00:00Tim Hepworth has been named locally as the man who was killed in a fatal stabbing which took place here in Noreen Avenue in Minster on the Isle of Sheppey.
00:11He was in his 50s and was killed just a stone's throw away from his home.
00:17He is thought to have been attacked around 6.30pm on Saturday.
00:22Residents told me that they had heard a commotion around that time and the police were called.
00:26Alongside officers, paramedics and a fire engine were sent to the scene.
00:31One witness said that there was around 12 emergency service vehicles in the street at the time of the incident.
00:39Another said that there were masses of police cars here.
00:42Life-saving efforts were made including one from one resident I've been told who jumped out of her car to try to save Tim.
00:51However, he died at the scene.
00:53During the police investigation, both sides of the road were taped off as well as one of the alleyways that leaked into the street.
01:03There were sniffer dogs, forensics and unmarked police cars.
01:08The road was reopened around about 9 or 10 o'clock last night.
01:12There's been tributes left for Tim at his doorstep, including floral tributes, so bunches of flowers as well as written notes.
01:23Shortly after Tim's death, police arrested a man.
01:26And today the force confirmed that 23-year-old William Hepworth from Alma Road in Sheerness has been charged with murder.
01:37He is set to be in Medway Magistrates Court later today.
01:42It's understood that the person who killed Tim and Tim knew each other.
01:46I've been door knocking today down in Noreen Avenue, talking to witnesses and residents, and there is a sense that a lot of people actually saw what happened and or saw the emergency services turn up here later on.
02:02As many were in their homes, either watching TV or, you know, sitting around, it's January, it's cold and not many people are going out.
02:12So there were a lot of witnesses or people who were watching the events unfold.
02:17One told me how they were shocked by it all, by the horrific attack and by something happening so close to home.
02:25Another said it was like watching a movie with all the emergency services piling in and lights going in, blue lights illuminating their whole room.
