00:00all right dexter i have five stats from week three in the nfl you tell me do these stats matter okay
00:05first one malik neighbors two catches on sunday night football against the chiefs last week
00:10the last time he had two catches week 10 of his sophomore year in 2022 back at lsu what
00:18does that stat matter yeah it matters it absolutely matters and you know why because
00:24malik neighbors is a player in the giants i'm concerned about right he needs to get the ball
00:28he's the most talented offensive player and if you can't feed him he can't he can't catch the ball
00:32that's gonna be a problem he's used to getting the ball you just told me this is a while ago
00:36since he's had that low of output in terms of catches now look the chiefs last week they played
00:42a lot of double high safety on him they took things away from him and that's fine but you got to find
00:48a way to get that man the ball because he's not gonna be happy moon ball was was not available
00:52no no and now that you've got jackson dart a little mobility maybe another safety comes down
00:58and opens back up uh some stuff from leak neighbors but the last time he had less than
01:02two catches yeah second game of his college career so it was an all-time terrible terrible game i guess
01:09not even neighbor like he was just locked up right it's an all-time terrible production day from
01:14yeah i think he'll be fine and bounce back just terrible production day number two tyrod taylor was
01:20second among all quarterbacks in week three impacted by drops according to epa does that matter
01:26yeah it absolutely matters when you look at how bad the jets offense was in that game
01:31particularly in the first half and look his receivers did him no favors you obviously saw
01:35the interception he threw at the end of the first half garrett wilson gave up on running his route in
01:39the ball that hurt but yeah the offense would click a little bit more if guys caught the ball you know
01:44how you get yards catching the ball and if you don't catch the ball it hurts the offense for sure
01:48it's not just been week week three either they're second in the league in drops with nine only behind
01:52the jags who have had terrible drop problems yo that's a stat that matters even more in my opinion
01:56so this is just consistent we've seen through two weeks three weeks excuse me they've been dropping
02:00the ball nfl offenses are averaging 317.9 yards per game this season that's the lowest since 2005
02:09does that matter it might probably too too early and look at that sample size in terms of that it makes
02:19me wonder a couple of things are we seeing better defenses or is the quarterback player overall
02:25has that been taking a regression league i tend to lean more to the latter in my thought right now that
02:32the quarterback play has gone down in the league but i think i need to see more of a trend of this
02:38like i'd like to see the stat after week six i'm interested how it goes longer into the year because
02:43when the weather gets colder you think the yards go down but also you're getting more comfortable
02:48in your offense so fair but also defenses are getting more comfortable in their system so i'm
02:52not sure i'm interested in how it's it usually gets throughout the season but interesting 20 years
02:58we haven't seen offenses be this bad to start a season at least interesting number four i had to do
03:02this daniel jones only quarterback in the last 75 years to have each of the following three and oh start
03:10over 70 completion percentage over 850 total yards six or more total touchdowns no turnovers
03:19he's the only quarterback to do only quarterback in the last 75 years to do that i know that brought
03:25a lot of joy to your heart to bring up those stats he's playing out of his mind he's playing out
03:28of his mind right now listen i know we talked about this before it's kind of wait and see mode
03:32does it matter yeah because danny dimes hasn't been that good i'll tell you who it matters to a lot
03:39giants fans they don't feel good about any of this at all whatsoever now listen tommy i know you agree
03:45me on this we got to see the consistency here with daniel jones beyond these three games but i think
03:49it's going to build confidence for the colts as they continue to roll he's done it against a good
03:54defense in the denver broncos he's got another good defense he's facing this week in the rams
03:58more will tell but it matters he's in it that's a nice class and that's not just throwing some
04:03numbers together that's not some bs stat that tommy put up here those are all high efficiency
04:08numbers and he's producing it's an all-time start all-time start he's looking great we're gonna find
04:12out a lot this week against the rams we'll see in la last one packers had won 300 straight games
04:19went up 10 plus points in the final four minutes does that matter and then they did not they did not
04:26the browns the browns syracuse andre schmidt auto andre i know you like that i did like that
04:32schmidt happens and schmidt happens does it matter or not not really but here's here's the thing
04:39you don't want to ever lose a streak like that to the browns they are the browns fair this is not
04:45the person you want to lose that streak to like you couldn't close against the browns look it's
04:49disappointing for the packers in the grand scheme of things i still think they're one of the best teams
04:52in football and i think they'll be fine so i'm saying no it doesn't matter but internally you
04:56didn't want it to happen to the browns it is the browns i agree with you i agree with you it seems
04:59like a when it's happened 300 straight times this is the outlier this is the fluke i think they're
05:04gonna be just fine yeah it'll still be what we thought two weeks into the season one of the best
05:08teams in the nfl i agree doesn't matter week three
