00:00Nobody knew where he was.
00:06Robert basically fell off the face of the earth.
00:08We knew something was wrong right away.
00:10I don't know where he's at.
00:11Did your brother tell you what to say to police?
00:13No.
00:14You gotta tell us the rest of the story.
00:16They were in the kitchen.
00:17They were fighting.
00:18He said he f***ed.
00:19Hit him with a fine pen.
00:20They just were fighting?
00:21Yeah.
00:22Okay.
00:23What did he do with them?
00:24Because obviously you've been missing...
00:26Don't sit and tell us.
00:27I have no idea.
00:28Don't sit and tell us that you didn't say to him.
00:30What did you do with him after that?
00:32He's your brother.
00:33Kenneth, I'm scared of my brother.
00:35He's a little f***ed nuts.
00:36So just finish up the story and tell him the truth.
00:39Enough is enough.
00:40My brother Robert and I religiously spoke every week.
00:59There was instances where every day we would reach out to each other.
01:02But early December of 08, I stopped hearing from him.
01:07We knew something was wrong right away.
01:08There was no question.
01:10I kept calling and calling and I got no answer.
01:13I said he would have got back to me by now.
01:16We were trying to find him everywhere, like any other family would do in panic mode, especially
01:20being thousands of miles away.
01:22But nobody knew where he was.
01:24He basically fell off the face of the earth.
01:27My sister, more than myself, started calling his roommate at the time, Daniel Alexander, and
01:32saying, hey, he was living with you.
01:34Where is he?
01:34What's going on?
01:35He said, yes, he was here, but he's not anymore.
01:40I said, well, I know that, but I'm trying to find him.
01:44And he kept saying, no, no, I don't really know nothing really.
01:48And that was it.
01:49And at that point, it just started snowballing into this bigger, Rob's missing, Rob's missing.
01:55We waited about five days, and we called the police, put the missing persons report in,
02:00and we got the case going.
02:01Those records showed he had not used either since January 16th, 2009.
02:17Robert's family told us that prior to him going missing, Robert's mother passed away,
02:23and he inherited roughly $50,000.
02:25Once the money was deposited from his mother's inheritance, he was making, if not daily, every
02:33other day, withdrawals from his account.
02:35So when he was no longer withdrawing money, that does not look good.
02:55All right, you're the roommate of our missing guy, Robert Harris, and you're one of the last
03:00people to see him.
03:02Can you just start off on how you met him?
03:04I met him through a friend of mine, and he called me on the phone one day, and, you know,
03:09he told me that he got kicked out of the place he was at.
03:11I said, you know, you can come crash on my couch for a couple weeks, and no problem,
03:17you know, until you find yourself placed.
03:19Did he live with you when his mom died?
03:21Yeah.
03:21Did he tell you how much his inheritance was?
03:24No.
03:24He told me that he hadn't actually gotten the inheritance cleared yet.
03:30I suspected that it was full of crap, and I kind of believed that he was lying to me
03:35about it because he was up in the $500 range of paying me electric, you know, this part
03:41of the electric.
03:42He owed you money?
03:43Yeah.
03:45So how did you come to know he was moving out?
03:47Did he tell you he was moving, he got a place, or how did it happen?
03:50At first, no.
03:51I came home, and almost all his stuff was gone, so it was a surprise.
03:54I was like, oh, he must have found a place.
03:56I noticed right away that, no, the guitar's gone, you know, this and that, you know, his
04:01clothes, most of his clothes are gone and everything.
04:04Did he come back, or what happened?
04:05One to two days later, he came back, and that's when he came back in the black Mercedes with
04:13the girl and picked up the remainder of his stuff.
04:16What happened?
04:17Did the female stay in the car?
04:18Yeah.
04:19Did she get out?
04:20Yeah, she stayed in the car.
04:22She was in the driver's seat.
04:23I mean, I could see, um, white female, mid-30s, early 40s, maybe.
04:32So did you guys talk about anything while you were inside?
04:35He asked me about leaving the truck there.
04:38I said, dude, no problem, man.
04:39You can leave it here.
04:40That's not a problem.
04:41Do you know of any places he frequented?
04:44He wasn't a drinker or something.
04:45There wasn't, like, bars or anything that he went to.
04:49Off seeing people.
04:50Yeah, I gotta go see some people.
04:53Okay.
04:53That's basically the kind of stuff.
04:54What did you think he was doing when he was out seeing people?
04:57Silent Hills.
04:58Silent Hills?
04:59He was pretty secretive about it.
05:01Okay.
05:02Yeah.
05:02Did you and him use it together?
05:06Yes.
05:07Yeah.
05:07I know his use, I mean, just watching, way increased in the last, like, month or so that he was there.
05:16Okay.
05:16To where he was doing what I consider to be ungodly amounts.
05:23I didn't pick up on any nervousness.
05:50He's answering all my questions, but I felt he wasn't being completely truthful with us.
05:56It wasn't making sense to us that Robert had just left his truck and left with a female in a Mercedes.
06:03We're thinking that Daniel wasn't being upfront and honest.
06:07The trailer itself was run down, but it looked like it was being freshly renovated, and we're seeing new flooring, fresh paint.
06:22Also, there was a pawn slip where Daniel had recently pawned a guitar and an amp.
06:29That does not look good, because Daniel claimed that Robert had just left, that he took his guitar, he took his belongings, and was just gone.
06:38During the walkthrough, officers had gone through the garbage in the kitchen and noticed prescription bottles and syringes.
06:47Since it had been months since Robert had been in the home, when we came across those needles, we believed they were Daniel Alexander's.
07:00Daniel tried to portray that he was not using drugs as often as Robert.
07:07So that was a lie.
07:09Robert's brother, Christopher, had said Robert had moved around quite a bit while he was here in Florida, but was doing well, had some money.
07:26We never had any proof, no evidence, that Robert was a drug dealer.
07:30I felt like Daniel was painting a darker picture and trying to lead us down a different path.
07:36Robert was very well-liked around the town we grew up in, in Bloomfield, New Jersey.
07:43He was an excellent athlete, one of the best baseball players in the town when he was younger.
07:48Robert moved around a lot. He was like a free bird.
07:51He could never stay in one spot, but he always kept in touch with us.
07:55Rob would call me a lot, and he would put the phone down, and he would play guitar, and I would listen, because I loved it.
08:01We always had that connection.
08:02After moving down to Florida, he decided he wanted to stay down there. He liked it.
08:08He wanted to start his own business, a landscape business.
08:12Rob was very charismatic, outgoing, social. He would do anything for anybody.
08:18He was just a generally good-hearted person.
08:20A friend of Daniel, Larry Kelly, he had information that Daniel admitted to him that he had killed Robert.
08:44Larry Kelly knew Robert Harrison, and he saw Robert as a brother, as an uncle.
08:51He wanted to help us get the information.
08:55He explained that Daniel enlisted the help of his brothers, Donald Gould and Kenneth Alexander.
09:01He claimed that his brothers knew where the body was.
09:05How are you going?
09:31It's going good, man.
09:32So, what am I telling you? These people wanted to meet up with me and talk to me and f***ing what to do.
09:38What I do, what I do.
09:40First of all, I told them, because he was freaked out around in this and that and the other.
09:45Now, that's why he left his truck here with me.
09:49Because he didn't want to drive it around. That's what I told them.
09:52Now, it wouldn't hurt if you said, if you said something to me to corroborate my story good.
09:59You know what I mean?
10:01Right. Right.
10:02That would help me.
10:03I mean, are you sure they have a freaking...
10:09Have they been to your house at all?
10:13I mean, like, checked it out?
10:15Go, please.
10:15Dude, I had the whole f***ing crime scene f***ing investigator f***ing CSI f***ing bombies.
10:23I just was f***ing here, dude. The whole f***ing game was out here, dude.
10:28I f***ing tore my f***ing bucket out.
10:31I tore the whole f***ing floor out.
10:33And I f***ing went up and down that f***ing trailer f***ing nine f***ing times.
10:39Cleaning that f***ing truck.
10:41There ain't no way they didn't find f***ing.
10:45What about that?
10:46I'm so...
10:47Where he is, it ain't f***ing a great spot, but if they had found him, they'd be here putting him under arrest.
10:59They ain't running.
11:06My brother and I were really tight in terms of speaking all the time and sharing what's going on in our lives and talking to each other.
11:14He was just totally supportive.
11:15After my mom passed, Robert came up and spent some time in New Jersey.
11:21I saw him during my mom's services.
11:25And then shortly after that, he went back down to Florida.
11:28And that was the last time I saw him.
11:30So, basically, you want me just to tell every f***ing what?
11:43Um, just that he was a f***ing whacked out f***ing drug dad, man.
12:05Okay.
12:06I'm just freaked the f*** out, dude.
12:09You know what I mean?
12:10Well, I mean, there's nothing they can do to you, Larry.
12:12I mean, there's nothing at all.
12:13Number one, they don't know f***ing.
12:16So, no matter what they f***ing tell you, they don't know anything.
12:21And there's absolutely no way to link you to anything.
12:24So, if they came up with the f***ing, you know, we know this and we know that, you know they're full of f***ing.
12:31You don't freak out about this now?
12:33Well, yeah, I do.
12:34But, I mean, how much can I, you know, what can I do?
12:38I got to act mellow and, like, nothing's wrong.
12:41Yeah, I'm freaked out about it.
12:43But, what the whole thing is, if they don't find a f***ing body, they don't do f***ing.
12:48We need to talk to all three of them in person at the same time.
13:17We don't want them talking to each other and letting each other know that they were talked to and to come up with a story.
13:26By the time my unit was taking Kenneth Alexander into custody, I was on my way to the station to interview Donald Gould.
13:35Donald was agitated. We didn't really have a whole lot of time to build a rapport.
13:40So we decided to inform him why he was there and give him the opportunity to help himself by telling us what he knew.
13:48Donald, how are you?
13:51Did they explain to you why you're here?
13:53I don't know how many I do want.
13:55We're working a case now. We have been for the past couple of weeks.
13:58Okay. Of a missing person.
14:00Okay.
14:01I think I know who you're talking about.
14:03Okay.
14:04Okay.
14:05Let me just cut to the chase.
14:07We received more information.
14:09Okay?
14:10And he's not just missing.
14:12Yeah, he's missing, but he's not alive.
14:16Well, it could have nothing to do with me because I don't know.
14:18No, no, no, no.
14:19You didn't do the murder or killing or anything like that.
14:22I don't know anything about the thing.
14:23Okay.
14:24I think you know where he's at.
14:26And for closure for the family, and believe me, I would rather use you as a witness.
14:31Okay?
14:31You understand that?
14:32Yeah.
14:33That's the difference between you walking out as a witness and cooperating with me and going,
14:37listen, I'm going to put this to rest.
14:40I know where he's at.
14:41I'll help you guys out.
14:42I'll get in a car with you.
14:43I'll point him out, and then you go home.
14:45Okay?
14:46I can't do that.
14:47Why can't you do that?
14:48Because I have no f***ing idea where the guy is.
14:51Okay.
14:51You have kids?
14:52No.
14:52All right.
14:53You have a girlfriend now or a wife?
14:55Yes, I do.
14:56Okay.
14:56I've been together with her for about a year.
14:57Let's just say she shows up missing one day.
15:01She just, you can't find her anywhere.
15:04And you're working with the police department.
15:07Would you want to find her?
15:08Yes, I want to find her.
15:09Okay.
15:10So you have to, the family up in Jersey is looking for this guy.
15:14I know that.
15:15He's not alive.
15:16Okay?
15:16I just want to know where he's at.
15:18So all you got to do is pick the body up.
15:20If I knew where the guy was, I would, I would, I swear to God, I would tell you, man.
15:24I'm telling you, I've been working this.
15:26I know you have.
15:28I know you have.
15:28If I knew where this, where, if I knew anything, believe me, I would tell you because I don't
15:32want to go to jail.
15:34Well, you know, we were told directly that Donnie knows where the body is.
15:38Whoever said that is a son of a bitch because I don't know.
15:44And that's the God's honest truth.
15:46I ain't going to sit here and lie to you until I go to jail over something.
15:49I ain't going to do it for nobody.
15:51I have no f***ing idea where the guy is.
15:53I thought he, Dan told me that he didn't kill the guy.
15:56That's what he told me.
15:57He told me the guy left with some girl in a car.
16:00Well, that's what he told everybody.
16:01That's what he f***ing told me.
16:03That's what, that's what he told everybody.
16:05The same thing.
16:05Now, but please, this is the difference.
16:08I don't even hardly know Dan.
16:10I, my father f***ing left us when I was f***ing four years f***ing old.
16:15I just met Dan a few years ago.
16:18But see, let me explain something.
16:19So if we talk to Johnny Jones down the street or Mary Smith, and they go, no, no, no, no.
16:24Donald f***ing told me where the body's at.
16:27Then I come back, then I go, all right, you go to jail because you lied to me.
16:31How can I tell anybody where the body is when I don't f***ing know where it is?
16:35Right, but I'm giving you the opportunity if you know where it is.
16:37I'm telling you right now.
16:38Whoever said that is a f***ing dead-ass lying because I don't know where no body is.
16:43The information we were given contradicted that.
16:46So we couldn't just walk away, but the more we pushed him, the more upset he was.
16:52Some people come off angry and demanding because they want you to be in fear of them and stop talking to them.
17:00And some people had nothing to do with it, and they want you to believe them.
17:03I didn't hide nobody, I didn't see him, shoot nobody.
17:07I don't even know if he shot no f***ing body, or if he, how he f***ing killed this guy.
17:11Shot him, stabbed him, f***ing, whatever, sodomizing, what the f*** ever happened.
17:15Right.
17:18This is just f***ing.
17:19Relax, relax.
17:21No big deal.
17:22My mom, I got, I got, my blood pressure is probably f***ing amping.
17:27All right, just relax.
17:28He told me he didn't kill the son of a b***.
17:30Well, he lied to you.
17:32Yeah, well.
17:33Your brother lied to you.
17:34You know what?
17:35I f***ing believe you, I believe you, I believe the f***er probably did kill the son of a b***.
17:39Why?
17:40Because, because he's a f***ing f***ing f***ing sometimes.
17:44But, I don't know.
17:47No, he's just a f***ing f***ing f***ing.
17:49Like an anger problem.
17:50I guess.
17:52Listen, I'll tell you.
17:53Right now, he was f***ing around one day and said that, you know, that f***er is probably dead or this and that, you know.
17:59I even told my girlfriend that, you know, he was telling me this s*** too.
18:03I said, the guy's been missing.
18:05And I said, you know, you didn't kill the guy.
18:08He said, oh yeah, right.
18:12I killed him, buried his f***ing body out here.
18:15He just kind of like acted like, you know, he was f***ing around with me.
18:18Then he started laughing.
18:19You know, like he didn't f***ing do it, you know.
18:22Now I'm starting to think maybe he killed the son of a b***h now, see.
18:26Now you f***ing got me thinking he might have killed the f***.
18:28I thought he was f***ing killed with me.
18:43I swear to God, I didn't think he killed the son of a b***h.
18:44I mean, was he specific on where he buried, like, yeah, you're right.
18:50He don't f***ing confide in me.
18:51He's barely known me but f***ing four years, maybe three, four f***ing years.
18:55Right.
18:57But why is he going to tell?
18:59I mean, you know, you kill some f***ing body.
19:02Maybe he's a guy who's bothering him.
19:04I don't know.
19:04I got no f***ing idea.
19:06I don't f***ing.
19:07I mean, the reason you're here is because other people that we've been interviewing have said that you know where...
19:14Did they say his brother or did they say Don?
19:17Donald.
19:18Don.
19:19Well, that's f***ing.
19:21I'm just telling you.
19:22I'm telling you right now.
19:24There's another brother besides me.
19:26I know.
19:27Is Kenny closer to Danny than you?
19:30Yeah.
19:30Oh, yeah.
19:35I want to know who f***ing said that I f***ing had something to do with this because they're lying.
19:40Well, I'll tell you after the investigation.
19:42The more we talked to Donald, it was apparent that he didn't know any more than what he had already told us.
19:50We had exhausted all means and we felt he had nothing to do with it.
20:05Today's day which?
20:06Today's day.
20:06April 6th.
20:07Kenneth Alexander was picked up by Detective Randall Anderson.
20:11Randall Anderson had dealings with Kenneth.
20:15They had a good rapport with one another.
20:18So, Anderson spoke with them before.
20:20I spoke with them in the interview room.
20:22We were now banking on Kenneth letting us know and hoping he was the brother that knew where the body was.
20:31Kenny, again.
20:31I don't know where he's at.
20:33I don't know where he's at.
20:34What did he tell you?
20:36He didn't tell me.
20:38I told him I didn't want to know.
20:40I said, f***ing don't tell me nothing.
20:42I don't want to f***ing know.
20:43But he did tell me.
20:44They were both f***ing using drugs and f***ing.
20:46I don't know what it was about.
20:48I don't know why they was fighting.
20:50Start with it.
20:50Kenny, you got to tell us the rest of the story.
20:52You can't cut us off like that.
20:54Just tell us the truth.
20:55Tell us the rest of the story.
20:56He said, well, this is what he told me.
20:58They were in the kitchen.
20:59They were fighting.
21:01He said he f***ing hit him with a frying pan.
21:04Did he hit him over the head or?
21:05In the head.
21:06Okay.
21:06I'm pretty sure it was in the head.
21:08And I guess he f***ing got a kitchen knife out of the kitchen or something.
21:12Okay.
21:12And finished him off.
21:14Okay.
21:14How did he finish him off?
21:16I don't know.
21:17I wasn't there.
21:18He didn't go into details about it.
21:20We don't think you were there.
21:21No, I wasn't there.
21:22Did Danny say if Robert had a weapon on him?
21:26No, I don't, I don't.
21:29They just were fighting?
21:30Yeah.
21:30Okay, in the kitchen.
21:31Just fighting or, I don't know.
21:33Pretty much going at it.
21:35After he stabbed him, I'm assuming that he stabbed him.
21:38I'm assuming that too.
21:39Okay.
21:40What did he do with him?
21:41Because obviously he's been missing for.
21:43And don't sit and tell us.
21:45I have no idea.
21:45Don't sit and tell us that you didn't pay to him.
21:48What did you do with him after that?
21:50No.
21:51Your brother's not stupid.
21:52All right.
21:53After he killed him, did he take the body, get rid of the body, or did he leave him in
21:59the trailer for any length of time?
22:01I don't know.
22:02I assume that he just got rid of him right away.
22:05I mean, it's pretty stupid to leave him sitting there, wasn't it?
22:10I mean, why just let him sit there and rot or whatever?
22:15No.
22:15We don't got rid of the body.
22:16He got rid of the body.
22:18I don't know what he was saying.
22:19You know Danny pretty good.
22:21He said he took him out in the woods and buried him.
22:23But I have no idea what a that is.
22:26All right.
22:26Knowing Danny, would he feel safe if it was on the property or down the street?
22:32I don't know.
22:34It wouldn't make sense to leave him on the property.
22:37Yeah, but he knows the property.
22:39Yeah.
22:40He knows the property like the back of his hand, I guess.
22:42Did he say when he did this?
22:45Not exactly.
22:46Did he tell you what to say to police?
22:48No.
22:49Okay.
22:50I never figured.
22:52But I mean, everybody's saying that he was picked up.
22:58So obviously he says, don't say nothing to nobody.
23:00I said, what did you tell me?
23:02I don't want to know.
23:04And I didn't want to know.
23:05I didn't want to know anything.
23:06Right.
23:08Did your brother Donald go with him to get rid of the body?
23:10No.
23:12Donnie wouldn't go anywhere with him.
23:14Obviously somebody helped him.
23:15He's your brother.
23:16Somebody helped him.
23:17I don't know who it was.
23:20You can't do that all by yourself, man.
23:21Rob's a big guy.
23:23He's six foot, 200 pounds.
23:27Are you going to drag that foot on your house?
23:28Yeah, I'm my brother strong, just like I said.
23:30I could move that much weight under pressure.
23:32No, no, no.
23:33You don't understand it.
23:34It's dead weight.
23:35There's a lot more.
23:36It doesn't matter.
23:36I could move that much weight under pressure.
23:39I know.
23:39Here's the deal.
23:41We said to you that somebody saw you in the truck with him and we believed you were with
23:48him and take us to the body.
23:49You think you'd get in trouble for that?
23:51I wasn't with him.
23:52When I told this detective who's been doing this a lot longer to me, I said, I got this
23:56guy.
23:57This guy is going to tell us the truth.
23:59And if he tells us the truth, he gets to go home tonight.
24:02What can I say, man?
24:04But the bottom line is that when you first came in here, you told us you didn't know
24:07anything.
24:08Then you changed the story.
24:09No, it was about first.
24:10And then you told us he didn't tell you anything.
24:12Well, I just told you.
24:13And then you told us he didn't tell you where he put it.
24:16So just finish up the story on good terms with Detective Boyle and tell him the truth.
24:21Enough is enough.
24:34Yeah, I'm scared of my brother.
24:38There you go.
24:38You're afraid of him.
24:40And if you're afraid of him, you're going to do what he tells you to do.
24:43That's the bottom line.
24:44He's a little nuts.
24:45He's crazy.
24:47He's crazy.
24:49So if he made you go in the truck with him, tell us where so we could get this thing over
24:52with.
24:52You guys put me in prison for the rest of the time.
24:54No, no, no.
24:56You're, no.
24:57Let me explain something to you.
24:58You're a witness.
24:59Period.
24:59No, and that's not the way it works.
25:01I've been doing this for 20 years, okay?
25:04Believe me when I say this.
25:06You get in a truck with me, you can get in a truck with him.
25:09Drive him to where the body's at, and you go home.
25:12I'm giving you my word, bro, right now.
25:14That's all I can give you is my word.
25:15That's all I have to give you is my word.
25:17Tell me the truth and take me there, because if you continue to lie to Detective Boyle, and
25:21he proves you were there, then you're an accessory.
25:23Right now, you're not.
25:24Well, let's go.
25:25Right now, you're a witness.
25:26I'll show you where it's at.
25:26Let's go.
25:27All right.
25:29When he came out and said, I'll show you where the body's at, immediately, Randall
25:33Anderson drove Kenneth to the scene.
25:36In the meantime, we wanted to talk to Daniel, because there is a ticking clock.
25:41If he says, I'm not talking to you anymore, we're done.
25:44So we decided to start this interview, bluffing that we had the body, because he's very sure
25:51of himself, very confident, very relaxed.
25:55Confronting him, it kind of keeps him off his game.
25:58Like we last spoke, we've been working on this, like, morning and night, okay?
26:05And we got some information, okay?
26:12And we interviewed a couple people today, and we located Robert.
26:20You did?
26:20Yeah.
26:22Okay.
26:23One of the persons that we interviewed is your brother, okay?
26:31And he's the one that pointed out the body, okay?
26:36I know something happened in the kitchen between you and Robert, okay?
26:42Okay.
26:42I need to hear it from you, okay?
26:45Because there's two sides of the story, okay?
26:50Whether or not he attacked you, or he went after you for some reason, I don't know what
26:55happened, man.
26:57Okay?
26:58I just want the truth.
26:59That's it.
27:00So we can get some closure to this and put an end to it, okay?
27:05That just doesn't even sound right.
27:08Well, what doesn't sound right?
27:09Explain to me what doesn't sound right.
27:10We had Kenneth and Donald both in here today.
27:15Right.
27:16Kenneth drove us to the body.
27:22He told us his side of the story of what happened.
27:26Now we want to hear your side.
27:28Was it self-defense?
27:30Was it something?
27:31What happened?
27:33I know Robert was a pain in the ass.
27:34I know you guys had your differences.
27:36I know that, man.
27:37Yeah, but it's okay.
27:38We know he's hot-tempered.
27:39And I know there's pills involved, you know?
27:43You're both on it, you know?
27:45Is it possible one night you were just so high, or he pissed you off, and you went at
27:50it, or both of you were high and went at it?
27:53Correct me if I'm wrong, because you're sitting there not saying anything.
27:57Well, because this is all floored.
27:58It's all got me floored.
27:59I don't see where any of this is coming from.
28:03It's coming from your flesh and blood.
28:05That's where it's coming from.
28:06Okay?
28:08Did he help you do it?
28:11He wasn't involved with anything.
28:14I'll give you yes and no answers.
28:16Did you and Robert have a fight?
28:19No.
28:21Did you kill Robert?
28:23No.
28:24Did you accidentally hurt him?
28:27No.
28:28Okay.
28:30What are you thinking of?
28:34Just not understanding, you know, Ken.
28:37I just don't understand.
28:39Where did he take you to?
28:41We can't tell you until you talk.
28:44We can't say anything.
28:45It just doesn't make any sense.
28:47Hey, Danny.
28:48You made a mistake.
28:49I make all kinds of mistakes, man.
28:54Right, but this one was stupid.
28:59And you regret it?
29:01Yes.
29:03I regret having that guy ever move in with me, man.
29:05I mean, it's been nothing but a hassle from day one, you know?
29:09Right.
29:10So what happened?
29:12You guys are in the kitchen.
29:14What happened?
29:15Or did it start before the kitchen?
29:16Well, the guy was crazy, man.
29:20I mean...
29:20All right.
29:22Is it possible he came after you?
29:24And you defended yourself?
29:25That's what happened.
29:39You know, I had asked him to leave.
29:41Right.
29:41You know?
29:42I mean, pack up his stuff and, you know, you need to go.
29:46Right.
29:48He ran over and got in my face and said, I'm not going anywhere.
29:53At that point, I was like, you know, kind of freaked me out a little bit.
29:59Scared you?
30:00Yeah.
30:01I was like, dude, man, you need to get your stuff together and go.
30:05And he said, I'll do whatever I damn well please.
30:08Right.
30:09He just was taking so much drugs.
30:11Right.
30:12And how did it escalate from there?
30:16I mean...
30:19I tried to walk away from the situation and he came after me.
30:24Okay.
30:25I didn't get hurt.
30:26I don't...
30:27Well, he's lucky.
30:29I didn't have anything to defend myself with.
30:31Right.
30:33Yeah.
30:33So, you grabbed the closest thing next to you or did you...
30:37No, I fought with him.
30:40He came and tried to get me with the knife and I grabbed his hand.
30:45And I don't know how we struggled around and rolled over, but I ended up getting a hold of his hand.
30:54And as we fell to the floor, it jabbed him.
30:58And then what?
30:58He was kind of laying there bleeding and I f***ing hopped up and hauled ass, man, because I was freaked out, man.
31:11Yeah.
31:11There's only one...
31:12He only jabbed himself once.
31:15Yeah.
31:16Did you hit him with anything?
31:17No.
31:17No.
31:18Grab a two-by-four, whack him over the head?
31:21No.
31:22When did you...
31:22I was scared, man.
31:23I was really scared.
31:25I would, too.
31:25Now, when did you return back to the residence?
31:31That...
31:31Did you go back that night?
31:35Yeah, but it was a few hours later.
31:38Okay.
31:39What'd you do then?
31:40Or what did you see?
31:42He was still lying there, man.
31:44I didn't think it poked him that bad.
31:48He was lying there dead.
31:50Well, what'd you do next?
31:52Did you try to hide the body then?
31:54Did you put him in something?
31:57I was stuck him in the bathtub for a while.
32:00Right.
32:02How long was he in the bathtub for?
32:05Um...
32:07Okay, two days.
32:08Okay.
32:10If Robert attacked Daniel and he defended himself,
32:13he would run out of the house and call the police to come and help.
32:17You wouldn't take somebody, put him in your bathtub,
32:19and dispose of their body.
32:21And then cover up a murder with the new floor and the renovation.
32:26So it made zero sense to us that there was any type of self-defense.
32:31A couple days ago by, what'd you do with him out of the tub?
32:37I had to do something until I got scared and I buried mine.
32:44What'd you put him in?
32:47In plastic.
32:49Plastic bags?
32:51No.
32:52No?
32:53No.
32:56Well...
32:57This is just, uh...
33:00This is what?
33:04I mean, you're sitting there grinning.
33:06No, I'm just...
33:08Talk to me.
33:12But if you guys knew so much, you'd know all of that.
33:15I don't understand why you're asking me that.
33:17I...
33:17We have to hear from you.
33:20So you decide to bury him.
33:22Did you drag him out?
33:26Or did he do burlap?
33:27No.
33:28I left the room.
33:33Because we had to have made some progress finding Robert's body.
33:37So I left the room to go find out any updates.
33:45Do you want me to do that for you, Bob?
33:47No, I'm doing that.
33:50How heavy are they?
33:51I talked to the investigative team that went with Kenneth out to the burial site.
33:57And they advised they had found a shallow grave with four plastic containers with concrete mixed in, buried.
34:07Every bin was literally full of concrete with little bones sticking out.
34:12Once I learned they found the body, that gave me the upper hand in the next part of our interrogation.
34:18When you came back, how'd you clean the house?
34:26I was with blood on the floor.
34:28Clean it.
34:29Okay.
34:31So I kind of missed out.
34:33So can I at least tell them what we do know?
34:35Yep.
34:35We know that you went out north, out by the gas station on the trail road back there, and dropped off four containers with semen.
34:46Okay, it's not in a bag.
34:50It's not a one piece.
34:51I'm not telling you.
34:52Yeah.
34:53No.
34:53Okay.
34:54We're telling you that we've been told what happened.
34:59And now we've got to determine what the true story is.
35:03And you're the only one that knows because you were there from the beginning.
35:06Now you've got to tell us what happened next.
35:19I just want you to know that we're not calling your bluff.
35:21Yeah, no.
35:22That's my biggest thing.
35:23I don't want you to think we're lying to you.
35:24That we know.
35:26And we know that there's trauma possibly to the head.
35:30Well, A.S.B. fell down, but...
35:33He didn't strike him with anything in the head.
35:38He's not going to get that kind of a head injury just from his head floor.
35:43At this point, we did not know of the head wound or the stab wounds on Robert.
35:49But I decided to push Daniel a little more to try to get him to talk about the injuries Robert sustained.
35:57So I bluffed.
35:59Did he come after you when you turned around because you were in the kitchen cooking or something,
36:02and you just hit him with a frying pan?
36:04Or a pan?
36:07Dan, this is a time to...
36:09I just...
36:10Well, it's either yes or no.
36:12Yeah, yeah.
36:13Okay.
36:14Yeah.
36:15And then he kept coming at me.
36:16I mean, I didn't even really think about that until you said that, you know?
36:22Dan, we need you to tell us what happened.
36:24And when he came at me, I turned around to try and block him with that, and I hit him with a frying pan.
36:32Well, if that's the case, why didn't you tell us he hit you with a frying pan?
36:34You hit him with a frying pan.
36:36Why do I...
36:37This is why we asked you what happened.
36:39Why do I have to tell you what happened before you tell us what happened?
36:42I didn't think about that.
36:44I honestly didn't think about that.
36:45I was thinking about the knife.
36:48Really.
36:48I think you were thinking beforehand, we really didn't have a body, and we just...
36:52We didn't know.
36:53We were just pulling you for information.
36:55But now you know we do, right?
36:57I was scared.
36:59I was scared.
36:59So if you truly were acting in self-defense, why wouldn't you call the police and say,
37:04this guy just attacked me.
37:05I just stabbed him.
37:07That's what a normal person would say.
37:09It was all I would want to say, I was being attacked.
37:12I'm outside right now.
37:14He's inside.
37:15Can you get here?
37:18I know.
37:18It was stupid for me to not call.
37:21Okay.
37:22How many times did you stab him?
37:24Just once.
37:25I mean, and that was in a tussle falling to the floor.
37:27I mean, that's...
37:29All right.
37:29That is true.
37:30Okay.
37:31But I told you, there's a man on top.
37:32Well, I mean, you know, any other...
37:34Did anybody else stab him?
37:35Obviously, to get him in four different containers, it took...
37:39Terrible things.
37:42Who cut him up?
37:43I did.
37:45Where did you use to cut him up?
37:47Knife.
37:48I mean, it's a knife.
37:51Where did you cut him?
37:55Pretty much just an amber.
37:57But, you know, in the house or outside?
38:00In the house.
38:02In your house?
38:04In the bathtub.
38:06In the bathtub.
38:06But where on his body?
38:09Like, what parts are with each other?
38:12You don't know?
38:13Well, no.
38:14I mean, I have to take the arms off, the head off, legs off.
38:17I mean, to make it all fit.
38:19Isn't that hard work?
38:21I mean...
38:22Well, I have some butchering knowledge from working over at the club.
38:27It was a terrible thing to have to do, but it wasn't that difficult.
38:34You did this by yourself?
38:35Yeah.
38:36At what point did you call Kenneth?
38:38That wasn't until a week or two later.
38:42I told him...
38:43I think I told him what happened.
38:45I said, I'm in trouble and I just need this favor.
38:49Stuff was too heavy for me, so he helped me load it up.
38:52He helped me load it up and drag it off.
39:01So he was afraid for me, you know?
39:04Where's the frying pan now?
39:07I threw it in the dumpster.
39:08It's been worn for months.
39:10Where's the knife?
39:11Where's all this stuff?
39:13That all got hollowed off the trash.
39:15His guitar.
39:18You pawned it?
39:19Yeah.
39:19Okay.
39:21What was the purpose of the concrete?
39:25Quite honestly, that that I was going to be...
39:30I was going to put it in the ocean and sink it to the bottom.
39:34It just never worked out that way.
39:36How come that didn't work out?
39:38I just...
39:39There wasn't a way to do it.
39:40I'm not both.
39:44What's going to happen to me now, Jen?
39:47I don't know.
39:48We've got to, you know, finish the investigation and see what's going on.
39:53All right.
39:53Let me step out.
40:01I was happy to just be done with it and to be able to show that he's a cold, calculated
40:06murderer.
40:07My theory as to motive is Robert receiving this inheritance money, and I feel that Daniel
40:16Alexander thought he was being a friend to somebody, giving him a place to stay, and
40:22now he's got all this money, and he's not giving it to him.
40:26Maybe an argument started, but this is all speculation.
40:30We've wrapped it.
40:32We put the bow on top.
40:33We now have to wait for the jury to unwrap it.
40:36Daniel Alexander facing the judge for the first time today.
40:51Alexander is accused of killing his roommate, 39-year-old Robert Harrison, by hitting him
40:56with a frying pan, stabbing him to death, and then, according to authorities, cutting
41:01up his bodies.
41:02It just perplexed me that some, you know, a human being could do that to another human
41:07being.
41:07The autopsy revealed that Robert had blunt trauma to the head and multiple stab wounds
41:20to the torso, but no obvious defensive wounds.
41:25There was nothing on Robert's body telling us that he was in a fight with Daniel.
41:32He was attacked.
41:33Daniel Alexander was found guilty of second-degree murder.
41:39He was sentenced to life in prison, and he received an additional 15 years for abuse
41:45of a body.
41:47Daniel will go away for the rest of his life, and hopefully it will be a miserable existence
41:51for him.
41:52Charges were not filed against Donald Gould and Kenneth Alexander.
41:57With Donald Gould, we never had any proof that he had any part of what Daniel Alexander did.
42:03And because of what Kenneth did in helping us recover the body, charges were not filed against
42:11him.
42:15I was satisfied at the outcome.
42:18We knew that we couldn't bring Robert Harrison back, but it was rewarding to be able to return
42:26him to his family, and then to give them justice.
42:33I just miss having my older brother.
42:34I don't have it.
42:39I never will.
42:42And it's hard some days not having Rob anymore, and just that connection, the daily phone call,
42:54whatever it was.
42:55It's gone.
42:56It's permanent.
42:57So, in my mind, he's with me in spirit, and I have to just carry that on till I'm gone.
43:06For now, as we cannot find the diagnosis, when he was born, and it is still going to be here in
43:08his life, and his life is going to cause the number of others.
43:09I love this person.
43:13I love this person.
43:14I love this person.
43:16One, even if you are willing to know.
43:17You are willing to suppose your question.
43:23I am sorry, Mom.
43:23The answer has no reason.
43:24Just the answer is where I ask her.
43:26I do not know.
43:27You don't know.
43:27I am terribly sorry.
43:28I know he is on the
43:32day.
