00:00Look, I'm going to just keep it a buck with you guys.
00:03I, nor this city, is ready nor equipped to handle both the Mets and Yankees playoff letdown.
00:09That whole Soto-Yankees breakup in the offseason breathed life into the borough of Queens.
00:14And the hype and expectations were already riding high because we saw World Series baseball back in the Bronx a couple of months before that.
00:22You throw in the Knicks Eastern Conference Finals run in the spring, and the fall and the stage was all set for the show.
00:30Are the baseball gods punishing New York fans again for overhyping a team too early?
00:36Because it looks like we're about to be disappointed more than a bad tender date because both these teams might not make the playoffs, let alone the World Series.
00:44Brian Cashman cooked that July 31st trade deadline, but 1-5 post-deadline means Aaron Boone put raisins in the potato salad.
00:54This team's got no flavor nor fundamentals.
00:57And the Mets did a reverse grimace and dropped eight of the last nine.
01:00And to add the insult, all of their best players are on the back of milk cartons right now instead of on base.
01:06None of these dudes are getting a hit.
01:08So we're left with two options.
01:09You either stay locked in and go for the ride, or you just punt it on the baseball season.
01:14And you get ready for the Jets Giants.
