00:00Aaron, you had a 6-1 lead in this one at one point.
00:04How do you kind of wrap your head around what happened here?
00:06Yeah, I mean, obviously a really tough one.
00:09You know, to build a big lead, you know, Roto's kind of cruising early on there
00:13and then just kind of just had trouble with the strikes on there those last two innings
00:18and just got up to a point where it was, you know, I had to go get them.
00:22So, you know, kept pulling away and then they took the lead
00:27and a lot of fight to get back to tie it
00:30and then take the lead there with two outs again in the ninth
00:33and, you know, unfortunately just, you know, had a tough time holding them down, obviously.
00:38You mentioned Rodon just four and two-thirds for him.
00:39What do you think caused him to lose the strike zone there, especially later in his outing?
00:43Yeah, not sure because he went off a lot, I didn't feel like.
00:46It wasn't like it was, you know, scatter, but just, you know, just missing on some pitches,
00:52missing on some 3-2 counts because I thought in the early innings
00:57he was pretty sharp and I thought stuff was okay, but just, you know, just lost the strike zone a little bit.
01:03You used all three of your new relievers in Bird, Bednar, and then Duvall at the end.
01:07Were both Williams and Weaver unavailable tonight?
01:10Yeah, we're going to stay away from Weave, Williams, and Hill tonight
01:13just with as much as we've used them, you know, of late.
01:16So, you know, set up in a good spot there to get through there
01:22and obviously just a struggle tonight.
01:24With Caballero there and the ball out to right field, just what happened there?
01:30Yeah, I mean, I was kind of blocked out, just looked like he just missed it.
01:34Yeah, probably, I don't know if he was coming up to throw too quick or whatever,
01:37but, yeah, just, you know, obviously a play, got a handle.
01:42With Bednar's numbers against lefties, any thoughts on going to him for Stowers with the bases?
01:48A little bit, but then I'm really short getting to the end.
01:51And Bird is, you know, kind of a neutral reverse.
01:56We like him against lefties too, so there was, but then I'm just, you know,
02:02you know, in a bind there trying to get the ball to the end
02:06with staying away from some people.
02:08What's the challenge of throwing those three guys right in the fire
02:11and kind of trying to learn them and then kind of deal with what happened to you?
02:15Yeah, I mean, you know, not how you draw it up, but, you know,
02:18those guys are really good at what they do.
02:21And, you know, it's not the first time they've, you know, had a rough one
02:25and fully expect them to bounce back.
02:28And, you know, we'll get them tomorrow.
02:32I don't know how encouraging is what you're seeing from Bolte right now.
02:37You've been obviously in this corner all season long,
02:41which is what you've seen from him.
02:42Yeah, like quietly when he was still struggling,
02:45we were starting to see some things just within his swing
02:49and how he's kind of delivering the head.
02:52And, you know, there was kind of a 10-day stretch in there
02:57where he wasn't getting a lot of results,
02:58but he was really starting to drive the ball a little bit.
03:00They ran some balls down on the gap.
03:02Now, you know, he's starting to find some results
03:05against some tough righties too.
03:07So it's good to see.
03:09We've got to keep it going.
03:10Aaron, you look at the home runs for Volpe,
03:12three in his last four, game seven in his last 13.
03:15Just what do you make of that uptick of power?
03:18That, like we kind of, that's what we, you know,
03:20we're starting to see even through some of the struggles,
03:22like some of the things he was doing with, you know,
03:27his swing and how he was delivering the bat head and stuff.
03:30He didn't get results right away,
03:31but it was starting to kind of under the hood trend in a good way,
03:35and now he's starting to get some results, which is good to see.
03:37We need to keep it going.
03:39Especially in that inning with Bird and Bednar,
03:40was there anything in the Marlins' approach that stood out to you
03:43about the way they were on him?
03:45I don't know.
03:45You know, I thought Bird was just not the quality of strikes, you know,
03:50like, you know, wasn't in the strike zone where he needed to be enough.
03:53You know, and Stowers is obviously tough, so, yeah, just a tough outing,
04:00just not enough quality strikes there.
04:02The go-ahead run that you scored in the ninth, pinch hitter, pinch runner,
04:06clutch hitting, just what does that say about where the offense is?
04:09Yeah, I mean, that's, you know, a little more what we are now,
04:12what we're capable of doing.
04:14We're, you know, a little more options like that where I feel like we can be
04:19a little more versatile late in games, and, you know,
04:24unfortunately we couldn't finish it off, you know,
04:26but definitely a case of, you know, the bench playing a big role in a big spot.
