00:00Big win for the Giants over the Eagles on Thursday Night Football, but the NFL is now opening an investigation after Giants head coach Brian Dable stormed the sideline, yelled at the team physician, and even stuck his head into the medical tent while his quarterback, Jackson Dart, was getting checked for a concussion.
00:17We're going to play the video. As I break it down, we'll play Dave's response, and then I'll go into exactly what the NFL is investigating. So it all happened late in the third quarter. Jackson Dart hit the ground pretty hard. The medical staff did what they are supposed to do, and that's pull him aside into the medical tent and run an evaluation for a possible concussion.
00:38But you can see Dable here. He's screaming as he heads towards the blue medical tent. He, like any head coach in the moment, wanted answers on his starting quarterback who was having a heck of a game at that time.
00:50You can see Dave's here, again, yelling, when is he going to be cleared? Can he get back in there now? Now, he also ran into the medical tent to check on the first-round pick, as did running back Cam Scadaboo.
01:02So Dave spoke to the reporters after the win, and he tried to clear up exactly what happened.
01:10If you've ever been on an NFL sideline, there's a lot of emotions. I know I was asked about gloves the other day. There's a lot of emotions, and I certainly am an emotional guy.
01:18I apologized directly to our team physician. I just wanted his ass out there if he was okay, but I wanted the process like we were getting ready to go for it on potential fourth down.
01:29I would have burned a timeout if he could have came out there, so I was asking, how long is it going to take?
01:33Again, you want your guy out there? Not at risk of anything else, but, you know, he came out, and I think he's going to be good.
01:39I'm like, is he going to be good or not? I'm going to call a timeout on fourth down and go for this son of a*****. You know what I mean?
01:44So, I love our doctors.
01:49I get the emotion in a game like that. You had fourth down coming up. The stakes were high.
01:54The fan base was frustrated, but according to ESPN, the league is now investigating the application of the concussion protocol
02:01because Dart missed just two plays in a defensive series before returning back to the game.
02:07The NFL has questions, and hopefully Dable has some answers because we already know the NFL is already under a lot of heat
02:14for how concussions have been handled in the past.
02:17You should know that Jackson Dart was not diagnosed with a concussion before he returned to the game,
02:22and he now has 10 days to rest up before a road game against the Denver Broncos.
02:27We'll see how the league responds, and we're going to keep you guys posted with more information on all of this as more news breaks.
