00:00This is where we're staying tonight.

00:02We're staying in the middle of the Wadirum Desert.

00:05We spent the day exploring and did a jeep tour.

00:07Tonight we're staying in this bubble hotel.

00:09We're going to do some stargazing and just enjoy the evening.

00:12And then we're going to ride camels with the sunrise.

00:15So it should be a fun 24 hours.

00:18And that's our bubble right there.

00:20Got it. It's so cute.

00:30I had my headscarf tied like I thought it was a good way.

00:49I watched some YouTube videos, you know.

00:51And then the guy in the lobby redid it for me.

00:53So apparently it wasn't good enough, but I'm working on it.

00:56It looks pretty sharp.

00:57We are headed to Wadirum, a protected area covering 720 square kilometers of desert in the south of Jordan.

01:05Some famous movies such as Star Wars, Aladdin, and The Martian have been filmed here due to its stunning landscape.

01:11And, well, it kind of looks like Mars.

01:15Campsites like the one we're staying at tonight have made the region an even more popular tourist destination.

01:21We just got to the visitor center at Wadirum.

01:24We drove about an hour and a half from our hotel near Petra in Wadirumusa.

01:30We are now trying to figure out where we park at the visitor center.

01:33And then we have to call a local number for our camp.

01:38And they will come and pick us up and Jeep us out to the campsite.

01:42We're sitting in the back of the truck.

01:45Headed into the desert.

01:46We're starting the jeep tour.

02:06It's called Lawrence Spring.

02:07I'm assuming it's the same Lawrence from Lawrence of Arabia.

02:11He was a poet, a scholar, and a mighty warrior.

02:16He was also the most shameless exhibitionist since Barnum and Bailey.

02:20Here on top of the mountain, there's a spring.

02:22And they get water and run it down as well down here.

02:26And they get water for the campers and stuff.

02:32We're headed to a sand dune to climb.

04:27The check-in process was so nice.

04:31And here is our full bathroom in a bubble in the desert.

04:36I mean, what more could you ask for?

04:40Cannot get over how much this place really looks and feels like another planet.

04:46The dirt is so red.

04:49We're in these domes that are crazy, and they have the insulation on the outside.

04:52It looks exactly like what I envision a colony on Mars would look like.

04:57We're going to drink these espressos that we made here in the room.

05:01Dinner is at 6.

05:03I'm really excited.

05:04They have, like, a big bubble where they do all of the food.

05:07And then afterwards, there's, like, a shisha lounge hangout spot.

05:13Sorry, my legs are starting to hurt.

05:21But this time, there's actually an entire desert in my shoe.

05:28I'm hungry.

05:33We skipped lunch today, so we'll probably be the first ones there.

05:38It opened at 6, I think, 6 to 9, and it is probably about 5.55, so we're going to be staring

05:44in the window until they open.

05:45Let's go eat.

05:46Yeah, it looks like there's some people in there.

05:48Everyone else is hungry, too.

06:00I don't think so.

06:02Just going to see if we can get some tea.

06:28Overall, you know, I'd say the food was really good considering we're in the middle of the

06:32desert.

06:32After dinner, we went up just a little bit higher on the canyon wall to a cafe.

06:39And they do hookah.

06:40Garrett and I aren't super into hookah.

06:43I have asthma, which is, you know, nobody wants a coughing girl, especially in these times.

06:48So we just stuck to juices, got some lemon mint juice, enjoyed that.

06:54Um, the ambiance is super cool.

06:57It's like right up against the cliff.

06:58So half the roof is canyon wall and it's all like backlit.

07:03We left kind of abruptly, um, at 830 because there was supposed to be stargazing, but unfortunately

07:11it was too cloudy.

07:13But on the bright side, I did, we did book a sunrise camel ride.

07:18So we're supposed to meet our guide around 540 in the morning, I think.

07:22So we do need to get some sleep for that.
