00:00So I was telling you, uh, I had this column from Omar Kelly, just a couple of things.
00:07This is the, the headline is lose to chargers.
00:10Dolphins should trade players for picks.
00:12Okay.
00:13This is part of what Omar wrote.
00:15It's a very long column.
00:16You can read it in the Miami Herald.
00:17This is just a little, a little snippet.
00:19We're approaching the point of no return.
00:22The Miami Dolphins can either push all their chips in the center of the table this month,
00:26or we begin the process of tearing this poorly built roster down and sell it off piece by
00:32piece, either beat the injury depleted chargers who are starting backups at both tackle spots
00:39and a third string tailback after making a cross continent trip to play the Dolphins at
00:45hard rock stadium Sunday, or begin the NFL auction of talent, keep losing and everything of value
00:53must go by the November 4th trade deadline.
00:57And then he writes teams in need of pass rushing help can pick up Jalen Phillips, who's playing
01:03in his fifth year option set to become a free agent next off season, Bradley Chubb, who has
01:0814 tackles and four sacks in what will likely be his final season in Miami since he's due
01:14$19.2 million in 2026 and 2024 first round pick chop Robinson, whom we've discovered is a
01:22limited pass rush only player need a thousand yard receiver. Jalen Waddle could probably be had for
01:30a second round pick since his $19.2 million a year price tag drives his value down. Devon
01:36HN, who has accounted for 435 all purpose yards and scored four touchdowns is going to be pushing for
01:43a lucrative contract extension at season's end. Maybe the Dolphins get something for HN now while his
01:50value will never be higher. Let's be honest, Omar writes and acknowledge that Minka Fitzpatrick
01:56has been acting like a hostage. The former Pro Bowl safety ran from his franchise's troublesome
02:02culture in 2019, only to return five seasons later. And wouldn't you know, very little has changed.
02:09And Omar goes on and writes a long calm and then he ends it with so lose on Sunday and it's time
02:15for him to get to work breaking apart this team to talk about Chris Greer or draft picks or blocks who
02:24have more upside than what this roster presently possesses. I'm with you. I didn't like Bradley
02:32Chubb when they brought him in. He was old and they gave him another 200 million. I wasn't a fan of
02:36that. I'm okay with all of them. Waddle kind of made me look back and forth a little bit.
02:42You do not get rid of Devon HN. He like Devon has a bit like Marshall Falk ability. You just can't.
02:49I know it's a reset. He creates offense. He creates offense. He's he is. He's his own offense in
02:55itself. Like you, we want to start a new offense. The new guy that comes in, whoever he is, coach X,
03:03every single offensive coordinator, offensive mind in the world could use a Devon HN. He's the kind
03:10of guy you base your offense around. The only, I'd only guy would take off the books for trade is
03:14Devon HN. Waddle can go. Waddle can go. Man, Crowder, I disagree with you. I think everybody
03:24could go genuinely other than the guys who just drafted, who it doesn't make much sense to move
03:30on from them because they're so cheap. Devon HN is going to get paid. And if you're really in a
03:38situation, I love Devon HN. I agree with you. I'm not saying you're wrong, but if you're really in a
03:43situation where you're going into a full rebuild again, or a full reset again, whatever you want
03:49to call it, you're going to pay a running back ridiculous amount of money when you have so many
03:56other holes. I mean, we're talking about Crowder. Think about the amount of holes you have to fill
04:00offensive line, defensive line, your entire secondary, likely your linebackers. I mean,
04:08you're getting rid of the entire defense in this scenario. You're going to pay a running back,
04:13but guys, this is why I think the biggest mistake Steven Ross has made was keeping Chris Greer one more
04:21season. This move should have been, and I know, I know we hate doing this. It's easy to have this
04:27take now, but man, I called it last year because now the person who's in charge of moving these
04:36assets or moving these guys for incoming assets, isn't the person who you expect to be using said
04:44draft capital and flexibility with cap space next off season. That's a bad place to be the guy who
04:54decimated your roster and put you in this position is who you trust to offload these guys. If he didn't
05:01know what they were truly valued at when he drafted, traded, or paid them, how can you trust him to know
05:07what their real value is on the trade market? Now it's a bad situation to be in.
05:12I, I totally agree. And that's what I was saying. Get rid of Chris Greer.
05:16If you fire him today, who was making the decisions then?
05:20I don't know, but I'd rather, I'd, I'd rather Steven Ross find somebody else because clearly
05:24Chris Greer wasn't the right guy. And I know Chris Perkins told us yesterday, Hey, it's very rare
05:30that a general manager goes in the middle of the season. And I understand that I'm not trying to
05:34get drastic here, but I do kind of think, bro, year seven of Greer and you're in this situation.
05:43Like what, why would you allow him to make these decisions? I don't get it.
05:46I would, I would say this. I understand exactly what you're saying. And you're right. If you're
05:51going to sell off the pieces, then why would you have the guy who brought in those pieces and,
05:59and hasn't been able to make it work and won't be here really for the new pieces? Why would you let
06:05him be in charge? Maybe you bring in an outside consultant, Bill Belichick. Maybe you bring in
06:12an outside consultant and you say, if you're Steven Ross, you say to Chris Greer, you do not make a
06:17single personnel move without it first being approved by so-and-so. Or maybe you do bring in
06:26an interim general manager who has no desire to be a long-term general manager because you want to do
06:32a hiring process. But I'm, I'm with Solana on that. You can't allow, if you, I mean, listen,
06:39if they're going to sell off the team piece by piece, you know, Chris Greer is not going to be
06:43here for the rebuild. He's had his attempts to do so. You can't let him be in charge of what you're
06:50getting or some valuable pieces. Devon HM is a valuable piece. So I don't know what the answer
06:58is. The answer is if you're going to follow Omar's take there, which is, Hey, if you can't win Sunday,
07:06everyone must go. I don't know who does it, but I'm kind of with Solana. I don't think it can be
07:13Chris Greer. And I'm with you on that too. You're going to fix your mistakes. You're going to find
07:20a way to figure out how to move the pieces that you brought in that aren't as valuable. And one
07:24thing, Solana, I got a point, but what is Kenneth Grant going to get right now? Even if his salary
07:30was low, I just look, I could, I could be wrong. I could be wrong as hell. I'm not the guy that's
07:35going to punt on a guy five games into a season. I'm just not, I'm not telling you Kenneth Grant was a
07:39great pick. Clearly so far he hasn't been, but the guy's making, he's on a rookie deal for the
07:44next couple of years. Same as Jonah Savat-Yunaya, at least, you know, run the gamut with them,
07:49give them another season because you're going to, next year's another, another, you know,
07:54find out who we have season anyways. And, and two, I think, I think the narrative,
07:59because you said, you know, how do you, how do you pay Devon HM, you know, that much money
08:03and rebuild the top? This is what ESPN's top, the power rankings for the week.
08:09Detroit Lions, number one, Montgomery and Gibbs, Buffalo, number two, James Cook,
08:16Philadelphia, number three, Saquon Barkley, Tampa Bay, number four, Bucky Irving and Rashad White,
08:23Indianapolis Colts, number five, Jonathan Taylor. This is like, you got to be able to run that ball.
08:28Number six is Green Bay with Jacob, Jonathan Jacobs. You have to have a good running back. Like
08:34every team that has a good offense and has a chance has a back. And I really believe Devon HM can
08:39be a back on a, I think Devon HM can go to any of those six teams and them offers don't miss a beat.
08:45But if you keep them around and give them a big contract, like Omar is suggesting he's going to
08:52want, and then you're going to ride out the season with Quinn Ewers, or you're going to trade for Joe
08:58Flacco, or you're going to elevate Zach Wilson. Like, what are you doing?
09:05Go get them, Devon.
09:06You know, you know what I was thinking? Um, next season, I think two is the quarterback because I
09:15just think you kind of have to have them here, but I wouldn't be opposed next season. The Dolphins
09:21go out. If they don't draft a quarterback or if they do draft a quarterback, doesn't matter.
09:26Go out and get yourself an Anthony Richardson, get yourself a young guy who hasn't worked elsewhere
09:33and, and bring them in, have a legitimate QB competition. Maybe not him. I'm just saying a
09:41guy like that have a legitimate QB competition. And because look at the giants, the giants drafted
09:46their quarterback early on. They had their veteran and then they went and they got another backup
09:51quarterback. Somebody who's had success in the past, but isn't necessarily still in the prime of
09:56their career. They had a QB competition. Russ won it. And then the second Russ was ass. They're like,
10:02we're going to the rookie. And here we are. They're beating the defending champs on Thursday night
10:08football. And Jackson dart looks unbelievable. Right. But a two, it looked unbelievable as well.
10:14When he actually got a chance to lead the team. I'm not talking about the couple of Brian Flores
10:19seasons. I'm talking about when McDaniel got here. I mean, I'd be, I'd, I'd slow our role on Jackson
10:24dart a little bit because he's looked good for two out of three games. Oh yeah. Listen,
10:32that are smartest defensive minds in the world are watching every snap he's taken over the last two
10:36weeks. If he continues to play like this, Solana, he's going to the pro bowl this year. Rookie pro
10:42bowl. I don't think that's going to happen. You would agree. He has all the tools though,
10:45to be successful. Oh yes. Yeah. Yeah. Arm, big arm, can run, can run, can take hits. A baby has
10:53swagger, like a baby Josh Allen. He really looks like a smaller frame Josh Allen. That's what he
10:58looks like. Giants are in a better position than the dolphins. I didn't think I'd be saying that
11:04at the start of the season, but they look to be in a much better. Yeah, they are. They're in a
11:10better position than the dolphins. They've got Jackson dart and they've got a cam Scadaboo and they've got
11:15Malik neighbors when he's healthy. Yeah. Day ball had to get him a quarterback. I don't know why
11:22day ball was on the bigger hot seat than McDaniel coming into the season. And I think he found
11:28himself a cooler seat because of Jackson dart. Goodness gracious. So now the giants have surpassed
11:37us. It's what I just succumbed from that. We've got the jets though, but we've got the jets.
11:42Okay.
