Transcript
00:00Mind Control Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, delighted to be here today.
00:04We're at Deepdale, Preston North End Stadium, to have a tabletop event
00:10bringing partners together from across Lancashire, particularly
00:14Lancashire Constabulary, the Lancashire Partnership Against Crime, PLASP which is the Pan-Lancashire
00:21Anti-Slavery Partnership, and ourselves with a whole range of other partners from the local
00:28authorities in the voluntary sector to see how we together can bring the experience, the expertise
00:37and the enthusiasm to tackle modern slavery in Lancashire. Modern slavery is something that
00:46happens in plain sight, it devastates people's lives, it is people that are being trafficked,
00:52that are being exploited, that have been put in situations working for little and no money in
00:58horrendous conditions and this is about how we can ensure that Lancashire is safe for everybody,
01:08how we can support the victims, how we can tackle the perpetrators and get the convictions. Modern
01:17slavery has no place in society and it has no place in Lancashire, so delighted to have so many people
01:25here today to show Lancashire's commitments to getting rid of modern slavery in Lancashire.
