00:07We're headed on a six-week adventure to India, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam.
00:11This is the start of our trip and today we are so excited for this 24-hour stop in Qatar.
00:16The adventure starts at the airport because we are also crossing Qatar Airways business class off our bucket list today.
00:22Let's go.
00:23I'm really excited for this flight.
00:25We have six and a half hours on the flight from Barcelona to Doha.
00:28And it's during the day and we actually need to stay awake on this flight.
00:31So we are just going to enjoy everything that this business class has to offer.
00:35Me and the flight ascendants are going to be doing the best.
00:38I'm going to be ordering all the food. I'm going to have a good time.
00:41So I'm ready.
00:44First impressions, what do you think?
00:46Very nice. It's got a place for Los Angeles.

00:51Living the dream for six hours and 30 minutes.
00:54There's so many options. It's a little of a lot.
01:04So the cool thing is you can order like anything you want at any time.
01:08All you gotta do is ask.
01:09So between Lauren and I we probably sampled like half the menu.
01:12My favorite was the raspberries and honey smoothie.
01:15And then as my meal, I got this lamb shake at 39,000 feet.
01:21Lauren got the chicken and meze platter.
01:23But she keeps trusting with food.
01:24And I'm like, get your own.
01:25And she had her own.
01:26So I'm the one she's trying to steal it.

01:36We just got some money.
01:38I don't think we'll need it most places to take credit card here,
01:40but I like to collect it.
01:41So I got some anyway.
01:42We're going to go take the metro into town.
01:45Find our hotel.
01:46Then maybe go walk around to Sue.
01:47So we're excited to be here.
01:49We got a day pass for six Kuitari Rios.
01:53We're going to take it from the airport to our area where our hotel is.
01:5820 minute ride.
02:03We are headed to the Suquakif and it's very convenient because the metro is right outside of our hotel.
02:07I can't get over how nice the subway stations are here in Qatar.
02:10I mean they're like beautiful and they're clean and they're huge and they go everywhere.
02:14It's nice.
02:16Alright, first impressions are good.
02:19We made it to Suquakif, we're going to get some updates.
02:22It's my favorite.
02:28We just got some delicious Syrian food.
02:30That full spread cost about 35 US dollars.
02:33We had two appetizers, massive plate of like minced lamb kvaps.
02:38Ooh, it just like melted in my mouth.
02:40And then Lauren got a tea and I got like an avocado strawberry juice kind of situation.
02:44It was very good.
02:46We are full but not too full so we're going to keep walking around and look for some sweets.
02:52I think Garrett's just a little upset because these 15 year olds have better facial hair than him out here.
02:56I would have had an epic beard right now but Lauren made me shave it.
03:00It was getting kind of big, long.
03:02I feel like it would have fit in a little bit better but now I got this baby face.
03:05This place is absolutely alive at night.
03:10It's like 930 but it is packed.
03:12The weather is so nice.
03:14It's cool.
03:15Mental note that February is a great time to visit Qatar.
03:19But we're going to keep walking around because I really want something sweet.
03:23Alright, we just went and got some sweets.
03:29We're really excited to try them.
03:30I just wanted like an assorted bakbaba plate but they gave me what they're known for which is bunapa.
03:35We actually have this here in Istanbul.
03:37But I'm really excited to try it again.
03:39This is a huge spoonful but you can see it's like a fried cheese.
03:42It's got crispy on the top and it looks delicious.
03:44It's like a sweet cheese, like a cheese, almost like honey.
03:50And then it has these crispies on top.
03:53It's so warm, it's salty but also so sweet and it's fantastic.
04:00This is my plate of sweets.
04:02In all honesty, I really just wanted one bakbaba.
04:04The least amount that you could order was seven pieces so I ended up with seven.
04:08So definitely going to try my bakbaba.
04:10I honestly don't know what the rest of these are.
04:12I've got some pistachio here.
04:14I think this one's got some walnuts in it.
04:15This one looks like it kind of has the same thing on top of it as the canopas.
04:18So really excited to try these.
04:21Probably going to eat a couple and then give the rest to the hotel staff because I don't know what we're going to do with these.

04:27First bakbaba in a very long time.
04:32When you bite into it, you can literally feel all of the sugar juices coming out of those crispy layers but it still has that crunch to it.
04:41It's so good.
04:42Everything I dreamed it would be.
04:43Alright, we're going to head back to the hotel and get some sleep.
04:51We are in the downtown district.
04:52We just found this amazing coffee shop that serves premium dates so we're going to go check it out.
04:57Alright, I got this date plate that came with three assorted dates and a date iced latte.
05:09That is so good.
05:10It's not too sweet.
05:11I was really worried it was going to be too sweet but it's perfect and Garrett got an Arabic coffee.
05:17I'm excited.
05:22Dates filled with nuts.
05:23I love dates.
05:24I eat them every day.
05:27Big bacon in his happy place.
05:30We just finished up in there and honestly it was so good.
05:32We wish we skipped the free breakfast at our hotel and just ate there.
05:35All of the food in there looked incredible.
05:37I saw these like big fluffy pancakes online.
05:39I was like there's no way they look like that in person.
05:41People next to us are eating them and they definitely look like that in person and they looked so good.
05:46They also have all these incredible sets of like coffee to share.
05:50For two people it didn't really make sense but they have some really gorgeous like tea sets and everything with different snacks.
05:56So really good.
05:57We're going to go grab some lunch.
05:59I'm going to go get some meat, some kebabs and then check out the Islamic Museum of Art.
06:05So we're going to keep walking through the Mishrap downtown area headed towards the Museum of Art through the Souq and we'll see what we find along the way.
06:18Even the scooters are lined up nicely in Qatar.
06:20Everything is just clean and orderly.
06:27We're at a Turkish restaurant and I got a tikka shish kebab.
06:30So it's lamb cubes and I got some rice with it and it is very delicious and the lamb meat is super tender and it just melts in your mouth.
06:38I got an adana kebab.
06:50We just had a beautiful walk from the Souq Waqif over to the Museum of Islamic Art.
06:54We're going to look around but outside right now the building is stunning and you get a beautiful skyline view of Qatar.
07:01Let's go.
07:05So the exhibits in there are not what I guess you normally would think of when you think of an art museum.
07:10It's not a whole lot of paintings.
07:11It's a lot of beautiful carpet work, silks, dishes, pots, a lot of tile and ceramic work and the exhibits were just so well put together and it really showcased like all different parts of the world.
07:23Pro tip if you come outside you can get a beautiful view of the skyline of Qatar.
07:27We only gave ourselves about an hour of time which we think was probably not enough because we're kind of in a rush.
07:32We got to go to the airport but I'd carve out about two hours and just enjoy all of the artwork and all the scenery of beautiful Qatar.
07:38We are headed to India next so we have to go catch a flight.
07:42We have an overnight flight to India so we'll see how that's going to go.
07:45But we're sad to be leaving Doha so soon.
07:47This is a really great city and we hope to be back one day.
