster than Dean Wilson on track.
02:16Now, Dino's race craft.
02:17And once the lights have turned on, Dean's been the best guy.
02:20But really curious what Cedric can do here.
02:22We said in final number one that Subaru was not far off the lap times of Dean Wilson.
02:27We're about to get an answer.
02:28Or as they go into the whoops, the rear wheel stepping out sideways for Wilson.
02:32Once again, though, he is quicker through that part of the track.
02:36Does Wilson square it back?
02:37He does to the inside.
02:39Pourses his way into the lead.
02:41And now will control the start of this race.
02:45Can Subaru turn it around?
02:47Well, this is going to be a great learning opportunity for Cedric right here.
02:50Dean has been clearly the best guy.
02:53Now, for Cedric, you're in this championship.
02:55Although Dean has won all three finals to start the season, he needs to latch on and learn from him.
03:01Dean's been a champion here before in Australia.
03:03He knows how to get the job done.
03:05Cedric's been a champion in Europe, specifically in France.
03:08It's a little bit different.
03:09Maybe track conditions are different here.
03:11This is an opportunity to learn from the number 15.
03:13The My Pay Now Whole Shot Award being awarded to Cedric Suboros as he sits in behind Dean Wilson.
03:20And how about this?
03:21Again, Hayden Melros, the privateer, off the couch, basically sits out the rest of the year until Supercross comes around.
03:29And again, finds himself in the top three.
03:32He is going to be pumped with this performance if he can hold on.
03:35But he has got a very hungry Aaron Tanty sitting in behind him, looking for redemptions.
03:41We take another look at the replay here.
03:43Watch the number four just clipped again by another rider.
03:49It was the 86 of Harrison once again.
03:52And he gets up shaking his head, thinking, can anything go right here tonight for me?
03:58Yeah, you can just tell the frustration.
04:00Just his body language, you can tell.
04:02Really bummed out for Luke.
04:03He obviously was very focused coming into this season and wanted to get this elusive championship that's been haunting him for so long.
04:10He's so capable.
04:11Good to see him healthy, though, and hopefully better at the next round in Sydney.
04:16There he makes a big mistake right there.
04:18Once again, just nothing seems to be going right for the four.
04:22Dylan Wood down there on the exit to that turn as well.
04:25As we go back to our lead bunch, and the pass has been made from Aaron Tanty.
04:31Finds himself now into third.
04:33Not too far back from him is Hayden Melros.
04:37And also Dylan Wills is still there in the hunt with these two riders.
04:42Walsh in behind them.
04:44As we see, just look up ahead there.
04:46Does it look like Subros is sticking to the back wheel of Dean Wilson there?
04:51He's under two seconds right now.
04:53I think where Dean's getting that time is simply that whoop section.
04:58We talked about it to start the show.
04:59Trent was down there and mentioned just how great Dean Wilson was through that one section of the track.
05:04I really believe he's getting a bike length or two each and every time they pass through there.
05:09Six laps remaining for our race leader.
05:12Dean Wilson would love to go away from Redcliffe with a clean sweep.
05:18100 points in the championship.
05:21As we see Tanty there.
05:23Now coming into the fight, Walsh has passed.
05:26Dylan Wills moves himself up one more position into fifth place.
05:30He's got his eyes set on the next riders, but they do have some real estate on him.
05:38He's got a bit of ground to make up if he wants to move up one more place and pick off that four.
05:43As it sits at the moment, I think that Melros could be in with a shot for a podium here.
05:50That would be massive for him.
05:51Yeah, that would be huge for him.
05:53Getting fifth on night one and now coming here to night two to potentially be on the podium.
05:57For me, that would be the biggest surprise.
05:59As we talked about all the championship contenders, we talked about Wilson, we talked about Subros, we talked about Tanty.
06:05We obviously talked about Luke Clout, Nicoletti, all these guys.
06:09Not a lot of mention of Melros, so for him to leave here well inside the top five in the championship would be pretty solid.
06:16Pass to the inside for Luke Clout.
06:18Moves him into 11th place.
06:20He's just getting his way past Robbie Marshall and continues to move forward.
06:25Like you said, it is good to see that he was back up after that first race and back out riding, trying to pick up these points in the championship.
06:33It is going to be a tough one this year for him if he is to close it down and be in the hunt for it.
06:39It is a massive deficit at the moment as we see Wilson just negotiating some of the tail end riders there.
06:48One of them going down, I think that was Gile Campbell.
06:50As we move back just a little bit further, Dylan Wills up and over.
06:56There is Zielinski having another good ride.
06:59Nicoletti and Harrison in the mix.
07:03Nicoletti soldering on out there, has that hand injury from the contact last night from the number four of Luke Clout.
07:08So good to see Phil out there, toughen it out.
07:14Still four laps to go in this final.
07:16And it's all important with the confidence moving into our next round in Cronulla, New South Wales.
07:26Yellow flags are out.
07:27Oh, that there.
07:27Is that one of our lead riders?
07:29No, that is one of our tail end guys that has just gone down.
07:33Our riders need to make their way through.
07:35Harrison trying hard to close down on Luke Zielinski.
07:40He has been another rider equally as impressive.
07:42The privateer well and truly up there battling it out with their top riders as our field now really stretched apart and just looking to ride out the tail end of this race.
07:55Yeah, really difficult track conditions right now.
07:58You can see just how slippery it is.
07:59These guys are trying to navigate it, trying to stay on two wheels.
08:03We've seen guys down all night long from the SX2 to SX3, now SX1.
08:10You see Walsh right there navigating that triple into the corner.
08:14There is Melros, still sits in fourth place.
08:18Dropped back a little bit from Aaron Tanty, but still in a very solid position.
08:23As he makes another lap down, only two to go in this final.
08:30You can see the back wheel just sliding around there, so gentle on the throttle.
08:34Yeah, really, really slippery conditions.
08:36And Melros has been good in these conditions really all weekend.
08:40I actually love the way his bike is set up.
08:42Looks to be a little softer than most guys' motorcycle out there, especially in the forks.
08:46But I love that for these track conditions.
08:48I think that's why he's been up the front really all weekend long.
08:51Bounces his way into the rhythm section.
08:54Dean Wilson looked like he had a bit of a sit-up problem there, exiting the whoops going into that turn.
09:01But no problems at all as he still commands a five-second lead over the rest of the field.
09:06The last lap board is now out.
09:08This one is going to be a sweet victory.
09:11What a start to this championship, this OzX Supercross championship for Dean Wilson, your 2023 champion.
09:19Missed it by a narrow six points one year ago to his teammate Joey Savace.
09:24He looks to make amends on what happened last season.
09:27You could just tell last year how emotional he was to not get this championship sealed towards the end there.
09:32As he makes a little mistake, bring this one home.
09:35Dean is going to score max points once again here tonight at round two.
09:38It's been a tough weekend for Dean Wilson personally, but he has made everything work on the bike.
09:47As he looks to the sky, he will make his way to the finish line.
09:51This one will mean a lot.
09:53Another win.
09:54A clean sweep.
09:55Dean Wilson, final number two, and leads the championship into round three.
10:01Suboros comes across in second place, and Tanty will come across in third.
10:09A great result for Tanty after a tough night to start.
10:16Great respect from these riders.
10:20As Suboros there with a good result as well.
10:23I thought Melrose was having a going in there for a second.
10:30You can see Melrose excited.
10:31Everybody congratulating Dean.
10:35You can tell just the emotions pouring out from the 15 right there.
10:41Dylan Wills also in there.
10:45This one is very special for Dean Wilson.
10:49As they make their way down towards the podium,
10:52I could just see there in the background,
10:55a very, very happy Hayden Melrose.
10:57Let's look at that final results now for the Yamaha SX1 final number two here in Redcliffe.
11:03Wilson won again in front of Suboros.
11:06Aaron Tanty made his way through into third.
11:09Hayden Melrose, Dylan Walsh, Luke Zielinski with another fantastic result.
11:14Mitchell Harrison, Nicoletti, Wills, and West.
