00:00Hi, I'm digital reporter Amy Seddon and welcome to another edition of 5 things to do next
00:07week across central Lancashire and the Fowled Coast.
00:11First up in Preston, an urban festival called Popfest 2025 is on between Friday August 8
00:18and Sunday August 10. Featuring some of the best indie pop acts from all over the UK,
00:24this is a three day event taking place across three city centre venues. There will be two
00:29stages in the Continental on Friday evening, an all day bill in the Ferret and an evening
00:34session at Blitz on Saturday, finishing with another all day programme across two stages
00:39at the Continental on Sunday. In all, more than 40 acts will appear at the Popfest across the
00:44weekend with very few clashes. Weekend tickets are £70 and Saturday day tickets are £30,
00:52available online from wegottickets.com.
00:56In Chorley, Hesken Hall will host the Drufus Festival on Sunday August 10. Running between
01:0211am and 4pm, the festival is a celebration of the alternative, steampunk, goffé and cosplay.
01:10There will also be stalls, a cafe, a bar and the garden terrace will be serving pizza. The
01:15event is free and there is also free car parking. Over on the Fard Coast, the Blackpool Air Show returns
01:23between Saturday August 9 and Sunday August 10. Expect an impressive line-up of air displays throughout
01:29the weekend, whilst on the ground there will be an air show village located on the Tower Festival
01:34headland. Open between 10am and 6pm, expect a range of stalls, attractions and food concessions.
01:41The Blackpool Air Show is free, just turn up. In Litham, Barry Steele's Roy Orbison story
01:49is on at the Lalfour Pavilion on Saturday August 9. Experience the unforgettable sound of a generation
01:55with Barry Steele, alongside an extraordinary ensemble of talented musicians and singers,
02:01as together they pay homage to the timeless music of Roy Orbison, the travelling Wilburys and many of the
02:07big O's friends. The show starts at 7.30pm and the running time is 2 hours 20 minutes. Tickets start
02:15from £30 but be quick as the event is nearly sold out. Finally in Fleetwood, the Affinity Lancashire
02:22outlet again has a series of activities to entertain the little ones. Between Tuesday August 5th and
02:29Thursday August 7th, Affinity will run traditional seaside shows between 11.15am and 4pm each day,
02:36in the outside event space. The shows, which will take place inside Captain Codd's clubhouse if it rains,
02:42are interspersed with mini bus rides taking you around the centre on a mini adventure.
02:48Then on Saturday August 9th, you can meet the Summary Flowerport people,
02:52who will be appearing at the centre at 12 noon, 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Each appearance lasts 30 minutes,
02:59giving you plenty of time to take photos and there's free face painting on the days too, between 11am and
03:064pm. So there are five top things to do next week, but whatever you're up to, have a good one.
