00:00Police said they've charged three men, you've mentioned their ages, each of them are facing
00:06five charges, including murder. Police say they are well known to them. They say it was
00:10related to an incident that happened late at night on April the 17th. Police say the
00:15men forced entry into a home in Bankstown in Sydney's southwest. They say they were
00:20armed, or at least two of them were, one with a baseball bat, the other with a firearm.
00:24An eight-year-old boy suffered head injuries. This is what homicide squad commander Joe
00:28Dewey had to say. Remarkably the eight-year-old child has made a really good
00:32recovery. Initial reports were that he was going to have lifetime injuries but
00:36remarkably he's recovered really well. Psychologically I think that's probably
00:40still ongoing there and how they're being treated and how they go in there.
00:43Following the alleged assault, police say T Kim Tran, a 45-year-old woman, was forced into a car.
00:50About an hour later a car was found on fire in nearby Beverly Hills. The car was
00:55destroyed and inside were the remains of Miss Tran. Police say the target was Miss
00:59Tran's husband. They say he allegedly stole 80 kilograms of drugs from a crime
01:06network in Victoria. They say that while she was held they were sending text
01:11messages to her husband in an attempt to lure him out. Let's take a listen to what
01:15homicide squad commander Joe Dewey had to say.
01:19What we know is that the syndicate or the group were attempting to communicate with the
01:25husband to lure him out to murder him and attempt to recover their stolen or
01:31alleged missing drugs. When that failed they had always planned to attend that
01:38victim's residence. We will allege that regardless of what happened it was their
01:43intention to attend that address, kidnap the victim and murder her.
01:50Among the text messages that were sent were included a photo, police say, of Miss Tran to
01:54her husband. They say since the incident they have made contact with her husband.
