00:07across central Lancashire and the Fowled Coast. First up in Preston, the poet, writer and musician
00:13Donald Jenkins brings his tour, still raving in your 40s, to The Ferret on Wednesday October 15.
00:21The show mixes music, dramatic monologue and spoken word poetry to ask should middle age
00:26stop you from being a raving reprobate. Donald promises to take audiences on a fascinating
00:32journey through the most epic musical movement of the British underground. Still raving in your 40s
00:38is on between 8pm and 9pm with tickets costing £8. In Chorley, the best-selling author Peter James
00:47will be in conversation with TV presenter Louise Minchin at Chorley Theatre on Tuesday October 14.
00:53During the evening, organised by Ebon Flo Bookshop, Roy Grace writer Peter will tell Louise all about his
01:00latest novel, The Hawk is Dead, and the links for Bookerman Palace. There will be an audience,
01:06Q&A and then a personalised book signing. Tickets are still available, costing £27 for a book and seat,
01:14£32 for a book and two seats. Also in Chorley, the monthly classic car rally at Hesken Hall returns on
01:23Sunday October 19. Running between 10.30am and 3pm, all types of classic vehicles are welcome at the
01:30rally and there is a prize for the winner. It costs £3 to enter the competition, but the event is free
01:36for those visiting to just look around. Over on the Fowd Coast, Lightpool Festival starts in Blackpool
01:43on Wednesday October 15. Running until November 1, this award-winning festival takes place at various
01:50locations around the town centre. Expect a spectacular programme of light-based art installations,
01:56live performances, 3D projection shows and family-friendly activities. Lightpool Festival is of course free to
02:04enjoy, with the installations being lit between 6pm and 10pm each evening across the nine days.
02:12Finally, in Livam, the British singer-songwriter Seth Lakeman is performing at Lalford Pavilion on
02:17Tuesday October 14. The Mercury Music Prize nominee released his latest studio album, The Granite Way,
02:25in February on his own label, Honor Oak Records. It's a collection of songs recorded alongside a group of
02:31long-time collaborators of Ceph's, staying true to his roots and referring to ancient stories that
02:37inspired early West Country storytelling. The show starts at 7.30pm and limited tickets are available,
02:44costing £26.50 each. So there are five top things to do next week, but whatever you're up to, have a good one.
