00:04because of where Clemson was, was that matchup in Death Valley.
00:08It was a rematch of the ACC championship game.
00:11SMU entered that ballgame.
00:13It opened as Clemson a 9.5, 10.5 point home favorite.
00:18But then the injury to Cade Klubnick knocked this line down all the way to pre-kick
00:22right around 3.5 points in favor of the Clemson Tigers.
00:26We talk about the dominance at home by Dabo Sweeney.
00:30Three home losses entering 2024 from 2015.
00:35That was a span of only nine years.
00:38The Clemson Tigers had only lost three home games.
00:42They lost two home games last year.
00:44You flash forward now to this year.
00:47They have lost now three home games.
00:49They lose outright yet again with a backup quarterback, Chris Vizina.
00:54The defense couldn't contain Kevin Jennings and the offense.
00:57They came out flat yet again.
00:59They lose it outright, 35-24.
01:03What is going on in Death Valley?
01:05Well, it's not just the quarterback.
01:07I did say if he couldn't play, I would definitely go because of Kevin Jennings and SMU.
01:12SMU is undefeated in the ACC.
01:14They've had two tough losses, but they're undefeated in the conference.
01:17And Kevin Jennings, one of the top quarterbacks.
01:19And so without Klubnik, I just did not think they were good enough to beat SMU.
01:26But there are a lot of teams in the country right now, and you see it and I see it.
01:29They put a freshman quarterback in or a backup quarterback, and they still win.
01:33You can't look at that as being the reason.
01:35That's why Clemson has got to do the best they can, make the most out of this season,
01:40and chalk this up as a nasty lesson to learn of what you've got to do to get back to where you were
01:45because they are not going to be where they are.
01:47That's why they're not winning football games.
01:49And they've just got to get back and fight for wins and get their wins
01:52because this year's got to be a learning experience
01:54because it's not going to be a game where they get back to where they have a chance
01:58to get in the conference championship and the playoffs and all of those things.
02:02They have now four outright losses this year.
02:05They have three of those losses at home.
02:08Eight losses now dating back to 2015 in Death Valley.
