00:38kind of cut a little little routes on air as well they're not gonna push it
00:41they're gonna check his body but Paul I don't think you're wearing the shades
00:45today you got to see Malik up close and personal what did you see from from one
00:51Malik neighbors in his first on the field reps since the injury these are new
00:57shades what do you think nice nice he looked nice too yeah and and and this
01:01is I have perfect vision with these shades okay okay you needed that vision to see
01:05him out there look that's the vision that Giants fans want to see right they need
01:09to see Malik neighbors on the field Jackson Dart said what he's got an aura he's got
01:14a presence I said wait a second Jackson run doing some individual routes and a
01:19couple little drills his aura and presence he said it just that's that's it
01:22you know when he's on the field so I think that is the biggest story that comes out on
01:27this beautiful look at this beautiful background with the mountains you know we're in your white
01:32sofa Springs West Virginia and and none of that anxiety of Malik neighbors made this trip
01:38now I thought he looked fine look they're not pushing it I'm trying to watch every the last
01:44time I saw him running around was at that softball game right and it kind of has a little giddy
01:48up
01:48and he's doing this but he was just protecting himself I think he looked fine for what he was
01:52doing out there today you're the wide receiver you know I'd like to know what your educated eyes say
01:57but that is for day one that is everything the Giants fans can expect and hope and dream about that
02:03as as Jackson Dart said we had one quarter and one week he had one week to practice and one
02:10quarter
02:10on the field so this is like a new player coming back for Jackson Dart if we were going to
02:14go back
02:14to the softball game I was worried when I saw him out there but obviously you had to have some
02:19sort
02:19of confidence in yourself in that knee if you're going to put yourself out there playing dodgeball
02:24today we saw the ultimate confidence when it so when we saw Malik neighbors running in and out of
02:30this breaks during drills kind of trying to put plant on that on that knee as well trying to run
02:36out of different cuts and breaks you can see a player who really wants to get back out there on
02:42the
02:42field again I'm using the word confidence again because I feel as though he feel he's like all
02:48right where I am right now I'm going to try and push some more another day they're going to rest
02:53we're going to recover they're going to hold me back but where he is I think he has the ultimate
02:57confidence in his knee right now knows he's not 100% can't play just yet they're going to have good
03:02enough good enough they're going to have to tamp or that down without a doubt you know and look he
03:08went
03:08in he did his stuff and then he went in now let's see our response tomorrow maybe he's a little
03:12sort of one maybe he is this is not what do we have six seven weeks before the start of
03:17the season
03:18this is not a rush job it's great to see him out there look it was a victory from Malik

03:23that he wasn't on the physically unable to prepare us to start this and I was a little skeptical and

03:28said I think he'll start on the pup list he didn't um he's did more today than I thought he
03:32would
03:33have you know a couple of months ago when I was thinking about day one of training camp so
03:36yeah I mean I mean that that's that's the best thing Giants fans can hope the number one will
03:42be out there day one game one against the Calvars and you heard John Harbaugh talk about it just
03:47taking it one day at a time day by day and here's a guy that he's been through this situation
03:51he's
03:51been through every single situation when we could talk about NFL football from injuries to scheduling
03:57just the wild stuff that happens in between the lines so again at the end of the day that was
04:03really that was that was very encouraging to see and you could take the social media already and
04:09everybody's posting the reps he took today so that's that's really good to see and we heard Joe
04:15Shane speak to the media this morning and he was talking about camp battles obviously who's going to
04:20be one of the starters at the cornerback position but then he talked about the wide receiver room
04:25couldn't wait to see guys like Odell Malachi Fields Darius Slayton who returned and looked healthy
04:32today actually caught a ball today couldn't wait to see who was going to be that guy that stepped up
04:38day one you're only in in jerseys no nothing's really overly physical right now but when we're
04:45talking about the wide receiver battle who stood out for you first and let's talk about it well I mean
04:50I've talked to you about it all spring about Calvin Austin you know and we list guys we list guys
04:54and Calvin Austin's like kind of not even there I mean Calvin Austin's been I think probably the
04:58best receiver in the spring and today I mean was he the best receiver on the field today could have
05:02been yeah and I thought Malachi Fields looked excellent also um Slayton had one catch you know
05:08he's working his way back sports sports hernia surgery so they look they know what they got
05:12Darius Slayton so we don't have to worry about him we talked about Malik neighbors um yeah it's going
05:17to be a battle you know that one crazy day in the spring where they signed Braxton Berrios Odell Beckham
05:22Jr.
05:22and Juju Smith-Schuster were like wow that's a lot of depth that's a lot of firepower and all three
05:28of these guys can't make the team that's all there is to it um Braxton Berrios gives you a returner
05:33kick returner element so that gives him a step up I thought he looked pretty good today caught a deep
05:38ball right deep ball from Jameis a deep ball which is not what you think about Braxton Berrios when you
05:43think of a slot guy you know going side to side so that was good um you know Odell looked
05:49fine he looked
05:49fine I mean he didn't do anything special he didn't do a whole lot of anything he did his drills
05:53um you know caught a few passes here and there um he looked fine and and that and fine right
05:59now for
05:59Odell is actually fine it's fine get through day one then get through day two then get through day
06:05three he's 33 years old so um it's strange to say for a guy who was an incredible newsmaker
06:12about Odell that no news is actually good news but on day one no news is actually good news
06:18I think people need to tamper or manage their expectations when it comes to Odell like there's
06:22only one football that can go around like you think about the guys who didn't touch the ball today or
06:27so many with so many receivers out there only x amount can get reps he's going with the twos and
06:34you know you could you could loosely say that because at this point there are guys if you know
06:38the playbook you're going to get in there with Jackson Dart you're going to go with a Jameis Winston
06:43if Braxton Berrios can catch a deep post for a touchdown from a Jameis Winston Odell's time is
06:50going to come when it comes time to get that type of ball to get that type of target so
06:56you saw him
06:56walking to the the cold tub for recovery but that's the biggest thing if he could come out put days
07:03together didn't have a catch in competition periods but just just continue to look good continue to be
07:09fine and then when you get to uh maybe that first preseason game against the Vikings or the second
07:15one against the Dolphins then you have to have one to two Odell moments because you don't want them
07:20you don't want to have to play that third game against the Jets if you're Odell Beckham Jr.
07:27Right at some point you have to make plays and and and convince the coaches that you deserve to be
07:31on
07:32the field on Sunday not just about surviving and staying healthy but for now surviving and staying
07:37healthy is fine and then we'll see about the playmaking and the endurance um I think it was
07:42it was a Joe Shane it was a John Harbaugh that said I thought Odell you know he needed to
07:46get a little
07:46better shape you know actually after that first workout yeah yeah that's right after the first
07:51workout he gets a little better shape um obviously he got in a better shape to be signed so look

07:56he hasn't played in a while he didn't play last year so um you know like I said but one
08:00day no
08:01news yeah they even said Joe Shane I believe said he looked a lot better in the spring than a
08:06guy
08:06and moved a lot better than the guy who sat out of football for a full year I'll I'd be
08:11remiss if
08:12we didn't talk about the RB1 title battle uh Camp Scadaboo back out there look good look fast look
08:19quick Tyrone Tracy added a different element to it I can't give a title to these guys it's like me
08:26and
08:26my dating life I can't give titles Paul I just can't do it right now I think these two have
08:32a chance
08:32to be a really good duo and really complement each other in this football season well we saw it you
08:39know for part of the season last year until Camp Scadaboo went out what a week 10 right you know
08:43and
08:43and that was it for him was dislocated ankle um you know I I mean I'm not as bullish as
08:48these guys
08:49maybe as you are I mean I think they're capable running backs you know I mean they're a capable one
08:53two punch but this isn't you know Tiki Barber and Brandon Jacobs you know the these are these are
09:01serviceable you know starting running backs I think a fourth and a fifth round pick that's what
09:06they are yeah that's and and you can you can do great things Ahmad Bradshaw was a seventh round pick
09:10so you know I get uh the Brandon Jacobs was a fourth round pick so that's I'm not disparaging that
09:15but
09:16yeah look scam is uh Cam Scadaboo was healthy um when we were waiting for Joe Shane Joe Shane he
09:22was
09:22you know kind of do small talk with us and you hear some guy come out and scream it's Cam
09:27Scadaboo
09:28right that's Cam he's got the attitude he does the backflips you know I thought Joe Shane was funny
09:32he said he was out to dinner with two other NFL people couples and um um you know he got
09:39something on
09:39his phone he looked at it and somebody sent him the uh the Cam Scadaboo back backflip you know and
09:45he didn't land it you know John Harbaugh said you know at least if he's going to do it he's
09:48got to
09:48stick the landing and you know Shane it just sounded like he was talking about a 20 or 22 year
09:53olds
09:54kid and it's like roll your eyes and you say Cam I you don't need to do that okay don't
10:01do it but
10:01it's not like the end of the world he's not going to get fined it's just just don't do it
10:06dude um
10:07that that's the way it is it's not a big deal but it's not enough gotta mention Jackson Dart how

10:13look today before we move on to defense I wanted to ask him during his media availability like
10:18athletically did you get did you get bigger like you know you don't want to say bigger because some
10:22guys would be like oh what do you mean am I fat or something but he looks like he's a
10:26little bit
10:26he's stronger he's got a little bit more muscle mass but I can say today and you ask that question
10:34he looks like he knows and knows he knows this offense he was in command I thought he looked really
10:41good I mean you know and not like lights out good yeah he just looked like he's the starting
10:46quarterback he made the throws he made the reads he's clearly more comfortable under center now than
10:52he was at this time last year don't forget one year ago back in New Jersey he was the the
10:57first
10:58round pick he was a backup clearly a backup to Russell Wilson and he was kind of battling he was
11:04getting most of the second team rest and it looked like okay they want him to be the backup and
11:08James to be the number three and that's the way it turned out for the first three games
11:12um and he did some good things in practice but this was a workmanlike professional hit the open
11:18receiver um you know another another you know this is like I said it doesn't have to be highlight film
11:25stuff out there because that's not what they're doing you know they're doing two minute drill they're
11:29doing hurry up they're doing certain things and um he did a lot of good things so um he sounds
11:34good
11:35um he's he's funny talking about being here there's not much to do here in West Virginia so we're just
11:41going to hang out together um uh you know look this is a great setting and um I think Jackson
11:47I think
11:48getting away he was probably going to help Jackson a little bit I think his his best throw of the
11:51day
11:52was a rollout off of a play action to Calvin Austin yeah third on a deep comeback just put it
11:57on there
11:57yeah Paulson Adebo was on Calvin Austin the third but ball placement and the velocity is what won that
12:03route good route but better but even better throw so year two Jackson Dart I'm anxious to see that step
12:10that he takes uh one physically two mentally uh as well and he talked about you know going up against
12:17this new Giants defense and he said it during the availability tomorrow and other days Denard's
12:23going to throw something else at us and we got a chance to see the Twin Towers in the middle
12:29with
12:30Arville Reese who's relatively quiet today and Jermaine Edmonds uh we also got to see Brian Burns
12:36Kayvon Thibodeau flying off the edge Abdul Carter looks like he's a lot bigger that front seven you
12:42know DJ Reader made a play today in the backfield where do you where do you put in terms of
12:50pressure
12:50on that front seven to be dominant scale of one to ten where do you put that in ten you
12:56guys you have to
12:57be top five in the league when it comes to stopping the run and applying pressure to the quarterbacks
13:02oh it's it's an eight or nine because the back end is is is a question mark with you you
13:06know only the
13:07rare teams can be great on the back and great in the middle and great up front you know what
13:11I mean
13:11that's that's the you know the 2000 Ravens yeah great everywhere um you know the Giants when they
13:16won their two Super Bowls in seven and eleven they weren't great everywhere you know they weren't
13:21they weren't great in the defensive backfield they were good and smart and tough and they had
13:26great pass rushers you know they weren't great they had Antonio Pierce they had you know um um
13:33Blackburn you know Chase Blackburn no they didn't have all pros you know everything like that they
13:38but they were great up front this team should be great up front why look at the investment Brian
13:43Burns the highest paid player on the team traded for him uh Kayvon Thibodeau number five pick in the
13:47draft Albu Carter number three pick in the draft Arbel Reese who's a linebacker who'll play up front
13:53uh number five pick in the draft five right yep five so you know I mean that's where the money
13:58is
13:58that's where the investment is so they have to be great but I'm still you know not sure about this
14:03back end now you know I mean we talked a little bit before we we started filming he thought Deontay
14:08Banks looked good yes confident yes some plays on the ball that's a good thing um you know I don't
14:14think Colson Adigo quite frankly looks like oh that's CV1 oh that that's lockdown CV1 I just don't
14:20think he looks like that it's day one I'm not worried about it but he didn't look like it a
14:23lot
14:23last year when they paid him a lot of money um Javon Holland we talked about had a chance for
14:28interception off a tip ball seven on seven yeah seven I mean there's nobody there he's got to
14:32catch it he's got to take it to the house he dropped it got some ribbing from his teammates
14:35so um so let's see let's see day one you know I still have some questions about the defensive
14:40path yeah and I want to see them make those plays because when we saw Braxton Berrios score on that
14:45deep post you saw the little belt the BTA offense runs down there they're jumping they're having that
14:52that that that celebration that that's a feel-good moment for the offense I think the Javon Holland
14:57that it was a tip pick right to him over the middle and you hear Tyler Newbin say hey I
15:02need that from
15:02you I need that from you so then here's a defense that you can tell Denard Wilson is really beating
15:09it
15:09to them that we have to force turnovers we have to make these offenses turn the ball over because we
15:17feel like we've got something on the offensive side of the football that can capitalize same thing so
15:22when I believe it was Tremaine Edmonds runs into it to Washington they weren't able to come down with
15:28with the interception across the middle again Edmonds is doing push-ups on the sidelines so you know
15:34that turning the football over or causing turnovers is a point of emphasis this year and I wanted to
15:41see it on day one because the offense got their deep ball their deep touchdowns you wanted to see
15:47complimentary football and the defense get their turnover but against day one Paul yeah not a big
15:52deal I think when the pads come on the defense will be a little more ferocious and I think that's
15:57where we see the tips against lastly uh I mean because it took us a long time to get here
16:02yesterday
16:03I was on the staff plane got in about 1 30 in the morning because of the weather I haven't
16:09really
16:09been able to tour the grounds just yet what do you think about uh the Greenbrier here in White
16:14Sulphur Springs West Virginia well this is what I've seen so far I mean behind us we got the lovely
16:19array of porta potty for the fans so we'll be coming in tomorrow look the mountains the Allegheny
16:23Mountains beautiful the fields look great this is a football facility yes it is I have not you know I
16:28need to go see the Greenbrier too you know it's such a big complex that you can just come to
16:32this
16:33football facility you don't even know there's a world-class resort here because it's just not
16:37right here yeah I mean this is a this is a football you know look the NFL is not going
16:41to come here
16:42the Saints came here the Browns are practiced here the Texans are practiced here sometimes teams when
16:47they're going you know they're flying cross country they don't want to go all the way back
16:50if a west coast team doesn't want to go all the way back east and west and back east so
16:55they stop
16:55here and practice for a few days so the NFL is not going to be here if it's not an
17:00NFL quality
17:01facility there's a weight room there's a full-scale you know cafeteria they have a big tent out there
17:06there's all all the the uh the therapy things they need uh these two grass fields look pristine
17:11um there's a turf field down there down the hill the weather's a little cooler so look this is this
17:17is an NFL facility in a non-NFL site and um yeah look for for day one it's great it's
17:24great it's great
17:24the John Harbour seems thrilled with it the players seem you know it was training kit players don't like
17:29training that's all there's to it but having training camp here I think we'll be fine with
17:32a lot of these players all about stacking days not only as a player but also as a team as
17:37well
