00:00Coast Guard good morning. I'm calling from Mossyard Caravan Park in southwest Scotland.
00:21Yeah. We've got a situation we've got someone on the bodyboard has been dragged out to sea in a
00:27really rough weather. We've managed to get onto an outcrop of rocks but he can't make it back to where he is.
00:35Okay. We can't physically get to him. There's no means of way of launching a boat or get a boat in there
00:43because it's far far too rough. Is he suited this time on the rocks? The tide is coming in.
00:50I reckon we've probably got half an hour by five minutes before he gets up there. We're kind of hating that.
00:58So Park is only 45 minutes before the tail start getting to me, so yes?
01:02Yes. There's literally nothing anybody can do currently.
01:06Carnarvon, I've got a wet job for you. Mail washed up on rocks.
01:15Carnarvon, what's his fate? Do you know? He's alive. He appears to be in distress.
01:22Sea state is preventing live boats to get to him.
01:26Thank you, sir. Copy, done.
01:32Cheers, guys.
01:34Of course, we have located the casualty at Dufferin Rocks. We can only see he's left in his arm at the
01:39moment, so you don't know which state the casualty is in. Still got a visual on the casualty, Jamie.
01:46The island's going to be covered in speed.
01:48Rescue 9 36 on the scene.
01:49Head up.
01:55It's the airbrush on the head.
01:57Brief.
01:58We are committed below us now.
02:00Roger. Committed.
02:04He's already getting a walk over.
02:09That's a good idea.
02:12UK Coast Guard.
02:13Do you have any other caries?
02:14It is happening in five ways.
02:16The streets, the main streets, the streets.
02:19The air commission would seem to be coming up on this house.
02:22There's a TV in it.
02:23It's going to be straight down.
02:24Can you stay where you are and you just give me an update of what's happening, okay?
02:26Do you stay where you are?
02:27Do you stay where you are?
02:28Do you stay where you are?
02:29Just give me an update of what's happening, okay?
02:30Do you stay where you are?
02:32Do you stay where you are?
02:33Can you put yourself in a mail from that remote into a mall?
02:34I'm not going to go into shock.
02:35It's going to pressure your ears.
02:36It's an hour or two hours ago that you've left a garden.
02:38and chest pain, aim, aim, aim, just keep breathing.
03:00Hi Chris.
03:01Alan, have you had any further contact with the complainant?
03:06So he's got photos and he's also got screenshots of WhatsApp messages.
03:11Right, okay.
03:13Oh, definitely he's concerned about this, isn't he?
03:25Myself and Cad are in the office and we're going to look at it
03:29and decide what action we're going to take.
03:36So that should be coming through to you now.
03:49Thanks very much. If you need anything else, I'll get back to you.
03:52All right, so.
03:54He's making allegations about crazy working hours
03:58and engineers sleeping on the floor.
04:00Also, something to do with the smoking area at the back.
04:07Let's have a look at some of these photos that he's sent in.
04:11Let's just zoom in and see what we can see.
04:13That's definitely fuel samples.
04:21The flammable stuff.
04:22Flammable flammable.
04:23Down there looks like grease.
04:25That looks like WD-40.
04:27Yeah, WD-40.
04:28Well, we can't have that.
04:30Yes.
04:32What I'm interested in is what this boat is actually doing.
04:35If it's going out to wind farms and carrying people,
04:38then there's certain regulations that apply.
04:41We need to find out just exactly what's going on.
04:43That's it there, isn't it?
04:59Arrive at your destination.
05:01Arrive.
05:09Right, are you ready?
05:13Let's go and say hello.
05:26There's a big dent in the bow.
05:28Those two dents are obvious.
05:34Gangway's not secure.
05:36And there's no gangway net to stop people falling down in between.
05:44So we have a smoking area here.
05:47And the first thing I see in this area is fuel samples.
05:52This is marine gas oil.
05:55We've got other dangerous chemicals here.
05:59Another dangerous spray chemical.
06:02We've got flammables here, here, here.
06:05And it's a designated smoking area.
06:08That's ridiculous.
06:12That's just stupidity.
06:13That's just stupidity.
06:24He's got much oil.
06:25The cars are lying down.
06:26But the waves are too high.
06:28I don't want to get anywhere near it.
06:29He's managed to get himself onto the rocks.
06:30He's absolutely exhausted.
06:31But the tide is coming in.
06:32The tide is coming in.
06:33The tide is coming in.
06:35handsome, ivy,
06:36you've got sugar by flammables here.
06:38But the tide is coming in.
06:41My
07:04He's already getting washed over, so you're on the top of the fourth block.
07:10On the first day, let's say pictures is for brothers to stay on the hood, okay?
07:22Equipment is checked. QAB is checked.
07:24I'm unclear to it.
07:30Off the harness, wait until now.
07:32Oh, he's coming down.
07:38I wish it at night.
07:40Right to the survivor.
07:42Move forward to 20.
07:44Roger, running it.
07:4610.
07:48Stay right.
07:506. Off sight.
07:565.
07:584.
07:593.
08:002.
08:011.
08:02Steady.
08:061.
08:08Steady.
08:10Steady.
08:11On the rocks.
08:12Steady.
08:13Steady.
08:14Back to.
08:15Back to.
08:161.
08:17Steady.
08:191.
08:201.
08:211.
08:232.
08:241.
08:251.
08:261.
08:271.
08:282.
08:291.
08:313.
08:321.
08:33Up five, let's steady, steady, steady, steady, steady, steady, steady, ready for lift, forward one,
08:46next five, steady, reach again, my air on the ground, don't have his feet to move forward,
08:54I'll climb after 50, bye, Chevy, מכ there, to be a new rescue in my ocean, and to the AMI,
09:06stay, at the top,
09:14pilot, pilot, pilot, we, in, in, stop, stop, I believe,
09:23Reach out, reach out, reach out, reach out, stop the gun race crew.
09:33I think we're able to just to look for that, it's nice.
09:35Alright.
09:36The weather around the UK coastline is unpredictable, even in the summer.
09:56I think people can and do underestimate the tide and the speed at which the environment you're in changes.
10:03What is a nice day out can turn into an emergency fairly quickly.
10:08Hello Scott, good afternoon.
10:09Hello.
10:10I've just got some colds and bruises.
10:13I bet you can be tired enough to come back to the caravan park.
10:17You see it from my arm, it's all yours, yeah?
10:19Yes.
10:20Thanks very much. I appreciate it.
10:22I was focused on just trying to stay put and not get washed off.
10:37But I just felt completely powerless.
10:40This is your rock.
10:41This is your rock, yeah.
10:43I could see my wife.
10:51I thought it was going to be the last time I saw her.
10:53Where I was, the waves were right over it.
11:0310, 15 minutes later.
11:07I think that saved my life that day.
11:10It's hard to find some way to express what it means.
11:14I've written to them and thanked them, but that seems so small compared to what they did that day.
11:23I try not to think about what would have happened if they hadn't got me off the rocks.
11:28It doesn't bear thinking about.
11:31It just doesn't bear thinking about.
11:33We've got flammables here, here, here, and it's a designated smoking area.
11:58That's ridiculous.
12:00That's just stupidity.
12:13There's definitely somebody on board.
12:14I've just seen somebody here.
12:18Good afternoon, chaps.
12:21MCA.
12:22We've received some complaints.
12:25Is the captain around anywhere?
12:28Oh, good afternoon, captain.
12:29Good afternoon.
12:30My name is Tony.
12:31We're from the Maritime and Coast Guard Agency.
12:33Hello, captain.
12:34Chris.
12:35Hi.
12:36We've received some complaints about the ship.
12:38We are here to investigate whether there's any substance for those complaints.
12:42And secondly, we don't know what the boat does.
12:45We'd like to understand what the boat does.
12:47All right.
12:48Let's go and have a quick look around the deck.
12:50Life-saving appliances.
12:51So that should light up.
12:52As soon as you turn that upside down, it should light up.
12:55I mean, beggars believe.
12:56What else?
12:57What else have we got?
12:58What else?
12:59What else have we got?
13:00That mooring line is on its last breath.
13:01So that mooring line is dead.
13:02There's some mooring bits down there.
13:03So they're clearly using that.
13:04It's just a radio wire.
13:05Um, Tony?
13:06So the road has no status.
13:07If you're looking at **** people, it's going to have to go check it out.
13:08Ah.
13:09Yeah.
13:10What's that?
13:11So I'm sorry, Vincent.
13:12I know I'm standing up the road.
13:13Good.
13:14Now.
13:15I'm not behind on this.
13:16Good.
13:17I'm gently looking at a couple ofальное stations.
13:19I don't know why I'm not reaching air кру fue trouver here.
13:20Oh,ons for all my ewes in trying to go out and this floor is fine.
13:21I know.
13:22I know you have to go out there, but yes, I don't know.
13:23All right.
13:24Okay.
13:25What about that, how do we have to go out?
13:26Look.
13:27Yeah.
13:28I think he's like, hey, think, hey, hey buddy.
13:29Let's do this.
13:30It's just a radio wire.
13:32Um, Tony?
13:34So the radio aerial comes out of the side there, up to here.
13:39If you look here, the wire seems to be exposed.
13:42Yeah.
13:43Right?
13:44That is very high voltage.
13:47This is where the lookout stands.
13:50If you touch that, that can be fatal.
13:55It's not going very well.
14:00Hello.
14:13Hi.
14:14Dry job up in the lake with a fallen male, 58-year-old male.
14:20The casualties got numbness to lower legs.
14:24Grid reference, November Yankee, 2-0-9-0-9-4.
14:30Yeah.
14:31So, Wasdale MRT has just left station.
14:35However, I believe there's an RTC nearby and they struggle to get through.
14:38So there might be a delay to them getting there.
14:41How far do you fall?
14:43I don't know.
14:44We'll give you a call on airwave shortly.
14:46Left it, guys.
14:48Copy to the right hand.
14:50Copy to the right hand.
14:51Copy to the hover.
14:5270%.
14:53Airspeed live.
14:54Roger.
14:55Retos.
14:56Continued for Charlie.
14:57He's fallen some distance.
15:09He's got numbness in his leg.
15:10Thanks, Charlie.
15:11All right, things clear.
15:12Through to the 6 o'clock.
15:13Ideal, thanks.
15:14And start channel climb.
15:15Rescued 966UK renewed.
15:26No emergency services are with the casualty.
15:29We only have the first informant to contact.
15:39The gist of it for me is the MR can't get to him because of the RTC.
15:43So they want us to go and have a look whether we convey him or not.
15:56My view is, based on his mechanism, we'll be taking him.
15:59We'll go to Carlisle.
16:00I don't know.
16:01You've got more idea about hostiles.
16:03Yeah.
16:04Because it is Wazdale.
16:05We've got a northerly wind.
16:06And Carlisle's all the way at the top of the later street.
16:09Blackpool.
16:10Could we use another airfield?
16:12So we need an ambulance pre.
16:14Yeah.
16:22It's tricky, Nick.
16:23Yeah.
16:24We don't know whether to set the ambulance to Wazdale, set it to Carlisle.
16:27Yeah.
16:28I just don't know, really.
16:29All we want to do is avoid delays.
16:31None of this stuff is obstructing anything safety.
16:44No valves.
16:45You need an emergency.
16:46No?
16:47No.
16:48Okay.
16:49My colleague, where are they?
16:50What are they doing?
16:51They're on the bridge as well.
16:52Yeah.
16:53Okay.
16:54We'll go to the bridge.
16:55We're making allegations about engineers sleeping on the floor.
17:10There's going to be some health and safety issues, defects written.
17:17What I've found is a life buoy with a light that didn't work.
17:23It was inspected in Germany a little while ago, and they have not recorded any of the certificates
17:41on the Port State database.
17:43That means for us that we don't know what the boat does.
18:00So this boat carries 19 people plus the crew.
18:06Okay.
18:07So normally when you're working, how many people do you normally carry?
18:12It depends.
18:13Sometimes 12, sometimes 13, 14, 15.
18:16It depends from the day.
18:17Okay.
18:18So, Chief, what does the boat do?
18:21We have, at the moment, the project with energy clients.
18:24Our job is just to take them on the wind farm, drop them on the turbine.
18:29They make maintenance.
18:30So you take people to the wind farms?
18:32Exactly.
18:33You carry some cargo?
18:34Yes.
18:35I'm getting a clear idea of what this boat is.
18:37This boat is actually a high-speed offshore cargo craft.
18:41That's what it is.
18:42So I need to see the appropriate certificates.
18:45I know what I'm looking for now, the certificates.
18:47Of course.
18:48Do you have any high-speed craft rating certificates?
18:52It would be really better because it's not like my department.
19:05I cannot tell you.
19:06It's not my department.
19:07It's not my department.
19:08It's not my department.
19:09It's not my department.
19:10Right.
19:11Okay.
19:12Captain.
19:13I'm getting a pretty good idea from talking to those chats down there.
19:17that this boat is high-speed craft.
19:18That this boat is high-speed craft.
19:20So it needs to comply with a certain set of rules that we enforce in the UK.
19:24It needs the appropriate certificates.
19:26Can I call my manager?
19:29Absolutely.
19:30He's straight away onto the phone to the owners.
19:33They will inspect the certificates.
19:36So what have we got up on that shelf?
19:39Look at that.
19:40Look at that.
19:41Do you want to have a look through that?
19:44This is not a shorter inspection.
19:46This is most probably coming in two, three hours, four hours.
19:49So let's have a look.
19:59They don't have the right certificates.
20:01The wording that they've put onto the certificates
20:06is as if to imply that it's an offshore support vessel
20:10and not high-speed craft.
20:15I need high-speed craft.
20:21Yeah, that's what he says it is, but it isn't.
20:25If I wanted to drive a big truck and the police stopped me
20:29and I said, it's not a truck, it's a car.
20:31It's not a truck, it's a car.
20:34It's what this company are trying to say about this.
20:47We can't have that.
20:49Um, sir.
20:54Hello, Chris Bates speaking.
20:55You want the TV crew to leave?
20:59Yes.
21:00The end is basically saying,
21:0210-1 is on.
21:04If you wish the camera crew to leave the boat,
21:06they will do that.
21:08I'm going to tell them now, OK?
21:09We're just going to have to stop filming now.
21:11Yeah.
21:12Yeah.
21:20There's a problem with the ship.
21:21They don't want it recorded.
21:23They want to take people out to the wind farms,
21:25but they have to comply with UK rules to do that,
21:28and they're not doing that.
21:29He's fallen some distance.
21:43He's got numbness in his leg.
21:44I don't think Whitehaven's suitable.
21:46Yeah.
21:47Barrow is an option, though.
21:48No.
21:56Yeah.
21:57I take Barrow, then.
21:58The ambulance can meet us and walk the airfield.
22:09Nice to clear the danger here, buddy.
22:10Yeah.
22:11We'll stay up at this altitude,
22:12because the ground will come up to meet us.
22:15Cool.
22:16We should be there in about seven minutes.
22:21Resetment number two,
22:22I think it's about the start.
22:23Soft reset.
22:24Operating in the area of Sarp.
22:43We are trying to contact them, but can't.
22:46There is an F-35 in the area.
22:48They're setting up a TDA.
22:49Special centre.
22:50We have a D-O.
22:51Keep it out.
22:52We have a D-O.
22:55Lift какие-one look.
22:56We have a D-O.
22:57We have a D-O.
22:58We have D-O.
22:59We have a D-O.
23:00We have a D-O.
23:01We have a D-O.
23:02So the latest update is I think there are MR on scene with him now.
23:20He fell 30 feet and sub-assaulted twice.
23:23You got a free secure, clear the door?
23:25Clear the door, buddy.
23:27I think I can see the...
23:29Locked low, you got a guy with his arms up. I'm gonna put a smoke out now.
23:32Okay.
23:33Lots of people on the plans for the network might be an issue.
23:37Lost Hill, I'm RT, Rescue 936.
23:42Go ahead, over.
23:43Rescue 936, if the party that's uphill are looking to go down, then we're happy if they reverse paths.
23:49We can't contact them, so it's good to go ahead, over.
23:53That's fine. No problem.
23:59Go ahead with the highlight, that's all good.
24:06Harness removed, winching out.
24:17That's a nice overhead.
24:21Near the fast range, winching out.
24:24On the ground.
24:27There's a push in the ground now.
24:30Jersey, on the ground.
24:32Nice and safe.
24:33Got an empty hook.
24:34Wishing in.
24:35Oh, it's good.
24:38Working to clear the hook.
24:39Thanks, mate.
24:40Which is when appropriate, Charlie.
24:43Power is coming off.
24:44Harnesses, good down the boat.
24:45We are secure.
24:46Excellent.
24:47Put quick fuel on.
24:48936, 936, mobile radio check.
24:51Are you mad, clear.
24:52Yeah.
24:53Phone clear off, target might be in a second.
24:55Top of K, Jersey is assessing the situation.
25:05Two left, 34, nothing off C-CAS.
25:07Oh, good look down the valley for jets and stuff, guys.
25:23Yeah, roger.
25:24Nothing off C-CAS.
25:25It seems to be a nice sort of hike to go around.
25:28Just to float around.
25:29Yeah, yeah.
25:30Yeah, yeah.
25:33Oh, that's still.
25:35Rapid.
25:36Rapid.
25:37Okay, looking.
25:38Just right.
25:39Two left.
25:40Continue.
25:41Rapid.
25:42Rapid.
25:43Rapid.
25:44Rapid.
25:45Okay, it's wind fast, Jack.
25:46Come down the valley.
25:47Just tuck in, Charlie.
25:48Right.
25:49Tuck in, Charlie.
25:50Tuck in, Charlie.
25:51Tuck in, Charlie.
25:52Tuck in, Charlie.
25:53Tuck in, Charlie.
25:54Tuck in.
25:55What are you doing, gents?
25:56Have we found any certificates referring to high speed craft?
26:02Not.
26:03Not.
26:04High speed.
26:05Not.
26:06Any speed over 16 knots makes this craft high speed.
26:20In here, it says this craft can do 21 knots.
26:24It's high speed.
26:25It's simple.
26:26It's simple.
26:37I received clarification with my boss that gents can come and…
26:41They can come?
26:42Yeah, they can come.
26:43So we're going to issue a prohibition.
26:44Okay.
26:45We've got a company running high speed craft that are not allowed to according to their
27:00document of compliance.
27:01They're not allowed to operate them.
27:02We're going to issue the paperwork.
27:16There will be several things on it.
27:19The first thing is this smoking area.
27:22They're already in the engine room.
27:24Super.
27:25Yeah.
27:26The second thing is we can fix this life boy light.
27:29Yeah, of course.
27:30Yeah, we're done.
27:31It's done.
27:32Yeah, we're done.
27:33The third thing is it should be having a high speed offshore service craft certificate.
27:38And at the moment this is operating with a distinct competitive edge to our UK guys.
27:43And we can't allow that.
27:45However, we won't stop the ship operating.
27:48But the prohibition notice states that it can't operate as a high speed craft.
27:54It's like a legal limit on it.
27:57The maximum speed this ship is allowed to do is 16 knots.
28:01And they can carry 12 industrial personnel, but no more.
28:05The prohibition notice is handcuffs.
28:08You can't break it.
28:11Never.
28:12Never can you break it.
28:13The Coast Guard will be monitoring this ship.
28:16If you do more than 16 knots, we will know.
28:21And if you carry more than 12 people, we will see it.
28:26We will prosecute.
28:28We will detain.
28:29What they can say.
28:30The thing to do is get it surveyed as a high speed offshore craft.
28:34It's the company fault for putting you in this position.
28:38I would suggest very strongly, please, get somebody in to limit the engines so that it's impossible to do more than 16 knots.
28:48Don't be tempted.
28:49It's your career.
28:52I came to this country to pay my intacts and to follow the English law.
29:00And I also, this is the reason that I came here.
29:03If you find yourself with an issue, please call.
29:07We'll sort it out.
29:08We'll deal with it.
29:09Yeah.
29:10Yeah.
29:11We're on your side.
29:12Okay.
29:13Thanks, gents.
29:14Right, guys.
29:15Thanks very much.
29:16At the end of the day, the only thing I'm interested in is, is the ship safe?
29:27Right.
29:28I see ship's crews as I see my own family.
29:34If a member of my family was working on that ship, I'd have the same feelings to them as I would to have the rest of the crew.
29:41We're protecting those people on board.
29:43There is an F-35 in the area.
30:00Traffic.
30:01Okay, looking.
30:02Somewhere down there in the one o'clock, isn't it?
30:03Yeah.
30:04F-38 in, Sukkot, Bismarck and H-60 in, U-40 Rum, D-60 Arabs, wherever they are.
30:20We can see bouts in this airport, next sixtyzel SRD cabaret.
30:22Terrific, traffic.
30:23Okay, looking.
30:24Somewhere down there in the one o'clock, isn't it?
30:25Yeah.
30:26Ford cross jet can have done the money.
30:28Up anybody took me in?
30:29Yeah.
30:30Free debris.
30:32Two F-35s were well clear.
30:37Visual.
30:38Thanks, mate.
30:39Wow, that was a good spot.
30:41Did you see F-35s were going to be around?
30:43Yeah, they did.
30:44Still expected to be, like, right where we are.
30:46Right where the...
30:47Yeah.
30:489-2-6, 9-2-6 mobile.
30:50That's two.
30:51Can't see more.
30:52Yeah, go ahead.
30:53Take it, you just saw the jet.
30:55Yeah, picked up a T-Cast.
30:57Sticking up visual with the jet, it's official.
30:59No worries, Farrow is the plan, and I'll tell you once we're ready.
31:03Got the...
31:04Yeah, I've got the people, I think.
31:05The red jacket, yeah.
31:07Okay, Jersey, is that you're ready?
31:10Okay, reaching out.
31:11Empty hook, just a high line attached, depressively, Jersey.
31:14Forward one.
31:16Jersey's got the hook.
31:18Clear of the ground, bringing them all the way.
31:20Stopped up for Jersey, just happy.
31:21Just coming up underneath the aircraft now.
31:23Okay, the high line removed.
31:29That's a high line gone, he's coming up inside the aircraft, then hoist.
31:32Hoist the pilot, pilot.
31:36Witch in, in.
31:38Witch in.
31:39Continue.
31:40Continue.
31:41Continue.
31:42And stop, stop.
31:44Hoist the pilot.
31:47Pilot.
31:48Witch out.
31:49Out.
31:50Continue.
31:51Continue.
31:52Continue.
31:53Continue.
31:54And stop.
31:55We're stopping with the crew.
31:56Okay, we're safely in the cabin.
31:57It's working to clear the hook.
32:03Excel for 34.
32:04Don't rock.
32:08You always want the best for people.
32:10No matter how they found themselves in that situation,
32:12you always, always hope for the best.
32:20Yes.
32:21No, we'll lift him.
32:22Then bring the trolley.
32:23You can get them to hospital, and then they get the best care they can, as quickly as possible,
32:33and I guess life will just decide the outcome.
32:38Let's go to the rescue.
32:39Yes, hello.
32:40Um, somebody's asked us to call you because she's stuck in the mud.
32:53She's literally up to her hips, isn't it?
32:54We're currently standing in front of the very last fort that's away from the pier.
32:56We're currently standing in front of the very last fort that's away from the pier.
32:57Okay, let's go to the rescue.
32:59Go to the rescue.
33:00Yes, hello.
33:01Um, somebody's asked us to call you because she's stuck in the mud.
33:05She's literally up to her hips, isn't it?
33:07So, we're currently standing in front of the very last fort that's away from the pier.
33:23We've got your position.
33:31She's hit a child and a dog, and now two other adults have come over.
33:36One of them was going to go in to try and...
33:37No, tell them not to...
33:39Yeah, she's absolutely stuck.
33:48If you tell her not to panic, just stay there.
33:51We're going to get the Coast Guard team down to her to get her out.
33:53You've got to stay calm, and nobody has to try and help you until they come.
34:07Humber Coast Guard, Humber Coast Guard, three thoughts of our body I want.
34:11That's on route to Humber's fitters for the mud job.
34:21Humber Coast Guard, three thoughts of our body I want.
34:29Can we get a sip rip of the means of extraction over?
34:40I think the refs on this bit because you're going to sink.
34:43Humber Coast Guard, this is Clayport Perfect.
34:45The casualty is located near the concrete one.
34:51Cleve for Ops, Oscar. That's our receiver on the beach now.
34:58Guys, come and start getting the Ops gear out, please, and get the text rest.
35:08I think they'll be able to go up there and around here
35:12and see the water coming in behind them now.
35:15I think they'll be able to go up there.
35:23Okay.
35:24Al, can you just control what's coming on down here while going to the casualty?
35:32How are we doing? You all right? How old is she?
35:3426.
35:35Right, how long has she been in the mud?
35:37About half an hour.
35:38Has she? Okay.
35:40You all right? We won't be long. We're just getting the team ready
35:43and we'll be out there to get you out, all right?
35:46Okay.
35:47You all right? You all right?
35:48You all right?
35:49Okay? You okay?
35:50You all right?
35:51I'm not going to go.
35:52Okay. Okay.
35:53I'm a Coast Guard. I'm a Coast Guard. I'm a Coast Guard.
35:57Cleve Haupt, Oscar over.
35:58Cleve Haupt, Oscar.
35:59Go ahead.
36:00Just been talking to the casualty, as Priya reported, she's complained of pains in her legs.
36:05reported she's complained of pains in her legs just spoken to her again she's
36:10saying it feels numb and she's got pins and needles can I have an ambulance to
36:17check her out when she comes out
36:35so we're almost opposite her yeah and then we cover her straight out to the ramp yeah yeah you happy
36:48with that yeah there you go let's get her out she's been in there 30 minutes already
37:05on the coast guard on the coast guard cleave hopes Oscar over on the coast guard cleave hopes Oscar
37:22that's to one text deployed okay I'm gonna pull this stretch around the back of you
37:27I'm gonna go around the side don't panic
37:57yeah don't try and strain it and I'll start digging this one don't try and strain anything
38:13if you can pop the other leg straight just count it just don't try and strain it here it comes nice
38:38and gently nice and gently nice and gently there you go just sit still for a minute sit still for
38:45a minute well done well done just just sit there for a second so let's just sit there get a bit of
38:52circulation going we're gonna rig up for a winch extraction
39:08so when she comes in she's complaining of pain in her right leg numbness and pins and needles
39:15been here for about 30 minutes plus now so when she gets in keep her sat down laid down okay
39:24take the slack yes please
39:29that's easier walking for me now
39:38so pins and needles are starting to ease are you 100% sure you don't want the ambulance because I've got an
39:48ambulance on roots you can be walking along as we've done on our training quite quite often walk along the
39:56beach and everything's fine and then you put one foot forward and you can sink up to your knee we know
40:02that that's going to happen to us but if it's a member of the public who doesn't know about that
40:06this could be quite quite dangerous on the fittest beach there is quite a dense amount of thick mud so
40:13if we've got tide coming in it can be catastrophic for people if they're out there a long time we can
40:20end up suffering from hypothermia and worst case scenario tide coming in you could end up with a fatality
40:26has it been explained to you about hydrostatic squeeze
40:30there have been times where if we haven't intervened um over the years then people would
40:51have died there's there's no two ways about that
40:53yeah home of coast guard clear folks Oscar that's all received
41:05survey inspection are interested in it we've just been asked to monitor its speed
41:17what the D-000s
41:19and the younger mid-century
41:20if we know what was that
41:26we have a mamma
41:26there's no one way to turn into that
41:28we are just enjoying this
41:30we want to talk about things
41:31it's time to take an example from the reader
41:32for the reader
41:33in response to the reader
41:35especially if we can identify with people
41:36that have to feel like
41:38the reader
41:39and we can connect together
41:40and we can get together
41:41in order for the reader
41:42and we can connect with people
41:43though
41:47I've had cutchering bruises and torn ankle ligaments, grade three.
42:11Nothing's broken, unbelievable.
42:13Here's the last four that I took.
42:16Three minutes later, I would say I fell.
42:19My right leg gave way, and my momentum threw me out over the edge.
42:26And I went down head first, and I just thought, this is it.
42:32This is it.
42:34I fell about 20 feet.
42:36I catapulted in the air.
42:39And then miraculously, I come down again, flat on my back.
42:43I catapulted a third time, but this time when I hit the ground, I started sliding down the hill.
42:50And I'd just come to a stop, and it was just really quiet.
42:55And I just sat up, and I just said to myself, I can't believe I'm alive.
43:02Someone was looking after me that day, without a shadow of a doubt.
43:06Who was looking after you?
43:07I think me dad.
43:09He passed away 2011, and he always got me into walking.
43:16And it was him who brought me the backpack, which was there.
43:19And it was that backpack that saved my life.
43:23I landed, every time I fell, I landed squarely on that backpack.
43:28And my head never hit a rock once, which is incredible itself.
43:34When I come to a stop, and everything was quiet, it was the best feeling in the world.
43:39I wish I could bottle it, it was brilliant.
43:41I realised, I'm going to see my wife, and I'm going to see my daughter, and I'm going to see my family again.
43:47We've got a lady on the beach, who has wrenched her back.
43:59Keep breathing, keep breathing, breathe, breathe.
44:01We're going to have to move swiftly, because the tide is going out now, and conditions are going to change for us.
44:05You can see there's water in it.
44:07Obviously, it's fairly high profile.
44:09But if they're not ready, they're not ready.
44:11Given the weather, the OTA is hard to determine.
44:14Out of D-cabs, shoved into the water, and now we're in the process of witching.
44:18We're moving close to this, we're going to be.
44:22Do it at me? Do it at me?
44:24Do it at me?
44:44Do it again.
44:46I'm going to be.
44:50If you're looking for Shadow Elsa, to bear by.
44:54Freedom, go by.
