00:00C.J. Stroud, what was his grade?
00:03What was his grade for the night?
00:0523 of 49, Clint, 229 yards, one touchdown,
00:10one brutal pick that I just stepped all over
00:13because that's what was going to be played prior to coming back from break
00:17just to get you in the mindset of what we were going to talk about.
00:20QB rating of 59, two rushes for 25 yards.
00:24You spoke of the run game, by the way,
00:25those 25 yards lead the team last night.
00:30Your grade for C.J. Stroud, Clint.
00:33Yeah, look, it's an F.
00:35Oh, really?
00:37I mean, when it boils down to it is the –
00:41we were told that C.J. Stroud wanted
00:45and was going to receive more control at the line of scrimmage,
00:48which was obviously, in a perfect world, going to help the pass protection,
00:52help identifying who's going to go where,
00:55and help with dealing with pressures.
00:56So, maybe not all of it.
01:01Based on what we've been told, lies at the feet of the quarterback.
01:06You know, the decision to retreat and to a point where you damn near got a safety,
01:13the refs had to bail you out.
01:15That can't happen.
01:16There was a point in the game where literally in one drive,
01:20I think it was a 12-point – no, I'm sorry.
01:22It was a two-possession game with 12-plus minutes left in the game,
01:27in the fourth quarter.
01:28And he drops back and throws those four straight go routes.
01:32Oh, yeah.
01:33One of which was on a down that didn't count,
01:35which probably should have been hit that he missed.
01:37But he drops back.
01:38He throws the back shoulder to Nico.
01:39Nico gets hurt.
01:40But, obviously, some kind of illegal formation or pre-snap penalty,
01:45he snaps it anyway and overthrows Higgins.
01:47And he comes back and overthrows Noel.
01:49And then he comes back and overthrows Hutchinson.
01:51So, he spread the ball around.
01:52I mean, he's getting several guys' looks.
01:55But at that point in time, there was an effort approach.
01:58When that game was still – somehow was still in reach.
02:01You had the ball, again, 12-plus minutes down, two scores.
02:05You're still in it.
02:08And for your quarterback to lose his cool, ultimately lose his head
02:12and just start dropping back and slinging the football down the field,
02:15I think CJ is beyond that.
02:17He's got to be, again, he's got to be a guy that steadies the waters
02:20in those moments and fixes things, as you said.
02:24Be a fixer, not a guy that –
02:26Well, we're not that right now.
02:28Well, no, but I mean, I'm just saying be that in an instance
02:32where it's very clear you're still in this game.
02:34I know it's frustrating, but very clearly it's a two-possession game.
02:37We saw teams score 30 for crying out loud.
02:41I mean, you're down two scores with 12-plus minutes left with the ball.
02:45As bad as it is, there's still a chance.
02:47You're one big play away from being right in the thick of this thing.
02:50And so, I thought he lost his cool there.
02:55You know, there's just the stars for this team,
02:59particularly in the first half, but the stars for this team,
03:01Nico Collins, C.J. Stroud, Derrick Stingley Jr.,
03:04they did not play well early on, and it was a major problem.
03:09So, look, I don't think C.J. did anything on Monday Night Football
03:14that puts me in a spot where I give him a positive grade.
03:17I don't – I think he was overwhelmed just like everybody else this offense is.
03:23I think the sitting on the sideline with that long face, that pouty face,
03:27and showing no emotion, I think that's a bad look.
03:31So, yeah, I don't – it is definitely a failing grade, so I'll go with an F.
03:36Toby gives C.J. a C-plus, cornbread an F, Charles a D.
03:42I think C.J. is in the early stages of checking out.
03:47Someone text in C.J. a wet noodle in his grade at F.
03:53I would say – I would still – I'll go with D because he's got an offensive coordinator
04:01who appears to be completely in over his head.
04:05Agreed.
04:05And an offensive line that just didn't have a chance at many, many times.
04:11Ursary just – I mean, he looks like he's right in line with the other ones
04:16they've drafted.
04:20Perception that he threw.
04:23Somehow.
04:24How about the lateral?
04:25There should have been a touchdown.
04:26Yeah.
04:27Somehow, though, Clint, they get this thing to 14-6.
04:31Again, Seattle, pissing me off, attempting to do everything they can to keep them
04:36in the game.
04:36They are just rolling.
04:3814-0.
04:39They're down and they're in scoring territory again, and then they go Cooper Cup pass.
04:43And they get you back in the game.
04:45You kick a field goal.
04:46You block a field goal.
04:47It's 14-6.
04:48You get the ball.
04:49Here we go.
04:51You got a chance.
04:52No reason to be in the game.
04:54And he threw just a god-awful interception.
04:57Yep.
04:57Just awful.
04:59And it was just – my God.
05:01I mean, Sam Darnold had maybe his worst game probably in the last year plus
05:07since the run with the Vikings this year.
05:10This may have been Sam's worst game.
05:13And it was clear who the better quarterback was on the field this night.
05:16Agreed.
05:17That is scary.
05:19Bad Sam Darnold was better than C.J. Straub.
05:24I mean, it was – I mean, Sam's making just terrible decisions all over the place.
05:29Still, it was clear who the better quarterback was.
05:33That – that is – that is concerning if you're the Texans.
05:37I mean – that I'm saying yep, it's male with attachment.
05:41I am not sure who the better or the better.
05:42I had to describe the fight back when it was being serious.
05:44Nope.
05:45I was to and I was just – I was like, no, hey, Sean.
05:48I was interested in getting just a little bit of sadness for me.
05:50I was going to try getting some ΠΊΠΎ bloody card now.
05:52Maybe it will be too late.
05:54But for I only gave you a little bit, but it doesn't matter whether it's not going through my
05:56way.
05:57I find that examples.
05:58So, if I don't know, really was society that was very bad to come, to come.
