00:00Guys, in my career, if I had a camera and a microphone in my face right after the sight lap,
00:05it would have not have ended that well.
00:07So shout out to Hayden Melros.
00:09The Yamaha SX-1 final number one start list.
00:12Luke Clouts from the top of the board in front of Super Ross.
00:16Tanti Melros Harrison.
00:19Wilson Jackson Nicoletti.
00:21Zielinski Walsh, the 10.
00:24And most of them, I would say, would probably be pretty well lined up to the inside of our start box.
00:30Just looking down over the top here, we can see that it is Clout to the very inside as we've got the 30-second board up now.
00:38Tense times for many of these riders.
00:40Can Luke Clouts finally get that breakthrough win here in 2025?
00:45Here tonight, the overall.
00:47He's been close.
00:49He just needs to hold it together.
00:50He is very quick.
00:52It was interesting watching the qualifying earlier on.
00:54It was back and forward between himself and Wilson for the fastest times.
00:57Well, he has to turn it around right now because it is race time.
01:01Gate's about to drop.
01:03He needs a good start for the inside.
01:05Can he do it?
01:05Oh, he gets a lot of wheel spin.
01:07Wilson sweeps to the inside and will come out in front.
01:12What a start from Dean Wilson.
01:14He mentioned in the press conference that he's putting a huge emphasis on starts.
01:18We have not seen a whole shot come from that far out.
01:21And Phil Nicoletti was even on the outside of him.
01:23The one and two.
01:24Incredible.
01:25Just perfect execution from the veteran.
01:28Dean Wilson, would you expect anything less?
01:30You see him jumping into that whoop section now, getting a little creative.
01:35This is where you want to be for the 15.
01:37You have 10 laps at the front of the race.
01:40And with the amount of intensity that you need to go out there and win this race,
01:45riding from the front is a huge advantage.
01:47Remember we talked about that belief, that championship belief?
01:51That's it right there.
01:52That is it right there on display.
01:53Struggled in the heat race.
01:55Made some mistakes.
01:55Didn't qualify fastest earlier today.
01:57But when it's all on the line, a little mistake right there,
02:00but when it's all on the line, Dean Wilson rises up.
02:03Dean Wilson, Phil Nicoletti after a tough round two.
02:07They're in second place.
02:08And he's not letting Dean get too far away from him.
02:11He's riding good at the moment.
02:12Look, Phil's a veteran.
02:13He's a great starter.
02:14And he's a great whoop rider as well.
02:16I think these conditions really suit him with two whoop sections on the track.
02:19Watch right next to the box.
02:20Right on the inside, Dean Wilson gets a great jump.
02:23Phil Nicoletti kind of follows him.
02:25And watch, this is the separated.
02:26But Dean able to get that double out of that first turn.
02:29And not able to sink into that pocket.
02:31Gets up on the table.
02:32Stays lower.
02:33And that's all she wrote.
02:34My pay now.
02:36Whole shot award to Dylan Walsh, who sits there in fourth place at the moment.
02:39Tanty riding behind him to the inside.
02:41A little bump of the elbows.
02:43And Tanty will move up one more position.
02:45Melros just in behind them.
02:47As to his Harrison, as they work their way through.
02:50That is the battle.
02:51Four, fourth, fifth, and sixth at the moment.
02:53Clout starting to close down on Phil Nicoletti as he made the pass pretty early on in this
02:59one.
02:59But that battle between Walsh and Melros, not organized just yet.
03:05And Harrison still trying to battle it out between these two.
03:08As we still have eight laps to go.
03:11Walsh has gotten some great starts.
03:13Really since the first gate drop at Redcliffe, he has put himself in great positions.
03:17And you can tell watching, we have all the main players, one through four, Dean Wilson, Phil
03:23Nicoletti, Luke Clout, Aaron Tanty, watching these guys right now, trying to make up time
03:29on this track.
03:30As Phil makes a big mistake, Luke Clout gets into second place.
03:36Oh, this is going to get good for second, JB.
03:38Yeah, right up ahead of Dylan Walsh there.
03:40You see the Yamahas going at it right there.
03:43Luke Clout gets around, Phil Nicoletti for second place.
03:46Let's see if Clout can make a run.
03:48But Dean Wilson about a four second lead right now.
03:50That's a pretty comfy one.
03:52Walsh there trying to keep in tow with these riders as this one rides away from the rest
03:59of the field.
04:00He has himself a 3.6 second lead at the moment as he rounds the left-hander.
04:05There is Clout, second place, moving towards the whoops at the moment.
04:11Up and over the wall jump, dodging the riders that have gone down in front of him.
04:16We have lost Aaron Tanty.
04:21Aaron Tanty and Phil Nicoletti look like they got into a wreck behind Luke Clout.
04:26Nicoletti is still third, but we've lost Tanty.
04:30He's down after the finish line, unfortunate crash.
04:33But that start for Luke Clout, fastest in qualifying earlier today was unbelievable.
04:40Him and Dean Wilson were just going back and forth for fastest on track.
04:44But that start, and Dean knew that he had to get out front early and was able to make it happen.
04:48And I think for Luke Clout right now, after the struggles that he had at the first couple
04:54rounds, being a lot of points down, for him right now, I think this would be a great result.
05:00You've got to just start stacking some momentum as we've been talking about all night.
05:06Just as I say that, makes a big mistake there in the whoops.
05:10Gets off through the tough blocks.
05:12He's able to keep it on two wheels.
05:15Well, that was very close, coming together with those tough blocks.
05:18As we see Harrison here with all the pressure to the back wheel of Walsh.
05:22Looks to the outside.
05:23He goes into this rhythm.
05:25Cedric Suboros has been sitting back there quietly.
05:27Hasn't really been able to do anything in this final.
05:30He started a long way back, but really hasn't moved forward many positions.
05:33A lot of these guys, right now, to me, it looks difficult to make up time.
05:38So I think a lot of the passes are happening by guys capitalizing on mistakes.
05:44Yeah, there's no doubt about that as Harrison tries to go up the inside of Walsh right there.
05:48And Nicoletti seems like he's coming back to him a little bit.
05:50He takes his arm off the bar, off the finish line.
05:54I'm not sure what's going on right there.
05:55But Phil typically really good in the whoops.
05:57Let's see if he has a good pass here.
05:58Well, sometimes, I think, especially for Phil Nicoletti, right now, in these short races,
06:04super easy to go out there and get arm pumped.
06:07So maybe just getting a little relief from that.
06:10Quick pass for the 86 machine of Harrison.
06:14He moves up one more position.
06:15Gets past Walsh.
06:16As to Suboros.
06:17And now Harrison, eyes set on Phil Nicoletti, just there in front of him.
06:23Walsh, still there, but starting to slip backwards at the moment.
06:27Sits in sixth place and falling into the grasp of Melros, who's just behind them.
06:33All the while, our leader out to a 7.8 second lead.
06:37Wow.
06:38Oh, it has the two Yamahas almost coming together there.
06:41Yeah, there you see Nicoletti and Harrison going at it, allowing Cedric Subares to get up
06:46alongside him, and this is a huge pass.
06:48If Cedric can get by these through, remember, he's second in the championship.
06:52He's only 16 points down on Dean Wilson, and he knows, we know his riders as Nicoletti
06:56makes a big mistake right there.
07:00Subra's able to get around him.
07:02And I've seen Phil Nicoletti's things start happening a little quick for the 29 right now,
07:07going backwards.
07:09So difficult when you start making mistakes in a race to kind of refocus,
07:13continue to focus on your process.
07:16And right now, Phil just needs to take a breath, get back to work.
07:21Through the rhythm section, these riders starting to get into some of these lapped riders
07:25as they go towards the finish line.
07:28Two laps to go as they are really starting to settle themselves into these positions.
07:33The gaps between them a little bit too big at the moment to really mount any kind of challenge.
07:38As we see on the left, the leaderboard, Wilson, Clout, Harrison on screen, now in third place.
07:44Subra's fourth.
07:46Those last couple of laps have been healthy for his championship points.
07:49I think this is a big couple laps for Cedric Subra.
07:53He needs to put some pressure on Harrison to send a message,
07:55because I do believe Harrison really sensed the first two rounds at Redcliffe.
08:00He's looked a lot better today, and you just don't want your competitors to get more and more confidence
08:03to be able to get up there and get podiums, so I think this is a big battle for the championship down the stretch.
08:09Not for the win, but for top three in the championship between Harrison and Subra.
08:12And we know how much talent Mitchell Harrison has.
08:16Had a great season in pro motocross in America.
08:20Coming here, getting on the CDR Monster Energy Yamaha.
08:24Really talked to him in the press conference.
08:26Really likes the motorcycles.
08:27His first trip here to Australia, so you know he's going to continue to get better right now, running a solid third.
08:33Dean Wilson's final lap for the first of our finals.
08:40He has got himself an enormous lead as he negotiates his way through the last of these lapped riders
08:46before coming around to greet the checkered flag in just two turns time.
08:50Doubles his way through, keeps it nice and safe, stays well clear of any drama.
08:55But a great way to start the night for the 15 machine extends out his championship lead
09:00and will pick up the first win of the night in the SX-1.
09:07Just Dean Wilson doing Dean Wilson things, JB.
09:10Perfect on the season so far.
09:14Max points in every single race.
09:16What is that, Hammy?
09:17That's five in a row?
09:18Five in a row.
09:19That's an impressive feat right there.
09:22As we see, Glu Klout quickly pulling up.
09:26Little fist pump there.
09:27Appreciating the challenge between them.
09:30It went all the way to the very last turn.
09:32And we saw a glimpse of it as they went across there for Harrison Suboros.
09:36As we look at those official race results for the Yamaha SX-1.
09:40Final number one, Dean Wilson, Luke Klout, Mitchell Harrison just holding on over Cedric Suboros there in fourth place.
09:46Phil Nicoletti, Dylan Walsh, Hayden Melrose, Luke Salinski, Liam Jackson, Gile Campbell and Dylan Woods in 11th place.
09:57Unfortunate for Tanti, as you can see right there, down in 17th place.
10:01So a pretty big hit from what we saw out the window.
10:05Hopefully he's okay, can light it up again for the next race.
10:08Let's head down to Dean Wilson, who is with Trent.
10:12Dean Wilson, another main event win there for yourself.
10:15That one looked like a little bit of work, but then clinical once you got to the lead and you just made it happen.
10:20That was good.
10:21A start just makes life so much easier.
10:23And I had a lock-in for that start.
10:26It was important.
10:27And, yeah, just steadily tucked off my laps.
10:30It was solid.
10:30Didn't do anything crazy.
10:33And I felt pretty comfortable.
10:35So I had to roll the finish line one lap.
10:37I'm still not sure on the yellow flag situation if I'm allowed to jump or not.
10:41So I just rolled it anyways.
10:42So, yeah, good start.
10:43One more to go.
10:44There you go, guys.
10:45The importance of the start is very clear.
10:49And from where he started, that's a pretty impressive feat to get the jump that he did.
10:53Well, really impressive.
10:54And I was kind of pointing it out when we were starting that main event.
10:58It was, Dean was way on the outside.
11:00I mean, we haven't seen a whole shot come from that far out really all day.
11:04So, impressive.
11:05And he mentioned it.
11:06You have to lock in.
11:07And that's what we talk about, the championship mentality.
11:09Dean Wilson has it.
11:11And I love what he said about the yellow flag rule.
11:13When in doubt, when in doubt, roll it.
11:16When in doubt, roll it.
11:17Not worth the penalty, but just an amazing ride from Dean Wilson.
11:20And it's just what you've come to expect from the 15.
11:23He's the real deal.
11:25Great result once again for Dean Wilson.
11:27It's been a perfect season.
11:28Five races, five starts, five wins.
11:31Can he make it six in a row?
11:32We'll find out a little bit later on.
11:34Don't go anywhere.
11:35Up next, the SX3.
